the tiny orange mini cooper

orange mini cooper - tiny christmas project orange mini cooper - tiny christmas project 1st of august 2023 orange mini cooper - tiny christmas project

The tiny orange Mini Cooper. This weeks cool crochet project.

Pippa asked if I wanted to make a traditional Christmas sweater for Liam.

So I knitted a tiny tweed spencer and I made a crochet version of our orange Mini Cooper, which he thinks is a really cool car!

One of my handmade blankets; the colorful chevron blanket.

A fresh and bright design.

The size of the blanket is 1.40 x 1.00 meter, however it's easy to adjust to a different size.

The orange cot is swedish design we found about ten years ago.

Soon our grandson Liam-Novi will no longer fit in the bamboo crib, so we have taken out the grow-along bed from our 'junk' attic.

Baby blanket inspiration.

I choose for a 'striped' baby blanket for the future babyroom of our expected grandson. A non-obvious version wich i love, after some shuffling with 36 squares on the kitchen table.

You can find the baby blanket pattern in my ETSY SHOP.

And below some photos from years ago with different versions of the crochet pattern.

The original is from 2010.

calm crochet mood

harlequin pillow pattern

Working on another harlequin pillow, just for the fun of it and it's kind of relaxing as well.

Using up my yarn leftovers, sitting outside on the bench under the porch in the front yard.

This time of year, somehow i'm immensely in the mood to crochet. If you fancy to make a harlequin cover for your pillow, you can download the pattern in my ETSY SHOP.

End of summer vibes with a little bit of sunshine now and then. Sunday afternoons like this...

The prototype (my first woodwoolstool anno 2007) and the latest size cute mini stool, identically dressed.

I've made a new checkered cover for the prototype.

Photographed together for the occasion in front of the painting in our bedroom.

tuesday blues

tuesday blues tuesday blues tuesday blues tuesday blues

Blue gets along quite well with an abundance of other colors. No matter what hue of blue, blue blends fine with other colors.

Therefore I chose two shades of blue for a new crochet project; turquoise and bright blue, an eye-popping duo for a diagonal striped pillow.

checkered, double checkered

checkered, double checkered checkered cushion checkered cushion checkered cushion checkered cushion

Checkered, double checkered, crochet cushion done.

I started the checkered crochet last month and while I was working on a new design for a pillow cover, I stopped halfway.

Not because I didn't like it, but because I was wondering how amazing this pattern would work on a xs woodwoolstool. Hahaha, these kind of jumps I make more often. Creating something while my mind is already working on the next project.

So I put the unfinished pillow project on hold and I started on a checkered mini stool cover.
You might have seen how cute the checkered mini stool has become. And yes, it's a keeper, the cutest piece of furniture in our new bedroom.

I wanted to make another one for sale and that one was gone in a blink.
Unfortunately I ran out of moroccan mini stools, so fingers crossed if all goes well I can bring new ones from the souk in October.

But luckily another cool crochet task was waiting for me and I finished the checkered pillow cover last weekend. The cover has two different sides. One side is white & lilac and the other side is multicolored with 6 different blocks in checkered pattern.

In the same colors I used for the mini stool cover; white, lilac, raspberry pink, pastel pink, bright blue, pale blue and yellow.

The checkered crochet cushion is now available in my Etsy shop and there is only one.

checkered crochet

checkered crochet

Current crochet project.

Inspired by my favorite checkered Vans.

Besides working on improvement here and there in the house, guided by our shrinking to-do list, I keep crocheting too...

I'm doing the utmost to stay creative and try to find a bit of variety in the days that are increasingly similar.

creative cocooning - all patterns 1 euro

wool working creative cocooning

Creative cocooning without cinema, concerts, school, sports, work etc.

Try to stay at home if you can for a while.
It’s an unforeseeable period and we have to deal with it. A new way of life.
And try to spend the days indoors by entertaining yourself with things you never find time for and stay positive.

Being creative can help you to spend your days indoors. Crafting can be very meditative.
Staying at home and not only watch tv, Netflix or read books and magazines, but strive to be creative and experience the calming effect of crochet and knitting.

Many of you might have plenty of yarn in da house to start a new project. Furthermore you can download patterns you can make with yarn leftovers, in case you don't have that much stock.

All crochet- and knitting patterns in my ETSY SHOP are € 1,00 now.

You can find 25 patterns, most crochet but also knitting, smaller and larger projects, for beginners and advanced.

I will donate the proceeds from the Etsy orders to a Corona fund.

We are in this together.

Take care.

Xx
Ingrid

PS: I haven't worked out the above project yet, it's my current project - diagonally striped mittens - however I will try my best to write the pattern soon.

attic archives

woodwoolstool harlequin herringbone pattern

One of my favorites from the crochet archives.

The harlequin herringbone pattern I designed in 2016.

A mix of my two favorite patterns combined in a colorful carpet.

Tonight I was looking in my cool crochet archives to find some inspiration for 'the next project' and maybe I will start working on this one again.

What do you think? Perhaps only two colors?

chevron blanket pattern

New in my Etsy shop: CHEVRON BLANKET PATTERN

The new chevron blanket is finally finished!

I started it last month and it was a super fun project to work on.

Making a blanket requires some experience, but it's not that difficult.

Well, writing the pattern was something else...
I'm not a big fan of that and it simply takes a lot of time and dedication.
But hey, I know from experience that crochet fans will appreciate the work.

So from now on you can download the newest WOODWOOLSTOOL BLANKET PATTERN from my Etsy shop.

With this extensive and easy to follow pattern of 6 pages and chart, you can make this cool blanket yourself. It's lovely as a through on the sofa, but also a cool baby blanket and everything in between.

The size of the blanket is 1.40 x 1.00 meter, however easy to adjust to a different size.

My brand new design is a perfect project for enthusiastic crocheters.

candy cane crochet

candy cane crochet urbanjungle crochet candy cane crochet candy cane crochet paul bowles

Candy cane crochet in the backyard.

I'm working on a diagonal stripes variant of the chevron pillow pattern with pastel pink and neon orange yarn from Marrakech.

And with the unexpectedly nice weather, it was great to crochet and read in the garden.

Inspired by the trip to Tanger I am reading Paul Bowles' novel The Sheltering Sky. Bertolucci's movie with Debra Winger and John Malkovich i've seen years ago.

The book is always better... this theory is probably only true if you read the book first.

crochet top pattern

crochet top pattern crochet top pattern crochet top pattern crochet top pattern

Finally it was warm enough outside today, to wear my new handmade crochet top and take some pictures.

You can download the CROCHET TOP PATTERN in my Etsy shop now.

I've worked out the pattern in a step by step process with lots of detailed photos (11 pages). The crochet top pattern is an easy to follow pattern and it is available in English and Dutch version.

Don't you think the white edge is 'très chic'? It's a subtle and sophisticated finishing touch.

All you need is about 150 grams of cotton and 50 grams for the edges to make your summer crochet top! Choose your favorite colour(s) and get started.

It's not difficult at all and it takes just a few days to make it. I'm already making a second one, this time a striped version.

what to do with yarn leftovers?

on the beach
photo: July 2016 - Domburg beach

Using up your yarn leftovers?

I had slightly more than one ball of pima cotton and designed a crochet (tank) top from the We Are Knitters bossa nova sweater I knitted in 2016.

It has become a super cute (tank) top and i will show it soon.

Waiting for the sun to make some proper pics...

In the meantime i’m working on the #coolcrochet tank top pattern; which will soon be available in my Etsy shop.

golden sample

golden sample striped curtains

New project.

A golden sample to make a filet crochet curtain, opposite to the previous harlequin project.

To prevent ending up again with the wrong size, I made a crochet sample this time. I rarely do this, but it seems to be a good 'investment'.
