Description:

From the readme.txt: "The original Dink Smallwood doesn't have too many trees. In fact, there are just seven: three with leaves, three without, and the pine tree.

This pack helps fill this little gap in graphical splendor by providing nine varieties of four main tree types.

This pack of tree graphics are just outstanding.
There are 36 trees in total, some are green, other yellow-orange, other red, there are green trees with yellow bright, some blue and others those haven't their leaves.

There's a readme file in that Redink1 tells how he made the trees, in what was him using them, and instructions on how to add them.
Redink1 used some of themin Cycles of Evil, but still, they are awesome.

The good: We get sick of always using the same trees on making a d-mod. So this pack just adds more options to make your world look colorful and beauty. They look something like realistic. There are trees for the different seasons. The shades are used perfectly.

The bad: The trees look like if they were standing on the tips of their roots. But beside that, nothing else to see here.

The ugly (Not bad, neither good): Some trees would look weird if the user just uses them wrongly (I.E using the blue trees in a Greenland).

Overall: Use these if you want some new trees in your d-mod. And if you aren't making a d-mod, well, you can still download this pack and take a look at it.

Purpose: As we all know, the original Dink Smallwood does not have many trees. And it can get quite boring to look at the same old trees in every D-mod. And as I at least know, it is very difficult to make decent looking trees. This graphics pack consists of 36 trees; 12 trees in different shades of green, 12 in different shades of red and yellow, 4 that are bright green/yellow, 4 that are blue and 4 that do not have any leaves.

Use: The nice thing about this pack that is comes with instructions on where to place them and how to set the dink.ini. The readme.txt also includes the specific load_sequence and set_sprite_info. Excellent!

Good: The trees look superb! Every colour and also the trees without leaves comes in four different type of trees. The trees in different shades of green look splendid; placed together you can create a nice forest with them. Trees 17-20 are exactly the shade of the grass. The trees that are orange/red/yellow will make a very lovely autumn forest or can be used in a weird D-mod. The blue trees could also be used in a weird D-mod, or in some dark or spooky place. The trees without leaves come in three different colours. Those trees look very fragile, in fact all the trees do when you compare them to the original trees.

Not so good: The roots look a bit strange; it is as if the trees are standing on the tips of their toes. When placed on water however, they look just like mangrove trees. The bright green/yellow trees are a bit too bright.

Overall: An excellent graphics pack that can be used in any D-mod.

Fit for: Everybody who wants to use another kind of trees.

These trees are great. And lots of variation in the leaves. If you want to see them in action, play Cycles of Evil.

The pack comes with great instructions on how to install. And how to save on dink.ini lines by using one line of code only. Excellent.

The only thing that looks a bit weird are the roots... they kinda make the trees look like they're standing on their roots.

9.4 out of 10

I had a chance to quickly peruse through all the new trees
and was impressed.
Some good points
I like how the shadows have the same feel as the orignal
trees in dinksmallwood. Not absolutely to the pixel, but
hey it's close enough for me.
The use of different shades and colors really adds to the
appeal. For a long while there have been many different
types of tiles and it should be a little easier to find
one to match the setting now.
Some bad points
The only weakness is that the same tree was used to
base all the trees
Meaning that the bottoms of the trees all look the same
even though the may have been rotated an inch or two once
in a while.

My two cents
A well made graphics pack which is a breath of fresh air
from modified original graphics. This pack could have
many varied uses as well. However, it has more uses in
a dmod where you want to have the same tree in different
shades and colors which could be a strong point as well,
but it has more of a feel of being released for more uses
then one. In my honest opinion I give this pack a 9.3
mainly for originality and quality.

A wonderful graphics pack by Redink. 36 different trees, that are outstanding in appearance. Only disadvantage is they don't look perfect in comparison to the rest of the sprites in Dink.
But no file is perfect, and this one is dang good. If you want some new trees, to add that something extra to your d-mod, this is the file for you.
