Wednesday 16th of August

Last Wednesday my friend Ank came by to pick up her french Lammie finds. Together we visited Lammie's wonderful house, a kind of interior inspitation museum really...

Lammie spontaneously invited us for a lovely and delicious lunch and spectacular garden tour! Full of inspiration and packed with new old stuff, we left in the late afternoon.

While enjoying French aperitifs, Ank & I chatted in the backyard about our Paris adventure and Henk prepared a festive summer dinner for us.

french finds

This morning we visited our friend Lammie in her surprisingly nice and special Saturday shop.

The shop was packed with new finds from France.
We had coffee in front of the shop on the small french terrace at the harbour and had a chat with fellow customer Carmen from Almada (Lisbon), needles to say it was all about 'a vida portuguesa'...

After coffee we went back inside for a closer look at the motley french collection and did some serious shopping.

we spoiled ourselves with white harlequin plates, more yellow and black plates, a blue vase of opal glass, a grape vase, a tea towel with fish print and a gift for a friend. In short, we bought a lot, however we hadn't stopped by for a long time.

If you'll ever visit Dordrecht, you should really drop by.

View from the bamboo daybed. And another day at home.
I’m feeling pretty good right now and I discovered during the last 'quarantine months', I can be a house sparrow, as we say in the Netherlands.
I don't mind to spend a lot of time at home. I also realize I have variety to go to work 3 times a week, no doubt that makes a lot of difference!

vintage brandy bottle

New guy in da house.

A matador. Well, a glass matador.

A vintage (1950s) Brandy Bottle from Lammie Saturday Shop in Dordrecht.

Henk spotted the matador, when he went to Lammie last Saturday, while I was at work. It was a brandy bottle from Lammie's private collection, but she decided to sell this guy in the shop.

Now in our living room with a dried allium, instead of brandy inside. Cheers to the weekend anyway!

Curiosities & coffee at Lammie's Saturday Shop on the marina quay in Dordrecht.

Lammie sells the best stuff from her treasure hunts from France. The pink (plant) table and zinc flower vase were irresistible and went with home us.

During the first weekends in June, Lammie and her friend Maria will organize a sales exhibition of their French finds. In Maria's large house at the Sarphatipark in Amsterdam, they use the ground floor and the whole upper floor for this exhibition and their friend/artist sets up all the rooms. This tradition is a great experience twice a year.
