Nieuw seizoen, nieuw breipatroon!

Van restjes garen van voorgaande brei- en haakprojecten, maakte ik eerder deze maand een gebreide spencer. Het leuke is dat je op deze manier de kleine restjes opgebruikt en dat er hierdoor een heel verrassend effect ontstaat. Alles kan!

Inmiddels heb ik er een breipatroon van gemaakt in het Nederlands. De Engelse vertaling volgt binnenkort.

Hello June! Recently I made a summer gilet. This time, however, not knitted but crocheted!

Again with a cool & classy shoulder detail, just like the oversized knitted waistcoat, but with a different twist!

The gilet is a super stylish item for the upcoming season. You can wear it over a summer dress, but also over a t-shirt or shirt. Just right when it's a little cooler, but you don't want to wear a cardigan or jacket.

Some weeks ago I designed a new striped spencer with super nice fit. I knitted everything in one go, so it couldn't be easier!

You see them even more than last year. Three years ago I designed a knitting pattern for a checkered spencer.

It seemed a perfect piece in my winter wardrobe. So this year I wanted to design a new striped spencer with super nice fit. This time I knitted everything in one go, so it couldn't be easier!

I brought my new lilac & yellow striped spencer to Barcelona last week. A perfect garment for a city trip, it's nice and warm on your body and yet easy to wear under a blazer or coat.

The woolen spencer truly is a stylish item for the colder months. You can simply mix it with anything. Wear it over a t-shirt with long sleeves or under a jacket or cardigan. It's perfect for the feminine look, with a blouse, pencil skirt and heels, but can also be combined with pants, even with Adidas track pants ;-)

Mix, don't match. Everything is possible. Well, actually you can let your imagination run wild with this new basic spencer pattern.

2021 and a brand new design, easy to make, cool, warm and unisex!

Last week i've made a colorful striped beanie with ribbed texture.

This week i've made another one with natural colors.

The striped beanie is very easy to make, the fabric looks like it's knitted but actually is an easy crochet technique.

And since we are still in lockdown for a while, it might be a fun project to keep you from getting bored.

You don't need to buy new yarn, because this project is ideal for using up old scraps of wool.

sweater weather - part two

Sweater weather part two!
I like the autumn and winter wardrobe. And I am especially talking about handmade sweaters and cardigans.

We took some photos on the beach the other day. A real autumn day with sun, wind and rain, so don't pay attention to my hair.

Anyway, you can clearly see the diagonal pattern, in the 'arms wide' position and I am very satisfied about the fit and the sleeves.
It was fun to make this diagonal striped sweater and I've been wearing it a few times. Could be my new favorite sweater.

I am considering making another one with a completely different color scheme and smaller stripes.

In the meantime I already received many nice reactions and orders of the crochet pattern, in response to my previous post.

Autumn is here, no escape!

Not my most favorite season, but I do love the autumn and winter wardrobe. And I am especially talking about the warm sweaters and cardigans.

What I also love to do is, design something new again!

I've been working on a new design for the past few weeks, a handmade sweater with a new twist.

I'm fond to create and like to figure out how to design a new sweater. After a few knitted sweaters, I wanted to crochet a sweater. I drew some designs, with lots of color and soon I came up with the idea of a graphic design with diagonal stripes. After a few tries, I had it all sorted out. I took a few balls of tweed yarn from my wool cabinet and the color scheme came naturally.

To actually make the sweater was a lot of fun and I am delighted with the end result. I figured it might be a cool design for a new crochet pattern.

Well I can assure you that making this sweater with my crochet hook was quite a lot easier, than working out the pattern properly and making a graphical chart template with colors and rows. However, I also like this challenge and give myself plenty of time for it.

This one-piece sweater is one size (S/ M) and it's easier to make than you might think. The nice thing about this design, is to crochet a unique handmade sweater yourself with your favorite colors.

checkered, double checkered

Checkered, double checkered, crochet cushion done.

I started the checkered crochet last month and while I was working on a new design for a pillow cover, I stopped halfway.

Not because I didn't like it, but because I was wondering how amazing this pattern would work on a xs woodwoolstool. Hahaha, these kind of jumps I make more often. Creating something while my mind is already working on the next project.

So I put the unfinished pillow project on hold and I started on a checkered mini stool cover.
You might have seen how cute the checkered mini stool has become. And yes, it's a keeper, the cutest piece of furniture in our new bedroom.

I wanted to make another one for sale and that one was gone in a blink.
Unfortunately I ran out of moroccan mini stools, so fingers crossed if all goes well I can bring new ones from the souk in October.

But luckily another cool crochet task was waiting for me and I finished the checkered pillow cover last weekend. The cover has two different sides. One side is white & lilac and the other side is multicolored with 6 different blocks in checkered pattern.

In the same colors I used for the mini stool cover; white, lilac, raspberry pink, pastel pink, bright blue, pale blue and yellow.

The checkered crochet cushion is now available in my Etsy shop and there is only one.

A new xs woodwoolstool design in size cute!

The moroccan stool is handmade of eucalyptus wood from Essaouira.

I made a brandnew cover, with white and pastel colors of the softest moroccan yarn, for the handmade mini-stool.

The checkered crochet cover is inspired on my favorite old Vans and I'm in love with it!

The xs stool is perfect for toddlers, the nursery, as a footstool and you can even use it as a small (bedside) table.

Toddlers love this piece of furniture! They can drag this size-cute stool anywhere themselves.

chevron blanket pattern

New in my Etsy shop: CHEVRON BLANKET PATTERN

The new chevron blanket is finally finished!

I started it last month and it was a super fun project to work on.

Making a blanket requires some experience, but it's not that difficult.

Well, writing the pattern was something else...
I'm not a big fan of that and it simply takes a lot of time and dedication.
But hey, I know from experience that crochet fans will appreciate the work.

So from now on you can download the newest WOODWOOLSTOOL BLANKET PATTERN from my Etsy shop.

With this extensive and easy to follow pattern of 6 pages and chart, you can make this cool blanket yourself. It's lovely as a through on the sofa, but also a cool baby blanket and everything in between.

The size of the blanket is 1.40 x 1.00 meter, however easy to adjust to a different size.

My brand new design is a perfect project for enthusiastic crocheters.

A new xs woodwoolstool design.

I made a brandnew cover, for the handmade moroccan mini-stool.

The xs stools are perfect for toddlers, the nursery, as a footstool and you can even use it as a small (bedside) table.

Toddlers love it! They can drag this size-cute stool anywhere themselves. I'm sure this 'toy' will be their favorite piece of furniture.

New chevron pillow in the making.
Since both chevron pillows I made in January have moved to Boston, USA.

Actually only one chevron pillow was listed in my etsy shop, however Gillian, a friendly customer, asked me if she could buy them both. Well I thought it's better when the pair would stick together anyway.

I miss the pillows in my studio, so I started a new pillow project the same evening. Chevron pillow on repeat, in white & colors, my best loved combination.

I had slightly more than one ball of pima cotton and designed a crochet (tank) top from the We Are Knitters bossa nova sweater I knitted in 2016.

It has become a super cute (tank) top and i will show it soon.

Waiting for the sun to make some proper pics...

In the meantime i’m working on the #coolcrochet tank top pattern; which will soon be available in my Etsy shop.

A golden sample to make a filet crochet curtain, opposite to the previous harlequin project.

To prevent ending up again with the wrong size, I made a crochet sample this time. I rarely do this, but it seems to be a good 'investment'.

At the moment I was preparing this post, the harlequin/striped pillow was still for sale in my Etsy shop. In the meantime it's sold! (wanted to share my inspiration for the slashes anyway...)

time to re-decorate

January is the perfect month to re-decorate. Spending more time indoor, you can easily change your interior with just a few items to infuse some color and texture into your room.

You can re-arrange your existing furniture, giving your room a whole new look.
Add some new accent pillows or posters, this is the perfect time to try out new color combinations. Bright bold colors can add a warm feel to your space for the remainder of the winter months.
