CAS Roses

Happy Monday peeps!  I didn't do much stamping yesterday, so my post today is late!  I struggled with making a CAS card today, but finally succeeded, using the following challenges:  CAS(E) This Sketch, Seize the Birthday and the Global Design Project!

My friend Martha gave me this Papertrey set, Splits: With Love, a long time ago and this is the first time I inked it up!  So here we go:

I stamped the roses in Blueberry Bushel using my Stamparatus, then cleaned the stamp, leaving it on the window, and reinked it with Versamark.  I then heat embossed it with Clear embossing powder.  That kept my outline nice and neat for my loose watercoloring!  I also stamped some leaves and little speckles, all from the same set, around the flowers.  The sentiment is from Botanical Bliss:

It all went on a Crushed Curry card base, and it really was a simple card to make, once I figured out what to do!!!  Thanks for popping in today!

The weather was definitely not February-like yesterday (and today!) so the fam took the pups for a walk:

While they were walking, an Amish horse and buggy drove by, and Dana said that Ginger whined and barked like she never did before....not sure whether she was ready to run to investigate, or to run the other way, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FF173 Punkin Pillow Inspired

Happy Tuesday, all!  A couple of weeks ago, I bought this 10" felt pillow at a church yard sale for fifty cents:

It was in a little rough shape, but I cleaned it up and put it on my chair as a sweet little fall decoration...I love it, especially for the price!  I got to thinking how fun it would be to re-create it on a card, so I went to work:

I started with the Fab Friday sketch:

I did not have any cardstock that was the warm tan color I wanted, so I brayered a piece of Very Vanilla with Crumb Cake ink (and wished I had gotten a little more even color), then using my Stamp-a-ma-jig, I stamped a little stitch line in Memento Black all around the edges.  My pumpkin is a past Close to My Heart stamp, inked in Terracotta Tile and stamped on the same color paper.  I markered in some stitching lines to mimic the pillow, then diecut some Mossy Meadow leaves, punched out some Crushed Curry berries, and added some stamped stitched lines for vines:

I also added a couple little "vines" below, diecut from Mossy Meadow as well.  My sentiment was stamped on Crumb Cake, diecut with a banner die and sponged with Soft Suede ink.  I added a birthday sentiment and greenery from Botanical Bliss on the inside:

I kinda like how it turned out!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB85 Raspberry Birthday

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Time for another Inspired By challenge....another purple challenge, they're beginning to grow on me, LOL!  Today is a special friend's special birthday, so she deserved a special card, so here we go:

And here is Laurel's delicious challenge photo:

Oh my, doesn't that look yummy?  It fit right in with my Turkey Hill Experience yesterday!  I actually had a stomach ache from eating that huge serving of ice cream they gave us!  But more about that later!  This raspberry confection prompted me to break into Blackberry Bliss, a color I hardly ever use!!!  I began by embossing my Blackberry Bliss card with the Quilt Top embossing folder, then adding a layer of Purple Posy DSP on which I stamped a birthday greeting from Botanical Bliss.  I  then stamped one of the sprays from Bloom and Grow on a piece of Purple Posy and colored the centers and berries with Blends before diecutting it out:

I like the frosty silver dishes that are in the picture, so I added some Silver Glimmer leaves, diecut from the same Budding Blooms dies, then added some silver thread and a silver metallic dot!  On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from A Wish for Everything on a white mat and added a diecut from the Well Writen dies.  Since I had a couple of scraps of Silver glimmer paper left, I punched a few hearts and added it to the sentiment, just for fun!

I hope you'll find some inspiration from the photo and share your frosty creation with us at Inspired By this week!  There is still lots of summer left, let's keep it going!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Thanks for popping in!

I won't share all our Turkey Hill pictures today, but this is what greets you when you get there:

Yep, a big COW!!!!  If you're ever in southeastern PA, you might have even seen a cow like this going down the highway on the way to a fair or parade!  It's pretty well-known!  The structure itself is very cool; not sure if it's an old building or just built to look that way, but I loved it!

Inside, they told the history of the area, how the dairy started and some fun facts about cows, milk and ice cream!  Turkey Hill uses 40,000 gallons of milk A DAY from 8000 cows to make 72 different flavors of ice cream!!!  That's a lot of milk!  And a lot of cows!!!  There are also all kinds of interactive things for the kids to do, like drive an ice cream truck:

and milk a cow....and yes, actual liquid comes out of the cow's teats!  (It was only water!)  They loved it!

I'll share some other stuff with you tomorrow!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB80 Nautical Happy Day

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Time for another Inspired By challenge, and we have a nice summery one for you!  My stamp clubs played with this Sailing Home bundle on Monday, and although this isn't the card we made, I used the leftover DSP scraps, which is always nice!  So here we go:

And here is our summery prompt:

I went more with the colors than the beachy theme for my card, since I already had this set on my desk, LOL!  I stamped the elements and diecut them out, then added brads and twine:

And before adhering everything, I lined up the papers in my Stamparatus, and stamped the lighthouse on the DSP; it's a nice subtle touch that brings the theme together!  Finally, I stamped a sentiment and diecut it with that wee little banner die....LOVE it!  I added another one in Night of Navy behind it for fun:

Finally, on the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Botanical Bliss and added another anchor diecut that I had left over:

I hope you'll come play with us, and show us your beachy/nautical creations at Inspired By this week!

A little Italian water ice is always nice on a hot summer day!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Club Projects

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  My schedule is all out of whack, it's just been too busy around here!  Yesterday was club day and since I didn't have a chance to stamp something new, I thought I would share our projects!  The first one uses the Botanical Bliss stamp set and matching die, Botanical Tags.  I had an idea in my head about using the bird tag on a card without using it as a tag, so this is what I came up with:

The cardstock size is 4 1/4" x 7, and I partially scored it at 3 1/2" but didn't fold it.  I lined up the die so that the bottom cutting portion was along the score line, die-cut it and carefully popped out the pieces, then folded it so the diecut portion stood up.  It still fits into a standard-sized envelope.  We added some Share What You Love DSP, and stamped sentiments and elements on the inside:

We also colored rhinestones with Blends!  Our second project was an Apron of Love candy treat, which was a CASE from my friend, Cindy Brumbaugh.  You can see her wonderful YouTube tutorial here.  I tweaked mine a little, using some retired ribbon for straps; each person used whatever stamp they preferred from the Apron of Love set:

Thanks for popping in today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CAS341 and CI54 A Little Hello

Happy May Day, everyone!  I am glad May is here, spring is finally sticking around!  I am playing with a new-to-me challenge today, Colour INKspiration (at their FB page) as well as the CASology turquoise challenge:
No photo description available.

I pulled out some retired colors, Tempting Turquoise and Taken with Teal, for my little wreath card today:

I stamped the greenery from Botanical Bliss twice around to create my wreath, then stamped the bird in Stazon black and fussy-cut him out.  It surprises me that SU has such a nice coordinating die for  some of the images in this set, but no bird die!!!  Anyway, I added a little sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings, backed it with a wee little black mat and popped them both up on the wreath with mini dimensionals.  The bird looked a little bare, so I added some Taken with Teal greenery diecut with the Botanical Tags die and added some of the smallest Basic Black faceted embellishments:

I diecut the panel with the largest Stitched Rectangle die, added another narrow mat of Basic Black and adhered it all to a Whisper White card....I left the inside blank so I could use it for any upcoming occasion!  Glad you popped in today---be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Inspired By challenge!

Speaking of May--we had some intense April showers last week that hopefully will bring May flowers!  Cassidy, Lee and Grampy were all out in the garage when the deluge started!  Grampy sent Lee and Cassidy to the porch with his big golf umbrella, while he used Cassidy's ladybug umbrella!  It was pretty funny!

Cassidy had forgotten all about this umbrella, so she insisted on using it instead (and putting on a fake sad face), while Lee just loved standing out and watching the rain pour down!!

But there was no playing outside after that deluge!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS385 Thinking of You

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Just a quick little post today before my stamping friends arrive, sharing a card I made with the FMS sketch for this week:

My card is a note card, which SU sells pre-cut and with envelopes...a great time-saver!  Plus the paper is Thick White cardstock, which makes it great for embossing and watercoloring!  I stamped the floral from Botanical Bliss in Stazon on a scrap of white paper, watercolored it and fussy-cut it out, then adhered it to a piece of Grapefruit Grove DSP and a strip of Gingham Gala DSP:

I did something I haven't done for a long time, which is heat emboss a background; there is a sweet little solid-image floral in that same set which I stamped in Craft White ink randomly on the card, then heat-embossed it with white embossing powder!  It gives a pretty little subtle background and is quick and easy to do on this size card!  I finished it off with a sentiment from Apron of Love:

Thanks for popping in today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for another Paper Players challenge!

Thought I would share a few more cards I received in the mail:

This little cutie is from Sandy:

And another sweet one from Linda; the yellow cardstock is shimmery--so pretty!

A beautiful one from Teri:

And one of my favorites from Ruth Ann:

And a fun one from Kathy; Cassidy said "Grammy, doesn't she know that mooses don't hatch from eggs?"  LOL!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
