AYSI373 Speedy Tulips

Happy Friday! Time for a new As You See It challenge, and it's SPEED STAMPING time!  Woohoo!  For this challenge, we are asking you to stamp a card in ten minutes or less, and show us your time!  You can assemble all your supplies ahead of time, but once you start stamping/diecutting/adhering, you're on the clock!  So here's our prompt this week:

I don't have many tulip stamps--maybe one--but I do have a wee little tulip die that I bring out every now and then, and since it's small I was pretty sure I could fit it into my ten-minute time frame!  So here we go:

I really love the combination of Poppy Parade and Pool Party, so when I saw this big polka dot print DSP in my scrap bin, I thought it would be great for a bright red tulip!  It comes with this little frame die, and I already had this piece of white cardstock embossed and unused, so I ran everything through the Big Shot , did some stamping and punching, and called it done!  Hopefully you can't see the glue that oozed out while trying to adhere that skinny little frame, LOL!

Since I had some time left, I did add some red enamel dots for pizzazz!  And since the Just Add Ink challenge this week is "Polka Dots", I am entering it there!

And here's my time:

Not bad!  I hope you'll not be scared off by our speed stamping challenge!  Just keep it simple, bright and fun!  Share it with us over at the As You See It blog, and don't forget to give us your time!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI372 Array of Seashells

Happy Friday, all! Time for a new As You See It  theme challenge and it's one I just love!  Here we go:

I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps for my card:

I pulled out an older Close to My Heart stamp set, did some heat embossing and coloring, and here we go:

I stamped the images with Pecan Pie ink and before taking them out of the Stamparatus, I inked them again with Versamark and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder.  Then I watercolored them with reinkers and fussy-cut them out.  I embossed a piece of Everyday Happiness DSP with a rope embossing folder, then layered all the shells on top, along with a piece of burlap ribbon and a sweet sentiment from an older Crafty Secrets set:

Another couple of CS sentiments went on the inside:

I just love beachy things, so creating this was a lot of fun!  I hope you'll play along with our beachy-shell themed challenge this week at As You See It as well!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

As You See It 371 Recipe in Pink

Hello all!  Happy Friday! It's time for a new As You See It challenge, and this week, it's Recipe time!  Here we go:

My friend Colleen recently made a gorgeous postage-style card (you can see it HERE) and she inspired me to get out my postage dies and stamps and put them to use! I only used hers as a starting point, as she did neutrals and vintage.  Mine is decidedly PINK and floral:

I already had this Pink Pirouette diecut "frame" in my Pink Pirouette folder, so I used that as my starting point. I stamped images from the retired Hand-Penned Petals on the frame as well as on one of the postage stamps, and used the dies from the same set to create some detailed flowers.  The little seed packet image is from the retired Flowering Rain Boots.  I added a sentiment from Hero Arts as well as some postage stamp elements from Waffle Flower:

My final addition was a wee little bit of grosgrain ribbon for accent.  It was fun to mix and match these images and sets, do some stamping and sponging, then put it all together! I hope you'll find something to create using our "recipe" this week at As You See It!  Can't wait to see what comes of it!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI3701 Birthday Dogs

Happy Friday, all!  The As You See It challenge this week is the fun "Fill in the Blank"!  This month's challenge is HERE:

This was an easy one for me, and even easier because I was just on a roll making some really fun BIRTHDAY cards with some new papers I just got!  Masculine birthday cards are always a challenge and these papers from Craft Consortium are called The Collector, and they have a plethora of marvelous assorted vintage images.  They are SO amazing, all I did for this card was to add a sentiment tag; I let the paper do all the work!  Here we go:

Since the papers are 6x6, and I didn't want to cut off any of these cute pups, I made my Basic Beige card 4 1/4" x 6 1/4", then just added a panel of the paper on top.  I diecut a Basic Beige tag, stamped a sentiment from Lasting Joy in Early Espresso, gave it a little sponging to mimic the vintage look and tied it with some Linen Thread:

I added another sentiment to match on the inside and called it all good!  Easy peasy!  I am sure a lot of you send out many birthday cards as well as Christmas, but you may have another occasion that you send out lots of cards for as well.  Halloween comes to my mind, as I have TONS of Halloween stamps, LOL, and I love to use them all!

I hope you'll share your creation with us at As You See It this week  Thanks for visiting my blog, enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI369 Happy Birthday Sundae

Happy Friday, everyone! Hope you have some fun plans this weekend!  It's time for a new As You See It Challenge, and it's a lovely color challenge:

I love the Easter egg cookies in this basket, but I am pretty much done my Easter cards, so I chose another bunny to go with my pastel colors!  Here we go:

Since the Just Add Ink challenge this week is to add stripes, I stamped the bottom left corner with the Painted Stripes stamp in Soft Sea Foam, then added a little Soft Sea Foam strip, diecut with a Wonky Stitched Frame die from My Favorite Things.  Then I stamped my little ice-cream-sundae-eating bunny in Versafine ink and watercolored him in with Pretty in Pink and Pool Party inks:

The sentiment is from the new Notes of Spring stamp set, available only in March!  Love that font!  A little Waffleflower birthday sentiment went on the inside, with a little background stamping from Label Me Bold:

These colors are sweet for any spring occasion!  I hope you'll be inspired by them and come create with us at As You See It!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI368 Happy Easter

Hello again, peeps! Another post today, because it's As You See It time!  This week we have a lovely sketch:

Because I was really short on time, I let the papers from SU's Easter Joy do all the heavy lifting on my card:

I used a full 4"x6" panel from one of the sheets, diecut a striped egg from another and added a banner sentiment from the retired Easter Friends.  My little bunny is actually diecut from velveteen paper--so soft and fuzzy! Isn't he cute, hopping along?

And a sweet little sentiment on the inside:

I hope you'll find something in your array of stamping supplies to use on our sketch this week!  We can't wait to see what you create! See what the Design Team did with it as well, at the As You See It blog! Thanks for visiting again today--enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI367 Purple Speed Stamping

Happy Friday, all!  It's time for a new challenge from As You See It, and it's the exciting SPEED challenge, LOL!  This month, we're looking for purple!!!

The trick here is to assemble all your supplies, as well as the idea in your head, and make your card in ten minutes or less---and tell us how long it DID take you!  Here's my card, coming in at 9 minutes and 30 seconds:

Truthfully, I had to go back and reglue a couple pieces so I was really over the ten minute mark, but it was assembled in less than!  I created my window with the Everyday Arches dies and some Gorgeous Grape cardstock, then added the Perennial Lavender "scene" behind it!  The strips were diecut with a strip die from Taylored Expressions, and the sentiment is from W+9's Spring Blessings:

I think the Crumb Cake background is a little plain but didn't have enough time to do anything fancy with it...maybe I could do another with some embossing or stamping?  At any rate, purple is not one of my go-to colors, so I am proud of myself for actually using it!!!

There are any number of ways you could go with this challenge....there are all sorts of shades and hues ot purple, from light to dark!  We hope you will choose at least one and play along with us at As You See It!  Remember to time yourself and share your time with us as well!  See you there!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI366 Peppermint Wishes

Happy Friday, all!  It's time for a new As You See It challenge, and we have a theme:

Yummy!  Look at all those goodies! I got a sweet little peppermint candy die just after Christmas, so this challenge gave me the perfect opportunity to put it to use:

My candies are made with Basic White, Real Red, Strawberry Slush and Granny Apple Green.  The peppermint sentiment is from More Than Autumn, and the diecut sentiments are from the Words for the Season dies.  All went on a gingham background from Scrapbook.com, diecut with the Perennial Postage die.  I added a Stitched With Whimsy doodle around the edges as well as some Peppermint candy embellishments!

I added a Colorado Craft sentiment on the inside:

In the stamping world, it's never too early to start making Christmas cards!  And since the Krafty Chicks are asking for Christmas cards this week, I am entering it there as well!

What will inspire you from this fun challenge?! Hope to see your sweet confection over at the As You See It blog!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI365 Celebrate in Red

Happy Friday, all!  Time for a new As You See It challenge, and it's a recipe!  Here we go:

My first thought was Valentine's, what with the shades of red, but in the end, I went with Christmas!!  Here we go:

I combined a lot of retired products for this card; some Cherry Cobbler DSP; a pine tree diecut; a Cherry Cobbler glimmer "celebrate" and some scalloped die-cut vellum.  And who doesn't love a couple of cardinals?:

I used an adhesive sheet behind the "celebrate" diecut to make it adhere more easily!

The inside features a sentiment from Christmas labels, and I added another little cardinal for fun:

I hope that you'll mix all these ingredients together and create something wonderful as well!  We can't wait to see what that is! Share it with us at As You See It!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI364 Another Beer

Happy Friday, all!  It's time for a new As You See It challenge of 2026 and it's a fun one!  It's a fill-in-the-blank, and we want you to use your newest craft purchase!

My newest craft purchase is some Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol!  This technique of blending colored pencils with Gamsol has been around for a long time, but I never jumped on that bandwagon, so "Santa" very nicely gave some to me for Christmas (thanks, John!)!  And since Wayne's birthday is today, I decided to use this technique on a Unity stamp set---a mug of beer!  So here we go with my CAS creation:

I stamped the beer mug with Versafine ink, diecut it out, then colored the beer with Goldenrod and Spanish Orange Prismacolor pencils, adding a little Light Cerulean Blue to the mug itself and Black on the suds:

I added the sentiment to a Very Vanilla card and popped up the beer, adding some shading to the bottom with Pecan Pie ink.  My Wink of Stella kind of "exploded" while I was trying to add some sparkle, so it is VERY sparkly, LOL!  Here's the inside, using another sentiment from the same Unity set along with a Waffleflower Inside Sentiments Birthday set:

I am also entering this at the Addicted to CAS challenge, where they are looking for "glass"!

SO....what new goodies did you get for Christmas or just recently?  We'd love to see what you create with them!  Share them with us over at the As You See It blog!  Can't wait!

AYSI363 Peace Love Joy

Happy Friday, all!  Time for a new As You See It challenge, and it's an interesting color palette!  Here we go:

I am way behind on everything this Christmas!!!  But I did manage to make one more card using the colors and new die (Merry Christmas to me!)! What do you think? (Sorry for the poor picture quality---too many gray clouds these days!)

I used Michele's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

I cut the Spellbinders Barn Star from Mossy Meadow cardstock and added Pecan Pie pine cones and Mossy Meadow foliage (sponged with MM ink to make them darker).  It was mounted on a circle embossed with the Dotted Circles embossing folder.  Sentiment on the banner is from Simon Says Stamp's Tiny Words Christmas:

The inside sentiment is also from Simon Says Stamp, Christmas Blessings, stamped in Night of Navy:

I think these colors would be great for a masculine card as well!  I hope you'll play along with us at As You See It this week!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI362 Birthday Sketch

Happy Friday, all! Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!! My Black Friday plans are to do nothing, LOL!  We do have a new challenge for you at As You See It, and it's a lovely sketch:

I needed a birthday card so I pulled out some Peaceful Garden DSP---it's not just for Christmas--and cut some of the coordinating patterns to fit the sketch:

I layered everything on a Basic White panel that was embossed with the Gathering Leaves embossing folder, then added some leafy diecuts cut from some Peaceful Garden Glimmer paper, along with some white Pearls of Beauty:

The sentiment is from Simply Said, stamped in Secret Sea ink.

I hope you'll play along with our lovely sketch this week!  It's a great way to use up some of those leftover DSP pieces we can't seem to toss---I am sure you all know what I'm talking about!  We hope you'll share your creation with us at the As You See It blog!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!
