PP479 A SAB Sketch

Hi peeps!   I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week and I've got a sweet little sketch for you!

I confess that my card today is an almost CASE of this pretty card made by Michelle Last; you can see it here.  I chose the same papers and stamp set, both available during Sale-a-bration, but changed up the colors a wee bit and of course, used the sketch:

I began with some Melon Mambo ink and cardstock and layered some Golden Honey Specialty DSP on top.  I already had a scalloped panel cut and unused from another project, so I layered that on top, then added a sentiment from Accented Blooms, punched out with the Tailored Punch.

I stamped the flowers from Thoughtful Blooms in Melon Mambo as well; the larger blossom was stamped off first to create a lighter color, then the smaller blossom on top in full-strength ink.  I added some rhinestones that I colored with a Black Blend, and added some Granny Apple Green leaves.  My final embellishment was a little lattice diecut from the Nature's Thoughts dies.  I really wanted to add some extra stamping or embellishment on the white panel, but John said it looked better plain, so I went with his decision!

I hope you'll stop by the Paper Players blog and see what fun creations the DT made with my sketch!  Share yours as well!

While we were at Sandy Cove last weekend, we did an Escape Room...well, the others did the escape room, I was totally lost!  This picture pretty much sums it up:

Ask me to do a crossword puzzle, and I'm your gal....but this was a little beyond me!  But after seeing how it works, I think if I were to do another one, I might have a better idea about it!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI199 Accented Thank You

Happy Friday, peeps!  Yay, the weekend is almost here!  I have a fun group of stampers coming to play tomorrow, can't wait to see them!  It's time for another As You See It challenge; check out this lovely color palette:

I have to admit that at first, I was stumped as to how to use these!  I searched through my stamps to see what might jump out at me, and in the end, I am very happy with my result!  Check it out:

Accented Blooms is such a pretty stamp set and I don't use it enough!  It's a large enough image that you don't need much else to create an impressive card.  I stamped the image in Stazon on Thick White cardstock and used the challenge color inks and an aquapainter to color it in; the thick cardstock accepts the watercolors pretty well and it doesn't bleed through:

I love to watercolor because even with only three colors, you can still get light and dark shades, depending on how much water is on your brush;  more water creates lighter hues, less creates darker.  I left the leaves blank so as not to detract from the pretty florals, then I stamped the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick on a scrap of white cardstock and used the matching punch, then popped it up on dimensionals.  I did add a few little Powder Pink speckles and a couple of sequins from my stash for additional interest.

I hope you'll play along with us this week...these bright cheerful colors are sure to inspire you to get creative!  Check out all the samples at the As You See It blog!

On Easter Sunday, our little children's choir sang for us....Wayne managed to capture this photo just as the boy in front put his head down, so you can see Cassidy's smiling face.  She doesn't like to sing, let alone get up in front of a crowd, so I am surprised she is smiling!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Green and Serene

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Just a quick post today!  This card was one I originally made for my own monochromatic challenge at the Paper Players, but I kind of "forgot" that it was supposed to be clean and simple!  SO I started over, but finished this one anyway because I really like it!  So here we go:

I used the same Serene Garden, but stamped it in Granny Apple Green on Soft Sea Foam cardstock, using my Stamparatus to get a good image!  The flower was shaded with a blender pen, then diecut and popped up.  My sentiment is from Accented Blooms and punched with the matching punch.  Before adhering it to my card front, I ran the panel through the Subtle Embossing folder for a little extra dimension!  I think these colors are unusual together, but I love the final result!  And since the Stamp Ink Paper challenge this week is monochromatic also, I am entering this!

Speaking of green, we got some new-to-us John Deere green this weekend!  Last weekend while at a Christian retreat, we took a ride and found this for sale on the side of road!  Needless to say, it was a pricey weekend!  But hubby is HAPPY!

We are supposed to get 3-5" of snow tomorrow, so I had better see this thing in action, LOL!  Enjoy your day and thanks for popping it today!
