PP761 Boo! Sketch from Joanne

Hello stampers! Time for a new Paper Players challenge, and Joanne has an awesome sketch for us this week!  So much fun!

I have so many Halloween stamps, it's hard to get to all of them but I couldn't let the month go by without using this funny cat and jack:

This image is from 100 Proof Press, stamped on some Basic White in Versafine Black, then watercolored lightly.  I overstamped it with the retired Weathered background stamp to give it an aged look!  The boo is from an old Recollections stamp as well.  My papers are all from Unity, and they complement the vintage look of my scary cat.  A few orange glimmer stars finished it off!  Here's the inside of the card:

Another vintage goodie from Lizzie Anne, adorned with a couple more stars!

This sketch is so versatile, you can use it for lots of occasions! Be sure to stop by the Paper Players blog to see what the designers did with it.  Put on your creative thinking caps then, and share your creation with us!  Thanks for popping in today!

PP749 A Theme From Stef

Happy Sunday, all! Stef is our Paper Players hostess this week with a fun, seasonal theme:

Lots of great possibilities for this theme! I pulled out a really old silhouette stamp; I believe it is from 100 Proof Press, and made one of the easiest cards I think I ever made:

I found a piece of the Thoughtful Journey DSP that looked "watery" and simply stamped my image on top using Blackberry Bliss ink.  The sentiment, from Peaceful Moments, was stamped at the top using Misty Moonlight ink.  I added some sequins from my stash and it was almost done!

I took the piece of DSP left after cutting the front panel and stamped a birthday greeting on it and adhered it to the inside!

So easy!  I hope you'll play along with our theme challenge this week at the Players! Be sure to stop by the blog to see what the Design Team has created as well!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP734 CAS Challenge from Elizabeth

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Happy Easter, too!  Elizabeth is our Paper Players hostess this week and she has a fun CLEAN-AND-SIMPLE challenge for us:

Isn't that little bunny adorable?  I already had all my Easter cards done, but I did remember this cute little pair of bunny slippers in my stash:

I used the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches:

I used a piece of Petal Pink DSP for the left panel, embellishing it with a wee bit of cardstock that was diecut with a scalloped stitched die.  The slippers were stamped in Versafine Black and the ears and noses were watercolored with Petal Pink ink:

The outside sentiment is from Hero Arts; the inside is from A Dozen Thoughts:

I am also entering this at the Krafty Chicks challenge, where they are looking for CAS creations!

This is such a fun challenge! You could use bunnies for any number of occasions!  Don't forget that it has to be clean-and-simple---minimal supplies and layers! Be sure to check out the samples from the Design Team over at the Paper Players to get some inspiration! Hope to see you there!

CAS on Sunday 294-Jack & Cat

Happy Wednesday, peeps! The CAS on Sunday challenge this week is Halloween!  I got this howling cat stamp several years ago and always ensure he makes at least one appearance in October!  My card is uber-CAS; just one layer, no embellishments or frou-frou!  Here we go:

I stamped my cat in Versafine Black ink, then stamped it again on a piece of masking paper and fussy-cut him out.  I laid the masking paper on top of the stamped image, then stenciled a big yellow/orange moon behind him, and finally, colored in his pumpkin:

I added some stamped black stars, some orange "twinkle" and a little "boo" as my sentiment!  I wish I had stamped the image a little lower because it looked top-heavy, so I trimmed off the bottom a bit to even it up, LOL!   Easy peasy and this little kitty is already in the mail!

I am also going to add this over at the Double D Challenges where there are looking for a pumpkin!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Stamp Camp Halloween Projects

Happy Thursday, peeps! I have a very busy couple of days coming up so I thought I'd just share a few projects that we made at my recent stamp camp!  The theme was Halloween, Thanksgiving and fall, and today I'll share the Halloween ones!  Here we go:

This Trick or Treat one uses lots of punches and dies with papers from Honey Bee's Harvest line.  The sentiment is from an old Recollections set and the dies are from Impression Obsession.

The silhouette one uses an image from 100 Proof Press and another Recollections sentiment, along with some papers from Close to My Heart.  I just love this vintage image!  (Measurements for the panels are:  Pumpkin Pie 2 1/2" x 5 1/2"; star and plaid papers 1" x 3"; white circle 1 1/4"; black circle 1 3/8".)

If you need any more information, just shoot me an email!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Birthday Shells

Happy Monday, peeps!  It's club day so I will make this quick!  My card is for two challenges:  the Just Us Girls challenge wants shells, and the Inspired By challenge is Sea Decor:

One of my favorite shell images is called Shell Plate 17 from 100 Proof Press; I combined it with a Cheesecloth stamp for my card today:

The shells were stamped in Baja Breeze on Mist cardstock from Close to My Heart and diecut with a Scalloped Contours die.  The cheesecloth was stamped in Crumb Cake and I added some "splashes" with a stamp from Nature's Prints, stamped in Craft White ink.

I stamped a birthday sentiment from Lasting Joy and diecut it with a Nested Essentials die; beneath it I added a rope tied with a nautical-style knot:

The sentiment and shells on the inside are from an older Crafty Secrets set:

Thanks so much for dropping by today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Fusion Trick or Treat

Happy Saturday, all!  I believe this will probably be my last Halloween card of the season, LOL!  The Fusion challenge is a fun one; I only used the sketch only:

This silhouette image of vintage Halloweeners is also one of my favorites that I try to use every year, but I may have missed last year!  So here it is again, along with a plaid banner and some spooky moon-lit skyline paper! I had to flip the sketch so my little trick-or-treaters weren't blocked by the banner:

I believe this image is from `100 Proof Press, I just think it's so cute!

The plaid stamp is from Concord & 9th; the sentiment is from Recollections, an oldie but goodie.

Thanks for popping in today!

The family went to the last high school football game of the season; Cassidy immediately made a beeline for her friends, so no pictures of her!

It was cold and crisp, a perfect night for football!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TCC178 Vintage Shells

Hi stampers!  Happy Wednesday!  Today we have a beautiful new Card Concept challenge, just in time for summer stamping!  Here's the pretty prompt:
For my "clean and layered" card, I decided to pull out a vintage-style 100 Proof Press stamp and use it, along with the colors in the palette, to make a pretty seashell-inspired card:

The card is pretty simple; the shells are stamped in Pool Party on Basic White cardstock, and I ripped the edges for a rustic look.  I ripped some Balmy Blue cardstock to create a mat, then put it on a Crumb Cake card base on which I stamped some "woodgrain" from the retired Gorgeous Grunge:

I added some speckles from Friends are Like Seashells, some thick baker's twine, and a sentiment from Friends are Like Seashells on the inside, since I just couldn't find a place that I like for it on the front!

I have a special friend whose birthday is in August and she loves the beach, so I'll probably save this one for her!

The design team has come up with some gorgeous creations using our inspiration photo....I hope you'll play along with us at share your "concept" as well at The Card Concept!  This will be our last challenge until fall, so enjoy your summer season and thanks for popping in!

PP548 Stars and Stripes Stampede

Hi peeps!  Happy 4th to my American friends!  Anne Marie is our Paper Players hostess and she has a fun one---and it doesn't necessarily have to be patriotic...we just need stars and/or stripes:

My friend Karen made a cool fun-fold card on her blog a bit ago (you can see it here), and I thought I would re-create it for today's challenge.  You can find the measurements on the other Karen's blog HERE...she has a perfectly-written template and it just requires some careful cutting and scoring!  So here we go:

I used two different stamps to create my cowboy-themed card for a young man in our church!  I used several striped papers from Cowboy Country by Carta Bella, and my bronco image is from 100 Proof Press, stamped in Misty Moonlight.  The stars and barbed wire are from Yee Haw, as are most of the inside sentiments as well.  I added some Candy Dots to the stitched stars; on the first photo, you can see one of them looks a little pink; after taking that photo, I went back to my craft room and colored it with a Dark Cherry Cobbler Blend....looks better now!

Here are the side views so you can see the folds:

And here is the inside, stamped in Night of Navy and Merry Merlot:

I even added a little leftover strip of the DSP for more stripes!  This card has plenty of both stars and stripes!

I hope you'll stop by the Paper Players blog to see some more stars and stripes, and then share yours with us as well!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy wanted to make some cupcakes for their July 4th party and decorate them with sprinkles.  She had a plan to make "USA" in red, white and blue sprinkles, then decorate the rest with gold stars.  We made some stencils with waxed paper and an alphabet and star die, then she went to work.  We were a little crunched on time, so the first few looked pretty good, but she had to rush, so the last stars were a bit messy!  Here she is starting the stars (we did a trial one with the "S"...you can see it next to her:

Looked pretty good!  We didn't know if it was better to put them on when the icing was still unset, but that would mean it would stick to the waxed paper.  If we let it set, the sprinkles wouldn't stay put!  Trial and error!

On to the the "U":

Finally, they were done!  The "A" was made with the little pearl decorations, so it's hard to see, and she had to put them on one by one!  I gave her a lot of credit...she did all of it by herself with only a wee bit of help from me (well, I did make the cupcakes and ice them, LOL!)!!!

Have a blessed fourth!

AYSI245 Stampede Birthday

Happy Friday, peeps!  It's my turn to create a "recipe" for you at As You See It!  I always struggle with creating masculine cards, so here's a recipe to get you started:

And even though this was my own challenge, I struggled with it as well!  This is the third card I created for the challenge...the other two were not so great, LOL!  So here we go:

I started with a 100 Proof Press image, stamped in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla cardstock, then diecut with a Stitched Shapes die. The papers are from Photo Play's Autumn Day.  I embossed the rust-colored piece with the retired Basketweave EF, then added some stitched embossing on a Soft Suede strip as well.  For some added interest, I stamped some barbed wire (retired Yee-Haw) along the edge, and added a twine "lasso" behind the cowboy image:

The sentiment, stamped in Terracotta Tile, is from the retired Picture Perfect birthday:

My sketch is from Try Stampin on Tuesday:

I am also adding this to Just Add Ink this week, which is to "add L"!  My "L" is a lasso!

I hope you'll play along with my recipe this week...be sure to check out what the designers created, and share yours as well at As You See It!

So let's see Cassidy's final result!  She really liked doing the splatter work, so this time, we watered down some white craft paint and she splattered that on her finished card:

After we dried it, she peeled off the letters:

Much better results!

She added a white heat-embossed sentiment at the bottom (the same as my card above), then added some numbers and a little hand-written sentiment on the inside!

She was happy with the end results, learned some new techniques and we had fun!  Thanks for indulging me!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
