FMS226 and Curtain Call Thanks

Hi everyone!  Hope you're having a wonderful week so far!  I seem to be needing a lot of thank you cards lately...here's another one using the Freshly Made Sketches sketch from Rita as well as the yummy Key Lime palette from Curtain Call:

I've been hoarding these lovely Graphic 45 papers from the Botanical Tea 6x6 pad, so I decided to put them to use:

I think this sketch is perfect since it allows that beautiful botanical paper to take center stage!  I pulled out an old SU set called Best Friends Forever and second-generation stamped it on some Very Vanilla in Wild Wasabi, then stamped the "thanks" in full-strength WW on top, using a sentiment from the Watercolor Wishes card kit.  I added a little double-layer butterfly, punched from Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper and some vellum that I stamped with white craft ink and layered on a little green chalk:  I love how the glimmer paper gives a little subtle sparkle:

Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy set up a changing table pn her nightstand for her Baby Alive doll!  First the powder and the diaper:

First layer of clothes:

Hmmm, getting that second skirt over the first one requires some gymnastics:

Finally all dressed....shoes, skirt and all!

DSCF0008
Happy beautiful Tuesday!  Spring has certainly sprung in SE PA and Arielle has a beautiful spring color combo for us today:

Yum yum!!!  These cookies are too cute to eat (not!)!!!!  Here’s my confection:
CQC129-LeAnne
I gave my Big Shot a good workout with this card, using a couple folders and the Little Leaves and Tasteful Trim dies.  I gave my corner a nice big rounding after learning from Kay Kalthoff that you can use your circle punches to round corners!  WHO KNEW???  You can see her nice video here!!!  Thanks, Kay!  What a sweetie to share this tip!  The polka dot stamp from Best Friends Forever was used to add a little interest to my Wisteria Wonder leaves, too.
I used the sketch from Retrosketches 3:
Any questions, give me a holler!  Hop on over to the ColourQ blog to see what the other designers did with this glorious combination of hues!  And we can’t wait to see what you come up with too!

Thanks for all the well wishes for my cold, too…it’s getting better, but I still can’t taste or smell anything!  Hopefully I’ll get back around to visiting & commenting on everyone’s blogs real soon!

Paper Players 81 & US144

DSCF4138-1

Hi everyone!  It’s time for another Paper Players challenge!  This time Nance is our wonderful hostess and she has a theme challenge:

Flowers!!!  That should be an easy challenge---but I have so many floral images, which one to choose?!  I ended up just making some diecut flowers, very simple, and pairing them with some bright fun papers.  First, I used the Unscripted Sketches sketch 144:

And here we go:

PP81

Although it is difficult to see, I stamped each flower with a polka dot image, and the Very Vanilla one has been embossed with white embossing powder to make it stand out:

DSCF4140

I wanted to put buttons in the centers of my flowers, but I am striving to make my cards less bulky to mail, so I opted for some little hearts punched with the Owl Builder punch.  Stitching and a shabby bow finish it off.  I hope you can find some flowers---any kind---to embellish your stamped creation this week!  And be sure to visit the Paper Players blog to see all the other fabulous floral finds!  Again, if you have any questions about my card, shoot me an email---but please be sure to give me your email address so I can reply!

John gave Cassidy a piece of celery to try; she took a lick and gave it right back to him!

I guess celery is an acquired taste!!!  Enjoy your day!

Pumpkin Patch

DSCF9509

You know I lament about my lack of scrapping skills, but I have a workshop tonight and there are scrappers there, so I wanted to try to make a current page to show them!  I have also been playing around with my Timeless Type alphabet dies and the Sissix Adhesive Sheets----a marvelous invention that allows you to adhere those little tiny diecut pieces without getting glue all over everything!  So here we go, and please don’t laugh too much about how bad my stamped alphabet is (because I am too lazy to use my stamp-a-ma-jig!):

DSCF9508

DSCF9514 DSCF9510 DSCF9511 DSCF9513DSCF9512

I made some cute pumpkins with circle & oval punches and the Swirls & Scribbles die, which I also backed with an adhesive sheet for easy glue-down.  To use the adhesive sheet, cut a piece of it to fit your DP or cardstock; peel off the backing and stick the adhesive side to the back of your paper.  Run it through your diecutting machine with the good side down.  Voila, you have your own stickers!! Just peel off the backing and adhere to your project!

All the stamped images are from SU’s set Best Friends Forever, which added a perfect blend of elements and nature!  I am also submitting this to the Our Creative Corner challenge which is pumpkins!!  Thanks for visiting today!

Wee Details:

ColourQ101, JUGS 100

DSCF6465

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I am lamenting my lack of mojo today, hopefully it will be coming back soon; I think it must have stayed in Delaware at the beach! Arielle has a gorgeous color combo for you today:

cqc101

It’s actually close to the combo I did last week! I wanted to use the JUGS sketch 100 from this week, too:

JUGS100

and came up with this:

CQC101-LeAnne

It sort of looks like it is glowing, doesn’t it? That Orchid Opulence is a tough color to photograph! I used some elements from Best Friends Forever and Tiny Tags, along with SU’s bird punch. The body is stamped with the polka dot image and the wing is stamped with the crosshatch heart image. I hung a few little tags from the Pool Party ruffled ribbon:

DSCF6463

Unfortunately, you can’t see them all! I like the inside more:

DSCF6466

Used my leftover piece from the Tasteful Trims die and a sentiment from Friendly Phrases. This card is for someone who did a really, really, nice thing for us—and I’ll share that later on! I hope you can participate in the ColourQ this week—we’d love to see your creation---pop on over there and show us your stuff!

While on vacation, I had the wonderful opportunity to spend a little time with a new stamping/blogging friend, Linda Fisher! She has a wonderful blog and with a punch in her hand, is one of the most creative people I know! Her punch art is AMAZING! (You need to check out her blog, seriously!) Here we are, checking out the aisles of a LSS:

155_5555

She is as sweet as can be and I am thrilled we got to meet; I look forward to seeing her again soon, maybe during my next trip to see my dad!

Thank you for all the thoughts & prayers for Cassidy. She is still very sick….poor thing is just miserable. I did snag a picture of her from her alternate babysitter on a happier day:

Hopefully she’ll be smiling like this again soon! Thanks for visiting!

PPA103 Thanks

DSCF2435

Squeaking in a quick little vintagey thank you card tonight using the Pals Paper Arts sketch 103:

PPA103

I used some more Beau Chateau DP as well as a matching Side Note, trimmed a little and stamped with various “thank you” sentiments.  (I notice that when I stamp in Early Espresso on these notes, the ink looks gray or black---keep that in mind if you use them too!)  Okay, enough chat, here it is:

DSCF2433

I stamped the larger tag from Lots of Tags with the flourish from Best Friends Forever as well as on polka-dotted panel and the Side Note:

DSCF2436

I added a little shabbied-up embossed heart, too, along with some Victoria crochet trim and a Vintage Trinket pin:

Best Friends Forever

DSCF2377

One of the sets on my wish list from the new catalog was Best Friends Forever. Imagine my thrill when I opened my tote at convention, and there it was! I combined it with Word Play to alter a Hodgepodge Hardware tin to give to one of my club hostesses, filled with a few little goodies. Here it is:

DSCF2375

The photo doesn’t really capture how pretty it is! I used all the images from the set except for the “BFF”. Using Island Indigo Patterns DP, I embossed the leaf image in the bottom left corner with Versamark ink and clear embossing powder, then sponged it with II ink to bring out the embossing:

DSCF2378

The other elements were stamped in Island Indigo, Chocolate Chip and Pool Party, including the heart, the polka dot and the flourish, which is on the butterfly:

DSCF2376

I also stepped waaaay out of my comfort zone and used the Glass Glitter on my butterfly. For some reason, it makes me nervous to use this----it’s just a little more intense than I usually like!!! There is an Island Indigo brad in the center of my Chocolate Chip flower and a little embellishment of Pool Party ruffled ribbon:

DSCF2377-1

To cover up the words on the bottom of the tin, I covered it with the new Chocolate Chip scallop dots ribbon, adhered with Sticky Strip:

DSCF2379

The tin is filled with lots of little bits & pieces of doodads from my stamp table….punch-outs, ribbons, stamped images, buttons…..and I think the sentiment “Imagine the Possibilities” is perfect for it! Thanks for visiting today!
