RRCB88 Anything Goes

Hi peeps!  Tuesday brings another Retro Rubber Challenge, and this week, it's Anything Goes!  Just make sure you use stamps that are least one year old and be sure to tell us how old they are!!

Image may contain: text

For my card today, I pulled out a pretty set from 2006 called Beautiful Beach, and did some watercoloring, embossing and fussy-cutting!

I did some loose watercoloring on a piece of SU Watercolor paper with Soft Sky and Crumb Cake inks, then stamped my images in Crumb Cake after the paper dried, and fussy-cut them out.  I inked up the inside of the Seaside embossing folder, inserted another piece of Very Vanilla and ran it through the Big Shot, which transferred the ink to the debossed side.  I stamped the line of shells right under the  main panel, added a sentiment from the same set in Early Espresso inside and out,

and finished it off with some sequins and linen thread.  And here's the inside:

I also used the sketch from In(k)spire Me:

Okay, so the field is wide open...use any stamps over a year old!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Share it with us at Retro Rubber this week!

Homemade cookies always bring a smile!

TGIF71, SIP64 and CASology 214 Seashells

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I am switching gears, going back to summery stamping, when I saw the CASology challenge of Beach!  It was too good to pass up!  I combined it with the Less is More challenge from Stamp, Ink, Paper and the TGIF color challenge:

SIP Challenge 64 - CAS

The colors in the TGIF challenge were unique together so I used them sparingly, stamping the large and small shell from the retired set Stipple Shells in Sweet Sugarplum, and another small one in Rich Razzleberry.  The speckles (Gorgeous Grunge) were stamped in Blushing Bride and the sentiment (ret. Beautiful Beach) was stamped in Rich Razzleberry.  I added a few sequins, mounted it on a Very Vanilla card base and called it a day at the beach!

I did pop up two of the small shells just for fun!  Thanks for visiting today!

I neglected to share a pretty card Cassidy got for her birthday that my friend Doris made; it's a shaker card with birdseed in it!  So fun!  She gave Cassidy some stickers too!

And here's a closeup of the card:

I love the shading on the bird....so realistic!  Thanks, Doris!

MTS130 and CCMC412

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you all had a great weekend!  I've got a pretty little birthday card for a sweet lady in my church who will be celebrating her 95th birthday!  I chose the sketch from Match the Sketch and the colors from Create with Connie & Mary:

CCMC412

I wanted to use the pretty By The Shore DSP because I just love that starfish pattern, so I pulled out an older retired set called Beautiful Beach and went to work:

I used the banner punch to create the banner; I stamped the horizontal pieces with the "grid" from Best Birds; I diecut a scalloped square of Pool Party with the new Layering Squares Framelits, and stamped some splatters from Gorgeous Grunge; and finally, I stamped the starfish in Blushing Bride:

I added a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and a few sequins from a Paper Pumpkin kit!  Now it's ready to go in the mail!  Thanks for peeking in today!

We had the Life Celebration for my FIL on Saturday; it's always a sweet reminder that even though we are saying goodbye to a loved one, the future generations are there to help us wipe away our tears! Cassidy and our nephew's son Zion made us all laugh....Cassidy delighted in making Zion giggle and helped his mommy feed him...she'll be a good mommy someday herself!  And look at that...they even dressed alike!

Have a blessed day!

PP258 CAS Beach

DSCF1460-001
Happy Sunday, everyone!  Hope you are enjoying your weekend!  It’s time for another Paper Players challenge, and this week I am the hostess with a clean and simple theme:  the BEACH!
It’s a little joke here on the east coast…some people say they’re going to the “shore” and others say they’re going to the “beach”.  I like to say I am going to the shore and then once I am there, I go to the beach, LOL!  Whatever way you say it, you can’t deny the pull of the ocean, sand and salt air!  So many ways to interpret it….I actually had another idea in mind for my card when I came up with this theme, but I started playing around with some watercolor paper, inks and water and ended up with this:
LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 258 CAS Beach Impression Obsession Stampin Up
Just a couple of swishes of Soft Sky and Sahara Sand; a line of Lost Lagoon; a sentiment and a few hand-painted seagulls, and it was done.  I added a starfish, some Gorgeous Grunge speckles and burlap ribbon for a simple embellishment:

And isn’t this a lovely sentiment?  This is from an older Impression Obsession set, stamped in Early Espresso:

The rope is also from the same set, and the starfish is from SU’s retired Beautiful Beach.  This is also for the City Crafter Challenge blog’s beautiful theme board:
I can’t wait to see your CAS beachy creations!  Share them with us at the Paper Players blog, and meanwhile, check out the other lovely beachy cards the DT has come up with:
Yesterday we had Cassidy’s “pretend” birthday party, which is what she called it because her real birthday is tomorrow!  She had a Tinkerbell/fairy theme, and my daughter did a great job with decorations and costumes!

Of course, we also had a “slipping slide”, as Cassidy calls it!  The day was perfect….warm, not too hot, a nice breeze….it was great!   I’ll share more as the week goes by!

And today, we’re headed to a pre-season Eagles football game….I have a chance to sit in a box seat, so this will probably be the one-and-only time I’ll ever attend a game!  Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 148

DSCF5362

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Happy June!   How is your weekend going?  I am pre-posting this, so I am hoping that I am having a fabulous time with my three college roommates, despite the fact that I did break my toe on Thursday night!  Yikes!  You don’t know how much you rely on a body part until it doesn’t work right!   Anyway, Jaydee has a perfectly-timed theme challenge for us at the Paper Players, because the temps here in PA have been positively summer-like:

Nothing says “summer” to me more than the beach, so I pulled out a beachy set from my stash and started stampin’!

PP148-LeAnne

I used Daffodil Delight and Crisp Cantaloupe for my shell and starfish,

dying some white seam binding to match for my scrunchy bow!

A little embossing and some corduroy buttons, and it was done.  I used last week’s RetroSketches sketch and the color challenge from this week’s Catered Crop, which is yellow!  These colors together make me happy!  And remember, if you have any questions, please send me an email…my address is at the top right section of my blog!

Now, what speaks “summer” to you?  Maybe it’s a color combo, an image or even a photo for a scrapbook layout!  Please share your creation with us at the Paper Players so we can enjoy it too!  And while you’re there, be sure to check out the summery creations the other designers have come up with!

Did you know that a plastic container makes a good “car” for all your Fisher Price people?

Hey, summer could mean “road trip”!!!!

Summer Starfish

DSCF5054

I was able to squeak in some stamping time yesterday, in between cleaning and working, and I made a card for three challenges:  Our Creative Corner’s Buttons ‘n Burlap or Bows; The Kraft Journal’s Good Ole Summertime Make It Monday Challenge; and the iSpy Sketches sketch #20.  Here’s the iSpy sketch:

and here’s my “good ole’ summertime” card:

DSCF5052

I used a Crumb Cake base; some papers from Pink Paislee’s Indigo Bleu line; stamps are retired SU Beautiful Beach and Lizzie Anne’s Shore Thoughts.  I added a burlap panel and some buttons; the starfish is sparkly, but you can’t see it from here!  If you have any questions, please shoot me an email!  Have a great day—stay cool!  It’s HOT here today!
