Avg: 7.6 - Good
File Size: 641.35 KB
Released: 2004-02-08

Description:

The inspiration for this game come from an old freeware game I played once, I think it was called "Laser Lights". But lasers would be too hard to re-create in Dink, so you get balls instead. The goal is to direct the balls into target of the same color. This is mostly done be moving triangles (thus the name), which the balls can bounce off of.

This is a challenging if slightly annoying at times weird DMOD. There are some really nice things being done here with the DinkC programming, yet some of the amazing stuff is tarnished by the music and sound effects.

30 levels of problem solving, and while this didn't work on my PIII laptop, it works fine on my new P4 2.8. - I had fun, sometimes, solving the problems, but the frustration level outweighed the fun overall.

Occassional the game frozen if the round ended with me holding a piece.

But like all problems solving types of things, it got under my skin and I had to finish. Level 29 had me stumped for a while (had to turn the sound of here, as the frustration level reached boiling point) and I felt triumph when I finally solved it, and then Level 30 was such a let down. I got the answer on my third attempt.

Strengths: many levels, generally well designed for what it is

Weaknesses: annoying music, and sound FX. Occassional frozen games, no time to assess the problem without having to solve it.

At some point I thought the NPCs might have some interaction... but not to be.

Overall 8.5

These kind of games are just not to my liking and as soon as I saw what it was about I wanted to quit the game. But since I also was curious what kind of game Paul made, I decided to play a little longer. Not that that helped much, since it still is not my kind of game! But I played long enough to appreciate the time and effort put into this game.
It looks very good. Not only the game itself with all its colourful elements, but also the start screen that looks very nice (some authors seem to forget altogether that there is something like a start screen and do not put any effort into that).

Overall a very nice made game and if you like this kind of games, it is definitely worth the download.

This Dmod was FUN although I’ve never played the original this one is very cool even for a remake that can’t use beams of light
Story: This Dmod was based on an old game called Laser Lights. The object of the game is to get a certain colour ball into a certain target. It is very fun and sometimes challenging.

Gameplay: It is fun to play all the time although some of the levels can be frustrating it is still very fun and even better it has no errors

Graphics: There are very nice graphics in this game, the set-up of the maps can be interesting and the variety of graphics helps make the game fun.

Final Thoughts: This game is one of the best weird Dmods out, it is fun and a good way to spend some spare time.
Good: The amount of levels and variety
Bad: The Small ball crash limit

When I first tried out this dmod, I was like "this really sucks" and quit playing. When I later tried it again though, I went a little deeper into the game and found it to be an attractive little piece of a dmode. The sounds suck mostly, and I didn't like the midis very much either. The graphics are good ol' paintbrush quality, but in a weird dmod such as this it really doesn't matter. (not that awesome kickass graphics woul've not been cool) What I hate the most in Triangle Mover is the hurry-up-and-place-those-bouncers formulae one has to follow through the whole game.

Overally, Triangle Mover is a nice weird dmod with a good idea and great potential but many "beauty failures".

This was a cool dMod, its a Dink version of many classic redirect the line(ball) ect to the goal using mirrors, triagles ect...
It was pretty challenging and i liked the fact that there where all kinds of puzzels that id never seen before.(usually every game has the same puzzels only slightly modified).
It was also cool and i had to give it some ponts because it was a totally new idea for the dink engine.
There was a few problems i found with this game though, you could know the solution to the puzzel but if you had the triangle just a little off it would mess up the timing of the ball, and doors would close just before the ball got there, also it was sometimes hard to pick up or place the triangles, espesially when going really fast, (in the higher levels speed is needed). Also if your computer lags, so maps might be nearly impossible to beat, becuase lag will mess up the timing of balls and also makes it really hard to move triangles.
This was overall a pretty good Mod though, i liked the challenge level, was well as the original idea, and the replay/fun level of the game.
