AHSC513 Hello Baby

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Well, this February we've celebrated a big birthday, a big wedding, and this weekend a big baby shower!  I guess I should be glad we haven't had any snow to mess up the plans!  John's nephew and wife will be having a GIRL!!!  Finally!  So I couldn't wait to make a little baby girl card for her shower; I used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

I didn't use quite as many horizontal panels on my card, but I pulled out some pretty pastels from this year's DSP collection and here's what I came up with:

After cutting my DSP into 1" strips and mounting on a Basic White card, I stamped the baby shoes in Smoky Slate ink and added just a wee bit of shading, then fussy- cut them out.  I cut out a filigree heart from the retired Be Mine Stitched Hearts dies and popped the little shoes on top:

Teeny Tiny Wishes came to the rescue once again for a wee little sentiment, punched out with the retired Word Windoe punch:

And I stamped a sentiment from Technique Tuesday's Beauty of Spring on the inside, with another couple of diecut hearts:
She's due in late March, can't wait to see her!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI 275 Welcome Little One

Happy Friday, everyone!  Time for a new As You See It challenge, and we have a fun "recipe" for you...you must use all the "ingredients" in the recipe to create your project!  So here we go:

I need a baby shower card for my niece, so the recipe worked perfectly!  It's a really simple card:

My diecut is the large banner from Stylish Shapes; the embossing folder is the retired Perfect Polka Dots on the banner; the "B" is blue, bird and baby rattle; the subtle color is Balmy Blue; and the something shiny are the glittery clouds on this fun printed paper!  My sentiment and the bird are from the very old Nursery Necessities and the rattle is from the also-retired Holiday Blitz:

And here's a picture of the big sparkly cloud...so hard to capture that sparkle!

I hope you'll visit the As You See It blog and play along with our fun recipe and create a no-calorie treat for someone today!  Thanks for stopping in....enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP514 Baby Boy Sketch

Hi peeps!  Sunday means a new Paper Players challenge with Jaydee as our hostess with a fabulous sketch---a sketch with THREEs!!!

I do love things with threes!!!  Recently I attended a "Meet and Greet" for a young couple who adopted a baby boy just as the Covid pandemic started.  No baby shower, no cuddling the newborn, seeing him in the nursery at church; just quarantining with the three of them as they waited things out!  So they finally felt comfortable enough to have friends and family to an outdoor get-together and it was delightful!  He's six months old now and just such a cutie!  Anyway, this card was to "re-celebrate" this special event:

Someone recently gave me a huge 12x12 pad of baby-themed DSP, so I pulled out this fun print, added some matching cardstocks and went to work.  Another page had the blue elements; I punched them out, diecut a border for the main one and stamped a sentiment from the retired A Dozen Thoughts:

I added a Marina Mist ribbon and it was done!  I love this sketch and you might just see it again sometime soon!

What will you create with this sketch?  It's coming up to the busiest card-making season of the year, so this may be a great way to make some quick, easy cards using our awesome sketch!  Check out what the Design Team did with it as well as the Paper Players blog!  See you there!

Good old Highlights magazine provides fun activities while waiting for dinner!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

FF135 and IM346 Baby Shower Cards

Hi peeps!  I got in some stamping time yesterday; a customer asked me for a baby shower card in mint green and gray.  I scoured my favorite blogs and came up with a couple of sketches, and went to work!  The first one uses the sketch from Fab Friday (and I realize I forgot the bow!!!):

and a set called Little Cuties....I got this last year and never used it!!  I stamped the hobby horse in Memento Black, colored it with markers and blends, and paired it with some Close to My Heart papers:

The only shower stamp I have is from Teeny Tiny Wishes....I stamped it in Basic Gray, diecut and layered it and adhered it to the inside:

To give my customer a choice, I made another one; not quite mint green, but I thought these papers from Studio Calico were really cute!  I used the sketch from In(k)spire Me:

I used a couple of retired SU sets:  Nursery Necessities and A to Z:

I just love that elephant's little tail!!  A few layers and some Soft Sky twine were the embellishments, and I used the same sentiment on the inside!

Thanks for popping in today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for our next Paper Players challenge!

DSCF3148

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Try Stampin’ on Tuesday had such a great sketch this week, I just had to play!  When I was a kid, I remember this Mondrian style and thinking it was so cool!  So here’s the sketch:

Are you tired of seeing these papers?!  I had them on my desk (still) from the baby card I made earlier this week, and since I needed a baby boy shower card, I just picked out a few more for the sketch:

The little duck from Storybook Friends (one of SU’s cutest ever sets!) was the perfect size to fit in the lower right-hand block; I stamped him on some Whisper White cardstock, colored him a wee bit and fussy-cut him out, then stamped him again on the printed paper and mounted him on top!  He is so sweet, squawking out his “hooray”!, don’t you think?

DSCF3150

The “hooray” is from the same set, just cut out with a Nestabilities banner:

and I stamped a sentiment and another little critter on the inside as well:

I am also submitting this to the Stamp, Ink Paper challenge for this week, which is “Cardmaker’s Choice”!!

DSCF8506

Happy Thursday, everyone!  Wow, this week is zipping by!  I have had these little elements sitting on my desk, unused, for a few weeks now.  I was going to use them on another project but changed my mind.  I finally put them to use for a baby shower card I need for this weekend, and the RetroSketches sketch was inspiration.  Here it is:

and here’s the card:

Images are from Every Little Bit, stamped in Stazon and colored with markers and a blender pen; sentiment is from Baby Bundle.  BG paper is from MME’s Nostalgia line.  I also promised to show you some pictures from my upline meeting; I mostly got pix of cards and projects, and only one of my upline Pennie:

DSCF8396

She did an amazing amount of work to get this ready, and brought it all from Washington state to Pennsylvania!  Over the next few days, I’ll show you a few cards & projects.  This is a fabric-covered pumpkin, which sent me scurrying to find that pumpkin I know I have in my craft room somewhere:

And this adorable clothespin wreath was made by my incredibly talented friend Barbara:

and this is her swap card, which she gave me even though I ran out of mine:

Oh my gosh…it’s just beautiful!  Puts my CAS little swap to shame!

And finally, a shot of Cassidy….we have her pool drained and almost ready to go into storage, but she still likes to play in the rainwater it caught:

Be sure to stop by tomorrow when I’ll have my shabby-ribbon tutorial for you!

More Babies!

DSCF4056

My daughter & I attended a baby shower yesterday, so we needed two baby cards!  I loved that the mom-to-be immediately asked my daughter if she made the card!!!  Here they are:

DSCF4055

This uses the new Easy Events set I got at convention---it was already on my wish list, and I’m telling you, if you could only get one set this year, this would be it!  You’ve got almost all your bases covered with this cute set!  I quickly stamped it, colored it with markers and I was done!

Here is the other one using another cute set, Baby Bundle:

DSCF4058

Can you tell she’s having a boy?!  I did some quick coloring with a blender pen on this one---both were quick and fun to do!  Now here’s a photo of Miss Squirm Worm from the shower in a rare moment of stillness:

It’s getting more & more challenging to keep her occupied!

Now here’s another birthday card I received from Denise:

Paper Players 55

DSCF2234

Happy Sunday, happy Paper Players challenge to you all!  Today Lesley is our hostess with the mostest, and she is giving us a color challenge:

Challenge 55 swatch

My daughter & I are attending a baby shower today for my niece, who is having a baby boy in August.  I had seen this adorable card by the uber-talented Linda Fisher and thought it would be cute for the mom-to-be, and would fit the color challenge as well:

DSCF2234-1

Here’s a quick breakdown of the parts of Mr Lamb:

  • Face (Basic Gray):  Small oval punch (old style)
  • Ears:  1/2” Circle Punch, cut in half
  • Eyes:  1/4” Circle Punch, WW & Basic Gray, cut in half
  • Forelock:  Boho Blossoms Punch (smallest flower)
  • Chest:  Scallop Circle Punch
  • Body:  Nestability 2 3/8” Scallop Diecut
  • Feet:  Modern Label Punch, trimmed
  • Scallop Trim: Tasteful Trims diecut, Itty Bitty Punch Pack Heart Punch

DSCF2231

I also stamped A to Z in White Craft ink along the right side of the card; the Poppy Parade panel is embossed with the Backgrounds 1 Texturz plate, and I used a little Neutrals button on my sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Punch art is always fun to make, and this was no exception!  We hope you’ll gambol over to the Paper Players blog and try your hand at this pretty color combo!  You may be chosen as a Cut Above or Headliner!

Cassidy has her own little lamb and loves to “kiss” it, (which really means biting his ears)!!!  LOL!
