More crazy bunnies

Ohhh brrr, its such a cold evening.  This time last week we were breaking all the records for being so warm, today? .... Snow!

It's my usual last minute rush for Easter cards, so I'm afraid I've gone very CAS (....so sorry to any of my family who are expecting a fancy card Ha!)

All images from Paper Smooches; DP oldie stuff from my stash.

Goofy Easter Bunny

Just a quickie post tonight ... Vampire Diaries is on telly and it's just about the only thing I sit down to watch!

No colouring on this card (except the bunny's ears!).  Cloud and bunny popped up on dimensionals.   Added some googly eyes to make him look even sillier (but don't think they really show in pic).  Hand stitched border (its nice and neat as I used my broken sewing machine to punch the holes!)

Right, that's me!  I'm away.
Hope its nice and sunny with you, its been absolutely glorious this past few days here in Northern Ireland .... just worried now that the weather will think we've had our summer now!

Easter Bunnies

Ohhh we've had a beautiful day today, nice and warm and a wee bit of a breeze.  Got our spuds planted and the ground turned over for planting our onions tomorrow.  We're getting very adventurous this year and we're also going to have a go at growing peas - I remember munching my way through my Granda's fruit and veg patch as a child... I hope my peas will be as tasty as the 'stolen' ones I had back then!

I've popped my middle bunny up on dimensionals and given them all glossy eyes and teeth.  Martha Stewart grass border punch.

Easter Froggy

Hee hee, isn't this such a fab silly little frog, perfect for my froggy-loving SIL! - she was a freebie from Bugaboo ... link on my sidebar <--
Coloured with promarkers. Glitter and gloss added to eggs and enamel accents added to eyes and scalloped border.  Tim Holtz embossing folder.  Central panel and frog both popped up on dimensionals.
Hope you're enjoying the fab sunny weather ... I'm off to do battle with the weeds now!

BTW, does anyone know what happened to Liz at 'Lace Ribbons Buttons and Bows' ... I used to check in on her all the time but her blog is now only for invited readers - has she stopped crafting?

Who's a happy bunny?

Well I'm a happy bunny (kinda!)  I got an emergency appt with the dentist and am now minus one tooth and a whole lot'a pain!  Not exactly the best result ever, but hey, I couldn't stick another night of toothache and at least it was one of the back ones that isn't on show!

Oh I'll probably be MIA for the rest of the week ... I've my interviews on Friday so any positive vibes, etc you can send this way will be most appreciated!!   Soooooooo NOT looking forward to them!

This card is for my wee nephew and I used a High Hopes bunny stamp, coloured with promarkers and loads of stickles added.   I had thought of putting 'happy Easter' on the wee sign but it was too big, and the only other sentiment I had that fitted was 'smile' ... it was only afterwards that I thought I should have put his name there ... Doh!  Oh well, he'll not care, especially as its being accompanied by an Easter Egg!

Scrambling egg!

Painter  Wow, can you believe its Saturday evening already!  I've had a great couple of days off and got the paving in the back garden all power hosed and the garden fence painted.  Looks like a good job, even if I do say so myself!  Though I've a dent in my finger from holding the paintbrush for hours, a few little tiny splinters, split nails and rough skin to show for all my hard work too!  And not much time or energy left for card making, except thiss wee quickie using a fun stamp from Elzybells (now closed).  Its very CAS, though looks busier 'cause of my jazzy DP!

(Don't forget to pop back tomorrow lunchtime if you get a chance and check out the new Dream Valley challenge)

Triplicate Bunnies!

HammeringSorry I've been M.I.A. all week .... its been one of those weeks (again!) in work (finally got my interview date for mid-April, this old restructuring lark has gone on way too long now!) and then today we dismantled our garden fence, put up new crossbars, painted them, got the old wood round to the recycling yard, tidied the garden, and picked the splinters out of my hands....  So I'm pooped now and in need of a wee soak in the bath!  Hopefully we'll have the energy to get the fence panels nailed on tomorrow and if its dry next weekend I'll get it painted ..... don't know why, but I LOVE painting fences!  I reckon if all goes pear-shaped with my job in work I'll set myself up as a fence painter instead!

Anyway, on to my wee card.  I'm blameing it on tiredness, but I should have had my star ribbon brad higher up and I also had a bit of an unsuccessful attempt at the bleached background technique ... believe it or not this is a text stamp - I think I should have used more 'watery' bleach instead of the thick stuff, maybe it would have stamped better??

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday and if you get a chance pop back tomorrow ... I promise to have a much nicer card for you for Dream Valley's challenge #2!

Challenges
  • Sketch from Stamp TV
  • Oldie but a Goodie #13 - Spring is in the Air
  • Marks Finest Papers #45 - use the bleach technique
  • Papertake Weekly - anything goes with the added option of using something old ... I've used this stamp from Shirleys 2 Girls I bought last year and my purple ribbon is oldie stuff from my stash
  • Colour theme from Copic Creations #45 ... I used the yellow orange / blue violet choice

Holy Carrots Batman!

Ohhh, Spring is most definately almost here - I noticed it was bright enough when I got home to actually see how badly my garden needs weeded!  Hopefully the rain will keep off till the weekend as the grass is an absolute quagmire and needs a few days drying out before I can tramp over it to get to the weeds!

Anyway, my card stash is rightly full, so I thought I'd have a bit of fun with this Shirleys2Girls stamp that I bought last year and promtly forgot about ... tsk, tsk!  Coloured with copic markers and then popped the little carrot up on dimensionals.  I liked how it turned out, so I cut out another couple of carrots, added loads of stickles and used them as my embellishments in the bottom corner. (oh, and I see there's the usual blob of un-dried glue ... one of these days I'll wait till its dried before I take the pic !!)

Simon Says Stamp ... make your own embellishments (I hope my sparkly carrots count!)
Sarah Hurley #30 - food and drink
Charisma Cards #7 - Spring has sprung
The Pixie Cottage #57 - use their sketch and/or embossing

Definately the last one!

Well that's my quota of Easter cards for the year, and of course it was the usual mad last minute rush!
This one follows the colour combo from the Cuttlebug Spot to use their blog colours.

Little Red Wagon #22 is to make a Spring card

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #76 is pink green and flowers

Supplies: Digi stamp from Hambo; Cuttlebug and nestabilities; coloured with copic markers; black stickles for the bunny noses and a sparkle gel pen for their slippers;  gold peel off greeting; Martha Stewart picket fence punch; white ribbon

Last but one....!

I managed to stamp this image wonky and even when I trimmed it, it was still wonky, so I stuck it on the card at a wonky angle so it didn't look so obvious!  Then I managed  to touch the white ribbon with ink on my fingers and had to 'disguise' it with some orange stickles!

Supplies: Messy Rabbit stamp from Joanna Sheen, little easter eggs from Stampin Up Bunny Hugs.  Gold peel off greeting.  coloured my flowers to match.

Hoppy Easter

I found these spring bunnies when I was blog hopping, aren't they just the funniest!  (The bunnies are a digi stamp from Hambo)  Coloured the bunnies to match my papers.  The sky was made by dotting my copics (BG00 and C1) and then mushing them together using the colourless blender.  Used a Quickie glue pen and gold glitter to give the bunnies some fancy sandals to cordinate with my gold peel offs.  Made my double bow with the Bow Easy, the most fabulous little gadget ever invented!

Charisma Cardz #12: Spring has Sprung

And there's loads of Easter challenges on the go this week:

OSAAT Easter Egg Hunt

Hopefully I'll get this card posted tonight - our lights keep flickering as if the electric is about to pop off!  We've had nothing but rain this past few days and then tonight we've snow blizzards and glale force winds!  Its hard to believe I was out a fortnight ago digging the garden over in my shirt sleeves!  Make your mind up Spring - March is supposed to 'come in like a lion and out like a lamb', not the other way about!

Anyway, this is my card after following the One Stitch at a Time Easter Egg Hunt - click HERE for the details!
My chocolate coloured Spring Bunnies are a digi download (still haven't found the link for you!), pink ribbon from my stash, pink stickles glitter on their slippers and noses, buttons from my stash, and part of my pastel colour combo from Cheryl - just hope I've included enough of the easter egg elements!

Also for the following challenges:

Simon Says ... Easter and Shimmer

Urgh, I am so over making Easter cards!  I think its because I never really think to buy Easter images, so when it comes to the crunch I don't really have much to choose from!
Apologies in advance for the rubbish photo - if I remember I'll take a better pic tomorrow.  (at least next week the nights will be brighter after the clocks change)
As you can see there's a shimmer on my DP which totally blinded my rubbish camera!  Paper pieced the little flower pot with the shimmery paper too.

Sketch from Creative Inspirations # 53 .... sort of!  I kinda forgot to leave room for my sentiment in the bottom corner!

New and improved Easter Bunny...!

So this card is almost identical to the last one, but this time I revisited a tutorial on Copic Creations for FUR - its still not the best colouring ever (I don't have the right colour markers) but its much better than what it was!
I'm also having problems with my embossing - I can't get these Marianne D creatibles to emboss - I've used my embossing mat but Gina K talks about using chipboard as well- I don't have any of this so had been using a couple of sheets of card, .  It won't emboss (in my nesties either) and if I add any more sheets of card it won't go through the bug.  Help!  Can you buy sheets of chipboard?

Copic Creations #24 is to use one of their past copic techniques

Our Creative Corner OCC - think Easter

Stamping for the Weekend #35 - Easter

Little Paper Shop LPSC59 - Make Something Old, New Again. (Take something you've had for a while and use it again like it's something you just got) - I used my bunny rabbit stamp which I've had for ages and a much unloved and unused pink brad!

Easter Bunny 2

Just trying to get caught up on my Easter cards.  I'm glad we got the gardens sorted yesterday as today has been horribly grey and damp and just generally yeuch!

Supplies: Bunny stamp from Joanna Sheen, sentiment and little easter eggs from Stampin Up Bunny Hugs set, papers fom Daisy and Dandelion, yellow embroidery thread

Sketch from Limelight Papercrafts #43, with the added option of using your favourite ribbon.

Little Red Wagon LRW#20 is to use copic markers

Easter Bunny

This cute bunny is a freebie this week over at Bee Crafty's site - he's just perfect for an Easter card.  My colour combo was inspired by the Tuesday Trigger pic - I embossed my bg to match the woven look of the chair.
Coloured with copic markers - I just wish I had a decent white ink pad and I would have stamped the text with it instead of black.

Silly Bunnies!

I found some multi-coloured pom poms in my local supermarket and they just said 'bunny tails' to me!
The colour combo is from Colour Create - blue and lilac which isn't usually a combination that I would use but I like how it turned out.
Supplies: Peel off Easter Greeting; Penny Black stamp; swiss dots embossing folder; google eyes; pom poms; white gel pen; dotty lilac ribbon.

Card Patterns Challenge #8

I've just discovered Card Patterns ... so this is my first challenge with them! My bunny is from Whipper Snapper - I think he looks pretty good in green! I couldn't get the right colour of pink to match the heart with the backing paper, so I ended up paperpiecing it.

Supplies: Whipper Snapper Bunny, sentiment from Stampin Up 'Bunny Hugs'; K&Co papers; black stickles for bunny nose; nestabilities
