In(k)spire Me #563 Way To Go

Happy Tuesday, all! My card today uses the sketch from In(k)spire Me, and it's a graduation card for a family friend!  First, the sketch:

I heat-embossed a sentiment from the new set called The Right Words, and I am a little disappointed in how it turned out; my embossing powder may be about 20 years old, so maybe I should invest in some new, LOL!  I diecut it and added a Pretty in Pink scallop to match these pretty florals from Wildflower Birthday DSP:

The gold-striped panel is from the same DSP, I just cut a strip and adhered it to the side. I added a few gold leaves and some sparkly ribbon too!  On the inside, I mixed and matched some sentiments:

The young lady graduate just finished nursing school, so she definitely will be on an adventure!

SSC308 Camper Birthday

Happy Tuesday, peeps! We have a friend who just purchased a little camper, and his birthday is coming up, so I thought it would be fun to use the Tree Lot dies along with the He's The Man DSP to create a special card for him:

I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

I diecut the camper from Basic White, Mint Macaron and Early Espresso cardstocks, even giving it a little acetate window and curtain!!

I pulled out the retired Rev Up The Fun for the tire tracks, and Circle Sayings provided the birthday sentiment.  I used the Countryside Corners dies to shape it, cutting the DSP panel a second time to make it smaller:

The retired Adventure Awaits seemed appropriate for the inside:

TCC147 The Road Less Traveled

Hey there, everyone!  Wednesday brings us  anew Card Concept challenge...this week it's a great one for masculine cards!  What do you think?

 

I do not have any globe or travel stamps that would fit the theme that this photo evoked, so instead, I went with the brown hues I found in this cool DSP:

I would call this style shabby and vintage; I did find a map stamp, which I stamped on some tan DSP in Stazon ink and diecut with a Stitched Shape die, then shaded it with a sponge dauber to give it that vintage look:

I added an embellishment with some twine ribbon and two silver brads, as a nod to that silvery lampshade in the photo!  The sentiment was stamped with my Stamparatus and gives that "travel" feeling to the card as well:

Since there was a wee bit of blue in the DSP, I mounted it on a Marina Mist card with an Early Espresso mat.  This is a tad larger than a regular A4 card; when we cleaned out my dad's house a couple years ago, I found boxes of envelopes he had saved, and some of them are larger than standard, so I am trying to use a few of them up, as well as some of my retired supplies!

I added a birthday sentiment to the inside of this card and it's already in the mail!  Masculine cards are a bit of a challenge, so I was happy to be able to put this challenge to good use!  I hope you'll play along with our challenge!  Be sure to tell us what your "style" is (details listed on the Card Concept blog), then share it with us there too!  Can't wait to see it!

AYSI229 Vacation Awaits

Happy FRIDAY, peeps!  And tomorrow is our American July 4th, yippee!  But today is As You See It day, and Heather has a fun theme for us:

We admit that vacations might be a wee bit different this year....maybe "staycations" or fewer people in restaurants practicing social distancing, but we can still dream!  I found a little die I almost forgot I had, so I went to work with it:

 I searched for a sketch and found this one from The Spot:

And I found some papers from a past SU 6x6 pad called Serene Scenery, and they seemed to fit the sky/ocean/sand look I was going for!  I diecut my little camper from Bermuda Bay and Basic Black cardstocks, added some vellum windows, and mounted it on a pieced panel diecut with the Stitched Nested Label dies:

My Naturals White card was stamped with the retired Sanded background stamp in Sahara Sand, as well as a sentiment from Adventure Awaits, also retired, in Pretty Peacock:

I added a couple little stitched lines to create a "road", although it goes all the way to the sky...ooops!

All in all, it was a fun card to make....I didn't put a sentiment on the inside yet, we'll see what occasion might come up for which it would be appropriate!

IB26 Let's Go Camping

Hey peeps!  It's Thursday...the end of the week is coming up, and it's time for another Inspired By challenge!!  I was so excited to see this prompt....it "prompted" me to run right out and get this little diecut to create a wee little whimsical card; check it out:

And here is Laurel's prompt!  Isn't this quilt adorable?!

My camper die is from Flora and Fauna, it was cut from watercolor paper, colored with an aquapainter and ink and mounted on a Crushed Curry oval.  I put a couple of "trees" punched with a retired SU tree punch behind the camper.  The sentiment is from Adventure Awaits, and I stamped it on a piece of retired DSP, then mounted it all on a Call Me Clover card base:

I also stamped a sentiment from the same set on the inside: I think this would make for a great graduation or new job card!

SIP112 The Road Less Traveled

Hi everyone!  It's Tuesday and that means it's time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge!  "Travel" is our theme today....and a great one it is!

I don't have a whole lot of "travel" stamps and what I do have, I've used a lot....so I wanted something a little different!  John has a slew of old ADC map books he got from his dad's house, so I snagged one and took out a page to create my card:

I chose a sentiment from the retired Adventure Awaits....this is such a great set, fun sentiments and big bold fonts....and stamped it in Tempting Turquoise, then again in Real Red for the center portion:

I stamped a bike image from Clearly Besotted's Good Times:

and had a cute little paper-pieced balloon from Verve coming out of its basket:

I also added a little image from Better Together that looks like a road...at least that's what it looks like to me!!!

I think this would make a great graduation or "new job" card....it was fun to make!  I hope you'll check out all the other samples on the SIP blog and share your travel card with us as well!

Speaking of traveling, Cassidy spent another day with her daddy as they got home late due to lots of vacation traffic!!!  Hopefully we'll get some snuggle time today!  Thanks for popping in today and be blessed!

PP351 The Adventure Begins

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's time for another Paper Players challenge, and Joanne is our hostess this week with this theme:

I used a mix of old and new products for my card today, and used the Freshly Made Sketches sketch by Amy:

The stamp is from 2015's Occasion catalog, called Adventure Awaits; I paired it with some fun paper from the current Birthday Memories DSP to get this:

Since the stamp is photopolymer, I had cut apart the two portions of the sentiment, which made it really easy to stamp it in two colors!  I chose Pacific Point and Pumpkin Pie, pulling colors from the dots in the paper.  I used a sentiment from the retired Silhouettes and Script for my small side panels, stamping the words in Pumpkin Pie and Lemon Lime Twist:

A couple of little matching banners and punched stars finished the outside:

For the inside, I used a sentiment from Suite Sentiments and diecut it with the banner from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlets; I also cut a strip of stars with another die from the same set and used both the negative and positive parts for some fun!

Most of us in the US have already had our graduations, but Joanne has given us several choices for the challenge, so feel free to be flexible!  Can't wait to see what you create!  And you can check out what the DT did right here:

We had lots of comments about the sweet little kittens at the farm, and no, I didn't cave in and get one, but my friend Sharon brought over a little kitty she rescued from her vet. 

She knew Cassidy would enjoy it, and after a few tears shed due to little kitty claws scratching soft skin, Cassidy solved the problem (on her own, I might add), but putting on a sweatshirt so that the claws didn't dig in!

Foxy Catalog CASE

Hi peeps!  My card today is almost a total CASE of one from page 56 of the catalog, using the new set Foxy Friends!  I just love this set, but there are almost too many images from which to choose!  I had to look at the picture to figure out what face goes with what body and even then, I still didn't figure out how they got white ears on the sample....I guess they punched them out too!  The punch does make it fun to play with the different pieces...sort of like paper dolls, only they're paper animals!  So here we go....Smoky Slate, Pool Party and Watermelon Wonder are great colors together!

This cute paper is called A Little Foxy....isn't it sweet?  I fussy-cut the stump, mushroom and greenery to make my little scene.  I also added some new Pool Party ribbon:

and since this will be a graduation card for a sweet girl from church, I added "congrats" on the front (Cottage Greetings) and this big bold sentiment from Adventure Awaits on the inside:

I hope she likes it!

We set up Cassidy's kiddie pool last week when it was hot; with cooler weather predicted this week, she probably won't go near it!  Anyway, Grampy put her to work, bringing the air hose over from the shop....pretty smart idea!

She couldn't even wait until the water was in it to jump in!

She made sure her dolls were in on the water action too!
