CQC287 and Muse

DSCF9233

Happy Wednesday, all!  Hope your week is going well!  I needed a really fast sympathy card, and the ColourQ challenge colors were perfect:

I also found a new-to-me challenge, the Muse Card Club, and they also have a monochromatic challenge; you can see it here. Michele’s sample is just beautiful in blue, but I wanted to use the softer hue of Blush Blossom for my notecard:

I knew I could use the Basic Gray for the sentiment, but wasn’t sure how to incorporation the black, so I added a simple grosgrain ribbon and stamped the butterfly from Papillon Potpourri in black Stazon ink, colored it with my marker and popped it up:

Clean, lovely, simple!  Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 202

DSCF3888

Happy Sunday, peeps!  What a glorious weekend it is turning out to be in PA!  I am not sure if Mother Nature is rewarding us for having to suffer through such a difficult winter, but I am taking it gladly!!!  Sandy is our hostess today for the Paper Players, and she has a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for us all:

I needed a thank you card, so I chose the middle horizontal line….but then I realized I didn’t have much green patterned paper!  Yikes, how can that be?  I searched some of my retired DP and found some SAB paper from a couple years ago, and went to work:

This is definitely a combo of old and new!  The Baja Breeze elements are all retired, as is the little heart charm (some of these might still be available on the Clearance Rack!), but the stamps are all current:  Everything Eleanor, Chalk Talk and Blooming with Kindness.  I did a little sponging to mimic the colors on the DP, and shabbied up some of the seam binding for a vintage look!

So what tic-tac-toe series will tempt you to create something this week?  Be sure to check out all the designers’ samples here:

and share yours with us as well!  We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Have you EVER seen raspberries this big?  Humongous!

FMS136 and CCMC303

DSCF3036

Two cards for you today….late, but better late than never!  It’s pouring buckets here and my routine is just a little out of whack!  The first is for the Freshly Made Sketches sketch 136:

A little Crumb Cake, a little Retro Fresh and some retired SAB stuff:

These colors just make me happy, how about you?

The second card is a CAS design from Create with Connie & Mary:

I seriously need some new floral images, but for now, Blooming with Kindness, embossed in gold, will have to do:

I used a sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts, stamped in Gold Encore ink, and mounted it on top of a couple of Watercolor Wonder gold washi tape!  It is mounted on a Brushed Gold cardbase; my friend’s mom fell and broke her arm a day or so ago, so this will be for her!  Enjoy your day….any questions, shoot me an email!

Happy Thursday, peeps!  The weekend is almost here!  I loved the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Check it out:
In my self-imposed challenge to use some sets that haven’t seen the light of day lately, I dusted off Papaya Collage and pulled out the bird.  Edited to add:  this bird is from Betsy' Blossoms, NOT Papaya Collage!!!  I am also challenged by this particular pattern from the Fresh Prints collection, most of which I LOVE, but this one is just a little out of my comfort zone.  So I paired them up and came up with this:

It’s all pretty straightforward; I did add an embossed panel just so I could anchor my ribbons behind it, but everything else is plain and simple!  I also popped up the wing as well as the “hi” with some dimensionals:

It’s pretty bright….but overall, I like it!

I also wanted to show you my original card for this week’s challenge at the Paper Players:

The theme was Spring Thank You; I love this card, but I really didn’t think the black made it very springy, so I put it aside.  But I thought I would share it anyway!  And Baja Breeze is retired, sadly….it’s still one of my favorite blues!

Cassidy “rediscovered” her homemade play-doh, and she literally played with this for about two hours…..I haven’t had her be so focused on one plaything ever!!!  She informed us she was making Christmas cookies, and she made a whole plateful!

Paper Players 162 X 2

DSCF7765

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It’s time for another Paper Players challenge, and today I am the hostess with a color challenge:

It’s fun to change things up, since there are so many fall-themed creations out there in blogland, so I went for a different palette!  And I made two cards; couldn't decide which I liked most!   My first card is pretty CAS:

I used some ribbon to create a washi effect, and just added a simple sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts:

DSCF7769

Isn’t that a sweet font?

My next card was totally CASEd by the wickedly wonderful Wendy Weixler after seeing this card on Pinterest.  I have been waiting for just the right moment to make one like it and I thought these colors were perfect, especially since SU has a bundle special for the Papillon Potpourri set and the butterfly punch!  So here we go:

LeAnne Pugliese Paper Players 163 WeeInklings Papillon Potpourri

This card is way more blinged up than I usually make!  I started by scoring my white cardstock at 1 1/4”, then stamped the floral image from Blooming with Kindness and sponged all the raised scores.  I added a couple of borders, some ribbon, a sentiment and background from Lovely Labels and of course, some glittery, rhinestone-y butterflies that were stamped with Stazon on vellum:

Now, what will you create with my colors?  Can’t wait to see!  Share it with us at The Paper Players blog and check out what the other designers did as well:
And did you know today is Grandparents' Day?!!!!

Pink Paper Bakery

DSCF4420
Hey wee ones!  Two posts today!  (If you're looking for my Merry Monday card, you can check it out here!)

I was thrilled when Deena from Pink Paper Bakery asked me to be a guest designer today!  I have been wanting to revisit an old technique that I learned when I first started stamping---Dazzling Diamond Dust!  This is a real simple technique but it has a big “wow” factor!

Basically, you stamp your image…a brightly-colored one works best!  Cover the entire image with Versamark ink--just go pat, pat, pat with the ink pad allll over your stamped surface. Then cover the entire area with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  Heat it up….and watch the sparkle!!!  Make sure you heat all the areas of the card.  Here’s my sample:

DSCF4416

I stamped the floral image from Blooming with Kindness in Calypso Coral, then added two butterflies from Papillon Potpourri.  I colored them with a Tangerine Tango marker, then did the Diamond Dust technique.  I matted it with Basic Black and mounted it on an embossed Calypso Coral panel.  Can you see the sparkle here?
DSCF4418

I dyed some seam binding with Calypso Coral ink and made a shabby bow to finish it off!  I hope you’ll try this too!  Thanks for visiting today!
