Merry Monday 107

DSCF2611
Happy Monday, peeps!  Another Merry Monday is here…this time Katie has a sweet sketch for us!  I just love this sketch….lots of interesting elements to play with:

At my clubs this month, we are making shaker cards, so I made this one as an example:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Merry Monday 107 Snowflake Shaker Christmas Card Stampin Up

I used Retro Fresh designer paper and A Round Array for my little snowflake, and some retiring Silver Glass Glitter for the “snow”!  SU’s Shaker Frames and Window Sheets make it easy to make a circular shaker window!

A sentiment from the retired Endless Wishes polymer set, stamped in Encore Silver, a few Silver Glimmer accents and it was finished!

I hope you’ll pop by the Merry Monday blog to see the other designers’ samples and get some inspiration from them as well!  Then play along with us so you can add to your Christmas card stash!!

We have a pretty big rabbit living in our backyard; Cassidy tried to chase it!

It ended up escaping under Grampy’s dinghy:

and then she chased it into the flower bed (can you see him on the right side of the photo?)…..where he ran onto the patio and under the porch!!!  Smart bunny!

Enjoy your day!

PPA188

DSCF0296

I rarely post twice in one day, but I wanted to get this card in to the Pals Paper Arts challenge this week!  And I confess, I am addicted to this Retro Fresh paper!  Here’s their sketch:

And here’s my card:

It was so fun to “splash” on the elements from Gorgeous Grunge and Geometrical, add some matching washi tape, then top it all off with a scalloped element featuring A Round Array:

FMS 118 with a Tag Topper Bag Hanger

DSCF0157
Happy Friday, peeps!  I have two projects to show you today, one I am pretty excited about, so be sure to scroll down and read it all!  My card uses the Freshly Made Sketches sketch for this week:
and I was able to use some of the beautiful Fresh Prints DP:

Weeinklings LeAnne Pugliese Stampin Up Valentine Tag Topper Punch card

I had seen some beautiful burlap roses on Pinterest (you can see the tutorial HERE) and I thought one would be pretty on this card.  I made mine with SU’s burlap trim and decorated it with a hat pin and a diecut heart embellished with our jumbo pearls.

Now obviously, this would never fit into an envelope, so I thought I would make a “hanger” to fit on the outside of a gift bag, on which to hang my card.  I have actually made these before, but now that we have the Tag Topper punches, they are even easier!  (I know there are dies out in the stamping world as well for these, so this is not my original idea!)  And, this only works for cards that have top folds.  So here we go!

I used a piece of cardstock 5 1/2” x 2” (or just a hair under 2”) and punched each end with the Tag Topper punch.  I slit the tag piece at the top from cutout to cutout…you can do this with an Xacto knife or just with scissors…..and adhered JUST THE TOP PORTION to the gift bag with Sticky Strip.  If you adhere the bottom portion, you won’t be able to slide your card in!   You can also use a glue dot on the ends of the tag for extra hold.  You can barely see the slit here (and just ignore that piece of white cardstock under it…I am “recycling” a used bag!):

Then just slide the card into the slit:

And here’s how it looks on the bag:

You can embellish the hanger any way you like!  This is a Valentine’s card, so I added a Valentine sentiment and some hearts, and here is the inside:

Thanks for visiting today!
Now, a continuation of yesterday’s trip to the hairdresser:

ColourQ202 & CCMC263

DSCF7313

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Popping in today with another ColourQ challenge:

I was wishing I had one of those big doily stamps, but I decided to go a different route and use a new SU set, A Round Array:

LeAnne Pugliese_CQC202 Wee Inklings A Round Array

I combined it with some various DPs in the challenge colors, stamping each little element in Basic Gray and Ruby Red, then cutting out the centers and popping them up:

I also used the cool sketch from this week’s Create with Connie & Mary:

CCMC263

For some added interest, I embossed diagonal lines on the card front, added some washi tape, baker’s twine, ribbon and candy dots!  The sentiment is from Remembering Your Birthday.   I like that this isn’t frilly & girly…..but still a fun birthday card.  I have a few friends that might like this card!  Hope you can play with us this week—can’t wait to see what you come up with once you slap on your creative thinking cap!

Cassidy was helping Grampy spread stone with her own little pink shovel:

And when she found one that was too big, she was a big helper, and put it in the bucket of the tractor:

Soho Subway Thanks

DSCF6103

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Do you have something fun planned for this weekend?  It’s supposed to be rainy here, so I am thinking I am just going to relax!  I finally broke into my Soho Subway DP and I am lovin’ it!  Some of the larger patterns I probably won’t use, but the smaller ones are a lot of fun, and they coordinate so well!  Even though the challenge is over, I used the Pals Paper Arts sketch 161, designed by Margaret Moody, because I liked it so much, for a thank-you card:

PPA161-LeAnne

I stamped the plain label from Label Love on another piece of the Soho Subway paper and punched it out, then topped it with the thank you image from A Round Array, again on the same paper, and popped it up:

I love the effect this gives!  And finally, I embossed my envelope flap with the Alphabet Press embossing folder….this makes a really cool effect and is definitely a “wow” factor when the recipient opens it!

Glad you visited today!

This is how you make sure you get all your bowling pins knocked down:
