Fast Friday Card

DSCF2399

Happy Friday, everyone!  I am glad this week is almost over!  I am looking forward to the weekend, that’s for sure!  Before I get to my project, I want to thank the lovely ladies at The Kraft Journal; they’re featuring my project from this post on their blog today!  Thanks again!

Today’s card is a real quickie; again, I am highlighting some products that will be retiring soon!   I already had the floral image from Fabulous Florets stamped and heat embossed on Shimmery White paper and watercolored with Strawberry Slush ink when I saw this sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches:

And this is what I did with it:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Blessings from Heaven Stampin Up

In REAL LIFE, the colors in my (non-SU) DP match my Strawberry Slush panel perfectly….you will just have to take my word for it, LOL!  I added a sentiment from the retiring Blessings From Heaven, stamped on a Chalk Talk die and added some black glimmer brads from the Basics collection (also retiring).  Simple and easy!

Thanks for the visit today!

I got a set of chipboard letters for $1 at an Amish stamp store and I thought they would be fun for Cassidy to play with as she is learning her letters….she can identify each letter, but putting them in order (unless she is singing the ABC song) is a challenge.  But she only liked dumping them out and putting them back in the cute little birdhouse box! We’ll work on that!

Watercolor Sympathy

DSCF1305

Yay, it’s Friday!  The weekend is almost here!  Sadly, I needed a couple of sympathy cards and I thought I would show you one of them.  This is an image from the  Crafty Secrets Bird Lovers set, one of which  I’ve never inked up!!  I stamped it in Stazon on watercolor paper and quickly colored it with reinkers:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Crafty Secrets Bird's Nest Sympathy Card

The base is Crumb Cake and I did some random stamping with a bird image and some leafy branches.  The egg image is separate; I stamped it, colored it with Soft Sky ink, cut it out and adhered it; then speckled the whole shebang with an oldie but goodie, Itty Bitty Backgrounds!

DSCF1307

Finally, the verse is from SU’s Blessings from Heaven:

DSCF1308

And since there is a bird on it (upper right hand corner) as well as a bird’s nest, I am going to submit this for the Kraft Journal’s bird challenge (again!).

After Cassidy’s trip to the symphony, she pulled out the harmonica Grampy gave her and wanted to lead a parade!

RS99 & TSTR203

DSCF0531

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  A quick little card today, unfortunately a sympathy card, using The Shabby Tea Room inspiration photo and a sketch from RetroSketches:

Isn’t that a cozy inspiration photo?  Love it!  And here we go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Stampin Up Sympathy

My card base is 4 1/4”, Sahara Sand, with some MME Lost & Found Sunshine papers on which I did some stitching, then stamped some swirls, polka dots and butterflies.  My Tiny Teacup (ret SU) was also stamped in Sahara Sand ink and, channeling my inner Ann, embellished with lots of pearls!

The sentiment was stamped in Soft Suede and is from Blessings from Heaven.  Thanks for popping in today!

ColourQ 201

DSCF7128

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Arielle has a lovely color block inspiration photo today:

I should call this post the five-minute card vs. the five-hour card.  I made two cards using these colors, and one came together quickly, the other….well, I just couldn’t decide what to do with it!  Anyway, here’s the five-minute (well, it took a little longer than that!) card; I needed a sympathy card for a church friend and the colors seemed appropriate:

LeAnne Pugliese CQC201 Blessings from Heaven-2

Since the apron in the inspiration photo has graphic lines, I chose a similar style of pattern, merely embossing the different panels and adding a sentiment from Blessings from Heaven.  Although it’s difficult to see, the Soft Sky panel is embossed with the Stripes EF.  The pearls and butterfly add a little softness.

The other card uses a couple retired SU sets and a computer-generated sentiment:

LeAnne Pugliese CQC201 Seashell Birthday

I stamped the images second-generation, then cut them out and popped them up on a panels stamped in matching inks with the background stamp from French Foliage.  Pretty self-explanatory:

So…how does this color palette inspire you?  I can’t wait to see what you come up with!  Share it at the ColourQ blog and see what everyone else has created as well!

CAS Sympathy

DSCF6707

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I am late today---I had stamp camp last night where we made some nice Christmas cards, and this morning was so refreshingly cool that I relaxed a bit!  It’s a welcome relief from the hot, humid weather we’ve been having!

I needed two sympathy cards this week….I had a couple of ideas in mind and then I got my SU order with my holiday mini items, so I broke open Magnificent Maple and made a one-layer card:

LeAnne Pugliese Magnificent Maple

Again, this is one of those cards that looks so much better in real life!  I embossed the leaf with Versamark and gold embossing powder, which makes it eligible for the CASology 54 challenge, which is “gold”; I added some twine around the stem, which qualifies it for the CAS on Sunday challenge, which is kraft and twine.  After embossing it, I made a mask and stamped the French words from Nature Walk and did some sponging, then stamped the words from Blessings from Heaven.

I have received several nice cards in the mail recently and I thought I’d share one a day with you!  This one came a while back, but I don’t think I shared it; it’s from my friend Teri:

DSCF4725

Even if I did share it, it’s worth sharing again!  I love this color combo and this is one of my favorite vintage SU stamps!

Finally, Cassidy spent some time playing with her dolls and some chalk; thankfully the chalk washes off easily because she was covering every available doll surface with purple—even her scalp!

US97

DSCF2903

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Sadly, I needed another sympathy card, so I relied on this very simple sketch from Unscripted Sketches:

SK 166 US 197

and some older Basic Grey papers:

DSCF2900

The papers alone are just gorgeous, so I thought they would be good for this sketch;  I just added a little postage stamp square on which to adhere my chipboard bird, and stamped the sentiment from Blessings from Heaven in Always Artichoke ink.

Thanks for visiting today!

Paper Players 131

DSCF2717

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Are you ready to watch some football?  I will forego the SB for my beloved Downton Abbey…..although we are so close to Baltimore, I am sure I will be cheering on the Ravens at some point during the day!

Nance is our hostess for the Paper Players today, and she wants us to make a sympathy card:

I had been playing around with some beautiful MME papers and they were still on my desk, so I paired them with a pretty Pink Paislee stamp set to make a soft, subtle sympathy card:

PP131-LeAnne

I stamped the collage images in More Mustard and Sahara Sand, and the sentiment from Blessings From Heaven in Primrose Petals.  This also uses the CAS(E) This Sketch sketch #13 for this week:

Since I used this for yesterday’s card also, can you tell how much I love it?!!!   My final little embellishment is a flower I made from some crepe paper, you know, the kind that comes in a roll and you hang it for party decorations?  It was sitting a little bin at my local Habitat for Humanity thrift shop, so I snagged it, thinking I might find a use for it:

DSCF2719

I used two sizes of Blossom Nesties and smooshed it all around a brad from my stash.  Unfortunately, I DO need this card as our retired minister has passed away;  he served the Lord right up until the very end, and I know his family is rejoicing as he is now with Him in heaven!

I hope the others’ cards will inspire you to create something for our Sympathy challenge….you can see them all at the Paper Players blog!

We are working on potty training with a fairly good success rate!  Of course it helps if you are prepared for quick action:

CTD223 and DS83

DSCF2008
My friend Bev lost her mom on New Year’s Eve, and I know she is missing her terribly.  I used the Color Throwdown 223 color palette with the Deconstructed Sketch #83 to make her a card:
Deconstructed Sketch No. 83

DSCF2006
At first the colors did not appeal to me, but after seeing the design team’s samples, I thought I would give it a shot.  I decided that I liked the neutral tones with a pop of color.  I used images from Nature Walk and French Foliage, first randomly stamping on the Crumb Cake card base and embossing it with the Fancy Fan EF:
DSCF2005
and then stamping the birdcage image on a Very Vanilla oval and also doing some random stamping as well.  I added a scalloped canvas piece and I got the sentiment in the right place this time!
DSCF2007
This one is for you, Bev!  Thinking of you & praying for you.
If anyone has questions about anything I’ve used here, just shoot me an email!
