flower day - end of an era

Thursday 19th of March 2026 - final flowerday

With a heavy heart, I have decided to stop my weekly flower day at Villa Augustus.

Due to the increasing discomfort caused by the flower allergy built up over the years, I have now truly reached a point where it no longer outweighs the enjoyment of being florist.

In recent years, I have often considered quitting flowerday due to allergic reactions, but then decided against it again and again.

Sneezing, watery eyes, and a stuffy nose, and on the other hand the immense pleasure in flower arranging, was a difficult dilemma for quite some time.

It certainly wasn't an easy decision; for almost 19 years, Thursday was Flower Day!

Flowerday at work, favorite day of the working week.

This time of year the garden at Villa Augustus is at its most beautiful, flowers to pick in abundance!

Twice as much fun when I come across my 3 blondies in the garden while picking.

... and such a beautiful September day calls for dinner in the backyard.

Starting every morning with breakfast in the garden and dinners in the backyard every night.

The past few weeks felt like summer, high temperatures, lots of sunshine and mainly relaxing in the shade.

Thursdays are for flowers. Every week we have fresh flowers at Villa Augustus. My florist day is my favorite workday and these are some bouquets I made last Thursday.
