ColourQ 78

DSCF0257

It’s Tuesday, and that means another ColourQ challenge! Today’s soft colors had me running to some BG Porcelain paper……I just love candy colors like this:

cqc78

And here’s my card:

CQC78_LeAnne-1

Although the pinks in this paper are a bit darker than the challenge, it was too pretty to pass up! (I just love to let the paper do the work!) I had the “lace” already cut from another project, so I added a little border ribbon of Whisper White, shabby flower & leaf (all from the BG paper), a bird cut from the Merry Details diecut, and I blinged it up with a line of rhinestones. A tiny bit of stamping on the corners of my Crumb Cake card with the vine from Fresh Cuts, and my card was done! We hope you can play along too with these yummy candy colors! Be sure to check back at the CQC blog to see what the designers and the participants have come up with! Happy Stamping!

DSCF8014-1

Woohoo! Lots going on today in our little corner of blogland! First, it’s ColourQ time, and here is Arielle’s inspiration for you all to peruse:

cqc74!

Aren’t these colors fun? They were just right for a special card for a special someone whose birthday just happens to be TODAY!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TAMMY!!!!! And to celebrate, we’re having a BLOG HOP to honor Tammy! We hope you’ll follow along and play with us too---and if you can use the CQC colors, that’s even better! Tammy is such an awesome crafter—she has a heart of gold, is a great encourager and her creativity knows no bounds! She is always quick to get things organized and is a great Christian wife, mom and friend. Love ya, GF!

So first, let me give you a couple of details about the hop! It starts at Barbara’s blog here. That’s where you’ll head if you want to start at the very beginning, or if you want to see all the participants! From my blog, you’ll want to hop next to visit Kristin! All along the way, you’ll see amazing creations all created for our friend Tammy. So we hope you’ll show her some love too. If you want to mail her your card, just let me or Bar know and we can give you her snail mail address! So on to the hop! Here’s the card I’m sending to Tammy:

CQC74_LeAnne

I used a digi image and sentiment from Arielle and did some paper piecing with various BG and SU papers:

I have lots of scallops on my card, which qualifies it for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge 82 as well! A couple of buttons and some crinkly ribbon, along with a my “friend” sentiment from SU’s You’re A Gem finished it off. Another quilt-themed sentiment from Arielle graces the inside:

CAS Kraft

DSCF6469

Just a quick post today, lots to do!  I used the Little Red Wagon challenge 66 (kraft) along with the Clean & Simple Fall to Layout 125:

FTL125

to make  a card for my 17-year-old nephew, who is a numbers/math/science kinda geek…I mean that in a nice way, he’s really a brainiac!

DSCF6470

Crumb Cake is the base; Cajun Craze for the mat; BG’s Basics Kraft were used for the panels; Tim Holtz mini brads for the embellies!  The sentiment is from Curly Cute.  I am sure what’s on the inside will be more important than what’s on the outside!! Have a great day, everyone!

First Birthday Cupcake

DSCF6332-1

I had a request to make a baby girl’s first birthday card, and it gave me a chance to use my new Hello Cupcake Pure Innocence stamp that a {sweet} friend recently gave me!  I also managed to incorporate four challenges as well:

So here we go:

DSCF6333

I thoroughly enjoyed making this card!  I got to use some BG Nook & Pantry cupcake paper as well as some other scraps in my pile.  The sentiment was computer generated….a little coloring, a little glitter, some luscious pink satin ribbon, a line of stitching around the edge and a little lace from my sewing stash finished it off!

DSCF6332

Thanks for visiting today!

  • Stamps:  Hello Cupcake, MFT
  • Paper:  Pink Pirouette, Shimmery White, Close to Cocoa, Baja Breeze Patterns DP, BG Nook & Pantry
  • Ink:  Memento Black
  • Acc:  Copics, Nesties, Oval & Oval Scallop Punches, DD Glitter, SU Satin Ribbon, lace from my stash, sewing machine, dimensionals

Color Throwdown 126 & SSSC101

DSCF6324

Hey there, everyone!  It’s Wednesday and that means Color Throwdown!  Today, Danielle is our hostess and she has chosen these earthy colors to throw down:

swatch 126

I am feeling a little under the weather, so I did an easy card using some wonderful BG papers that I found that had most of the colors I needed!  I also used the Sweet Sunday Sketch #101:

SSSC101

I chose to make mine square in order to fit my DP better:

CTD126

My sentiment is a digi from my friend Arielle’s little shop, Wax Fruit Company.  I printed it on Whisper White, then brayered it with River Rock and stamped Sanded in Crumb Cake over top.  My Copic selection is not too extensive, so the color’s not quite Marina Mist!  The flourish is from Verve’s A Cup of Life.

DSCF6323

My single embellishment is a little shabby flower made from the various DPs using my Boho Blossoms punch .  All in all, a pretty easy card which will go to a friend who is going through a rough time right now!

Be sure to check out what the other CTD designers have come up with this week:

DSCF6322

  • Stamps:  Sanded; A Cup of Life, Flourishes
  • Paper:  Marina Mist, Early Espresso, WW, Old Olive, BG Stella Ruby & Lemonade
  • Ink:  Crumb Cake, River Rock
  • Acc:  Nesties, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Boho Blossom Punch, Brad, Dimensionals, Dauber

CPS95

DSCF4099

I have two cards today, both winter birthdays, both use the same Card Patterns Sketch 95:

Print

The first is a masculine card; it uses a new SU set from the Occasions Mini called Plane & Simple, although other than the main compass image, you can’t see much of the other images!  Here you go:

DSCF4095

I used Bravo Burgundy cardstock with some Figgy and Basics Kraft  BG papers.  I used two different sizes of Labels Four Nesties for my main image, as well as using the Small Star and Word Window punch for my embellishments.  The images are stamped in Chocolate Chip and Bravo Burgundy ink.

DSCF4096

My next one is more feminine and fun; I used a really cute Mo Manning image; this little snowman seems to be very popular, as I’ve seen him around in several places!

DSCF4097

I printed him on SU’s Shimmery White paper, which I have discovered works very well with Copics!  I did forget to add some glitter to his snow, so I’ll do that before I send this out!  The papers are from a kit that I won a while back at Taylored Expressions; the tinsel is some I picked up at a little shop nearby; I adhered some of the snowflake punchouts from the MS punch to the upper left side and added some itty bitty rhinestones for some shine.  I also had a glittered snowflake punchout from another project so I stuck that on there as well!  Here’s the inside, which uses a sentiment from Whippersnapper’s Winter Schminter:

DSCF4100

If you have any questions, just email me!  And thanks so much for visiting today!  The countdown to Christmas is on, so who knows how much stamping/posting any of us will be able to accomplish in the next few days!  I am almost done….just a few last minute things to do!  How about you?

JUGS49 Wedding Card

DSCF0035

A customer of mine requested a wedding card in purple, so I stamped a couple and thought I would share this one.  It uses the JUGS sketch challenge 49:

JUGS49-001

And here’s the card:

DSCF0033

I am not 100% sure I like this….but I made several and if she doesn’t like it, I’ll have one for my stash!  It uses Wisteria DP by Basic Grey as well as several SU sets.  I scored some really pretty double-sided satin picot ribbon while on vacation and used it for the vertical panel.  Thanks for visiting today!  And here’s a picture of my sleepy girl:

109_4494

  • Stamps:  God’s Blessings, Punch Potpourri, Graceful Words (ret)
  • Paper:  Naturals Ivory, Elegant Eggplant, Vellum CS, Very Vanilla, BG Wisteria
  • Ink:  Elegant Eggplant
  • Acc:  Chantilly Trim, Satin Ribbon, Boho Blossoms Punch, Large Heart Punch, Sponge Dauber

CAS79 x Two

DSCF8779

Today’s CAS79 challenge is gardens; I seem to use this CHF garden sentiment a lot, and pulled it out again for today.  I have to admit, these are two REALLY CAS cards….if you’re looking for fancy schmancy, it’s not here.  The first one has very little stamping, just the sentiment and Linen stamped over a digital image that was printed on some BG Porcelain paper:

DSCF8778

The card base is Blushing Bride and the mat is BG Lily Kate.  The digital image is from Karen’s Whimsy—a fun site!  This will be a get-well card for my SIL.    My next card is the total opposite of the above card and has no stamping at all, except the sentiment inside.  My sister and I went yard saling on Saturday and she found me a musty-smelling 1961 reader full of Dick and Jane images….perfect for fun cardmaking!  (Elise, are you reading this?)  I looked through for a garden image and came up with this:

DSCF8780

If you’re of a certain age, you’ll remember these images---and of course, haven’t we all run through a corn field in our Mary Janes and little red dress?  OF COURSE!!  Anyway, I mounted the illustration on some BG Recess paper,  did a computer-generated sentiment and added a vintage button:

DSCF8782

Poor Jane!  Just look at the expression of terror on her face, being lost in the corn field:

DSCF8781

Well, enough of teasing Jane….I haven’t quite decided to whom this card will go….I have a lot of friends and relatives who are “of that certain age” and I am sure one of them will appreciate my humor!  Thanks for visiting today!!!

Color Throwdown #89

Woohoo!  I am the hostess for today’s CTD, and these are the colors I have chosen:

swatch 89

My inspiration was some beautiful Wisteria paper from Basic Grey; so many yummy patterns from which to choose!  Be sure to check back on the CTD blog for all the participation details and play along with us…I would love to see what beautiful creations you can come up with using these colors!  And of course, they’re ALL retiring, so let’s give them some love!

I needed a get well card for a sweet friend who recently had some surgery, so this is what I made for her:

DSCF7589

I remembered some stamps I had from Starving Artiststamps, these cute little dragonflies, and I thought they would be perfect for this card, which also uses the Unscripted Sketch #51 for this week:

US51

They are stamped in SU’s Basic Gray and colored with Copics;  I added some bling to them:

DSCF7591

and I pierced the bottom of the card freehand, following the scallops….I thought it came out pretty good!  Oh, I added some bling there too:

DSCF7590-1

And the inside, with a sentiment from Waltzingmouse:

DSCF7592

Thanks for visiting today!  Be sure to stop by the other designers’ blogs for more creations using these colors:

If you have any questions about anything used here, please send me an email! Have a blessed day!

CAS Christmas

DSCF7444

Well, my Christmas card Sunday turned into Christmas card Monday!  The CAS challenge today at SCS was to make a card with a sentiment as your only stamped image…no problem!  I am not sure if this really qualifies as a CAS, but it worked for me.

DSCF7441

I used a retired SU set for my sentiment, some BG papers and some punched branches and snowflake….although I think after the glitter dries on my snowflake, I’ll add some bling….it looks a bit naked there!  The sketch I used was from Stampin 411:

ssc145

I’m going to end here as my spring allergies have kicked in and I am feeling funky….and I have a busy day ahead!  Be sure to stop in tomorrow for the ColourQ challenge—Arielle has chosen a marvelous combo!  Thanks for visiting!
