mi casa, mimosa

februari 2024 februari 2024 februari 2024 februari 2024 februari 2024 februari 2024 februari 2024 februari 2024

Wednesday 20th of February

New things on the wall;
A graph by Cees Dolk Les arts florissants 41/50, purchased from our savings at the art library SBK Dordrecht.
A Paris plate by Nathalie Lete for Anthropologie.
A mega ceramic cigale of 30 centimeters.
We had the last two objects in our house for a longer time and they were patiently waiting for a suitable spot on the (kitchen)wall.
I bought the ceramic fennel & beetroot years ago in Marrakech. They always hung outside on the fence in the backyard, but due to the stormy weather of the last few months I took them inside and gave them a safer place.

... and because it's mimosa month, I got a new bunch from henk. For I love it so much! We are eagerly awaiting spring, it's nice inside, but I'm really looking forward to garden life. Is it me or will this winter last forever?

our tiny tree ✨

december december december

Our tiny tree ✨

This time we decorated the tree with Christmas hares of Anthropologie that we have collected over the years 🐰

The seven hares below you've have seen before and this Christmas season we have expanded our collection with new metropolitan hares from New York, London and Paris.

These hares will always remain a tradition I suspect and reappear every December.

><((('>

><((('> fish scrubbers

Super cute souvenir from New York, practically flat, because it had to fit in the hand luggage suitcase.

I found the crocheted fish at Anthropologie

A friend and former cool crochet workhsop participant, spotted my fish post on Instagram.

><((('> fish scrubbers

She was inspired to crochet these fish scrubbers after seeing the pair of fish and she happened to find a crochet pattern. @1dogwoof wrote up a pattern for the fish scrubbers a few years back. You can find the free pattern on her blog.

And check the fishes my friend @haveeweanywool made HERE.

Don't you think they are cute?

By the way, I use them as pot holders...

la cuisine

la cuisine la cuisine la cuisine la cuisine

Saturday 18th of August.

Café dans la cuisine. Proper place to drink coffee.

My favorite place in the house is the kitchen.

The light is beautiful because there are many windows. And since the new Moroccan tiles are on the wall, the light is even brighter, still on a cloudy day like today.

The typography mugs I bought years ago at Anthropologie.

And suddenly it's December and freezing cold outside.

Time for warm woolen sweaters, beanies, candles and everything that belongs to this time of year. Christmas countdown...

The utterly cute hare family also has made its appearance.
They are my traditional models on the new collection of wooden x-mas trees last week.

Are you December ready yet? Do you have your tree up?
If you want a sustainable tree that lasts for years and takes up little space, you have 6 pieces left to choose from. This is the time.

d.i.y. handmade luxe looped cardigan

wood & wooly cardigan met mouwen woodwoolstool wooly cardigan rotterdam maas[bike]tunnel rotterdam 019

The handmade crochet luxe looped cardigan you can make yourself.

You can download the pattern in my Etsy shop.

Yesterday I came across a photo on the instagram account of Anthropologie...

A loopy cardigan that looks a lot like my wooly cardigan.
So I went to the Anthropologie webshop to have a closer look;

a hand-knit luxe looped cardigan for $580.00?!

anthropologie cardigan

I did not believe my eyes...

I made a loopy cardigan some years ago, even made some for others and after a lot of request I wrote the pattern.

You can make the luxe cardigan yourself and save some money for a nice city trip.
Haha, why don't you join one of the Cool Crochet workshop in Marrakech next year and I can show you how to work the loop stitch...

If you think the cardigan is too fluffy you can also wear it inside out. Here's a l i n k to an old 'inside out' blogpost from 2013.

I wear mine a lot and it is still one of my favorite cardigans. I always get a lot of compliments and nice comments when I wear it.

plants & plates

green kitchen green kitchen green kitchen green kitchen green kitchen green kitchen green kitchen green kitchen

The spider plant - chlorophytum comosum - has never really been away, because it's so easy to maintain and multiply.

One of the most interesting points of the spider plant is its ability to rapidly propagate itself. A spider baby from the mother plant will often root and within a year it's producing babies of its own, you can give out to your family and friends.

I've send a couple of spider babies to my niece in London and I hope they will survice the journey.

The small green harlequin pot I brought from Anthropogie in Londen and the leafs plate I found at Portazul in The Hague.
