The Crazy One is Back!

Well it's been awhile since I posted and to put to rest any rumors that I expired
( fancy word for kicked the bucket) I am still alive and kicking. Thought I'd share  a cute card technique that I got at a SU class. Using a rippled square punch and some variations of 3 colors it's just punch and place...run through a dotted Swiss folder, add an image you have colored on some circle dies and voila you are through. Easy?? Well a bit time consuming but fun. Hope all of you bloggers are fine and enjoying the start to summer type weather. Nice to see the sun shine here as we had some black and stormy days. Can't wait for the pool to open or maybe I can wait since the winter was nasty and put some weight on these old bones. Maybe some laps in the pool and oh yes...putting the fork down will help me to lose the ugly fat I just happened to pick up.
Have a good week fellow bloggers and who knows maybe I'll see you again soon.

Timeless Tuesday...birthday card

Well it's Timeless Tuesday at Flourishes and we are to do a birthday card so I did just that. My card is done on a card already beautifully fancy edged that comes in a package of 8 put out by Stampin Up. I know cheating huh? But what a beautiful piece of cardstock for a card isn't it! I used Spellbinder's die cut lable 4 for my 2 cut-outs and stamped with the wonderful Cherry Blossom set.Colored with my favorite water colored pencils, added some glitter to the blossoms and ribbon, a few fancies and my phrase is a Stampin Up one which fits nicely or at least I think it does. So anyway who would say unhappiest birthday or have a rotten day? Not me cause if I'm going to make a card I want it to be a nice way for someone nice. Hey I'd love to do a card for a cowboy but as yet all I've seen are hay seed tobacco chewing guys who pretend to be a cowboy...hey I'm getting to know about this stuff and I know a fake when I see one. And since we are coming up to Easter this weekend I want to say a big Happy Easter to one and all. I hope the bunny doesn't forget me cause I love chocolate but then who doesn't huh?

Timeless Tuesday July 12th.....emboss it

Well today at Timeless Tuesday we are to emboss it, either dry embossing or whatever else kind there is...guess that means with powder and a heat gun. Hey it's so hot here I'm not about to heat up a gun and go crazy so I'm using this awesome embossing folder I got at a Stampin Up party. Isn't it a cutie??
Nice border of tulips and so now you need to take off your shoes and smelly or not  bare your feet so you can tip toe through the tulips with me. I'm playing my uke and if you listen really closely you can probably hear Tiny Tim singing in his off  key voice. Crazy old guy and crazy old gal but so much fun to do a little dance..sing a little song, get down tonight. Hey, where the heck am I ??? I'm in a whole new era now but let's blame it on the hot weather. Easy peasy card with just using my folder and a Spellbinder's die for my red background cut and then for the white I just corner punched a little decorative edge. Added a little bling which turned my fingers red with permanent red marker cause the blingers were more pink then red. Used one of the tulips from Flourishes thank-you set. Colored pencils as I just don't know how to be copicsetic. Too hard for me. Hope you're all off ( I don't mean mentally off) to a great week. See you again soon.

Timeless Tuesday for Flourishes

Well today is Timeless Tuesday and the adorable Maki from the DT is challenging us to use a phrase as our focal point. I took a short cut ( mainly because I was in that kind of mood today) had my hair cut and although I think I look like Peppermint Patty, DD and SIL like it. My little Granddaughter 's comment was ...why the poofy look? Crapola, I guess I just can't win in the cutting department. Anyway I did a short cut with this card as it was so easy. Grab a nice phrase from Flourishes, stamp it down and do a bit of a punch out ( maybe I'll punch out anyone who makes fun of my haircut), do a oval scallop to glue it to, add some sweet lavender blingers, a strip of purple along with some white and then my SU edge punch to make a scalloped piece in the green and voila... I'm done. The BG is from Paper Studio and my buddy Mike had it on sale at a cheap price so I grabbed it up.

My house is in slow progress but I'm walking down tonight and grab some photos to share. Have a fun week fellow stampers.

Another Stampin Up one

Well I used my Just Believe set on this card and made it soft as possible with a sweet color called Seashell Pink. Very simple ( just like me) just stamp, add some bling and you are fini. I'm trying to adjust to being in cowboy land and can you believe I already have my eyes on a real cutie at the local paint store. Step # 1 find out if he's married...no ring but let's face it, some of those guys out there are sneeky pete's and don't wear a ring. DD said working in the paint store he probably wouldn't wear one because he wouldn't want to tangle with those paint stirring machines. Guess that would be a good reason and I don't think I'd be as interested if he was fingerless. Oh, well ...on to Step # 2 which is to ask my builder (who knows this cutie) if he is married and if not then I guess I'll be spending some time looking at paint chips. I'll keep you posted. Hope your week is going well...mine is. Talk soon.

Friday challenge...super simple & Penny's challenge

Well how about them apples...being simple comes easy for me being I'm a bit "simple" minded. Mr. Webster says "simple" is not involved or complicated, now doesn't that define me totally??? You bet it does. I simply want to have fun without complication or consequences and how hard is that! Well sometimes I pay the consequences but not too often. Yeah, I know I'm annoying but get over it! Life is too short to worry about the small stuff. This is a Stampin Up card all the way. Cute embossing folder cut on a diagonal to use for side of card, an adorable ornament punch and the little phrase. How super simple it was and also cute to boot. Now you know you love it, and if not then I guess we will say goodbye for now. Have a fun and happy weekend. I plan to eat lots of left overs and especially lovin that punkin pie with whipped topping.
Just realized this qualifies for Penny's Challenge which says no DP and since this card has no DP I guess I'm in.

Timeless Tuesday...on Tuesday WOW!!!

Well I'm ready, set, go today and got my Tuesday card done for a change on Tuesday. Yea, I know you have longer then just one day to do it yet I think if it's called Timeless Tuesday you should do it on Tuesday. Today Dee is calling the shots...I'll take a gin and tonic with a lime twist but not until around 6 p.m. but since it really is a challege shot, she is calling for the use of red, black, and olive colors. Love that combo and it's bound to make for some bee--utiful cards. My little number is done with a black card base followed by olive, red, and white. I stamped with olive ink to create my background on the white using a Scrappy Cat clear set. I found this gorgeous ribbon at Mike's and just had to have it. My little phrase is from SU or Stampin Up as you more refined ladies and gents might say, put on my Nesties little circles. Tied my bow with the fabulous Bow Easy and I'm finished! Now it's your turn to play in Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge too...so go to your stamp room and get stampin. You can click on my Timeless Tuesday button to get to the sight for all the details and see the gorgeous cards made by the team.

Another silly card

Well Ok I promised I was through with the silly cards but....I lied. This little rabbit was the only one left in the set and was screaming at me...Hey you forgot me. I just had to put some ink on the little guy and slap him on a card. You probably wonder why he has pink cheeks don't you? Well the inside of the card says " oops it's a hare past your birthday!" so the little guy is a bit embarassed. Love this set and for those of you who have asked I went through some SU catalogs and found the set in the 2005-2006 book on pg. 87. How's that for devotion to my fans?? The set is called Birthday Banter # 103814. Now I don't promise you'll be able to find it but it's worth a try if you like it. Get in touch with your SU rep. and give that woman the chore to find it and sell it to you. My birthday greeting is from Just Rite and my paper from K&Co. Have a sweet day good friends. It is cloudy here so it's an inside day I guess.
Yesterday I took a crocheting lesson so I can make my own little flowers to put on cards. I'll truly be making them to send to DD Julie but I may keep one or two for me. Please don't swamp me with requests until I really know what I'm doing...the first one looks like a perfect job since the teacher was by my side helping. I'm off...yes in more ways then one.

Just a floral cow...or should I say Moo Moo

Well isn't she udderly cute?? You betcha...she is a floral Moo Moo and at one time or another I know and you know we all owned a mumu or is it moomoo! Golly those things were comfty and you could let it all hang out and nobody even knew the difference. This is another cutie stamp from the Stamping Up set my son's girlfriend bought me at a garage sale. Just did it with my faithful watercolor pencils and added a few glitzy beads on the flowers. On the card's inside it says... I know how much women your age enjoy a Floral Moo-Moo! I think it is so udderly cute don't you! Happy Day to you all.

Happy 93rd. birthday

Well my friend's mother Clara is turning 93 and since she loves a good laugh I am sending her this froggy card which says on the inside...we may not be tadpoles anymore but at least we haven't croaked! I know she'll get a good laugh out of that one and I'm thankful she or I haven't yet croaked either. I'll go down to her place on Thursday and we will go to Bill's greasy spoon for a brunch. This place reeks with grease but she loves it so I just go along with the indigestion I'm sure to get and make her happy. Hope you are all off to a good week. See you soon.

Friday Challenge...Blue & Green

Today's challenge at notimetostamp is to use blue and green and do some piercing. Not body piercing silly but card piercing. This is quite obviously not my talent as even though I try to make a neat attempt I get no cooperation from the piercing tool.
Maybe I could invite in a few of those pesky mosquitos and see what they come up with. Anyhow, I used the two colors and used a SU stamp of this little boy playing in the sand. He looks happy to build a sand castle and why not. Used just colored pencils, my Nestie fancy rectangle, a little chip board button and some ribbon from Mike's place. Simple card.
Happy weekend to you all. We had a storm that broke the heat a bit and took away the humidity and I hope it stays that way for awhile. Keep your summer glow...open a bottle of beer.

Friday challenge Use Half circle

Well today's challenge at notimetostamp is to use a half circle in your layout. What do I know about half circles??? Well I've heard of half baked and half arsed,( which I am most adapt at) so how hard could a half circle be I asked myself. I don't do layouts most of the time in fact the closest thing to a lay out is when I laid out in the sun last summer but that's a whole different story. Anyway I used my large Nestie scalloped circle and a wee smaller one and then proceeded to cut them in half and voila...a half circle. DD sent me this pad of Basic Gray paper called porcelain and this is one of the sheets. Pretty nice. Along with my half cirlces I decided to use some nice black satin ribbon from my old pal Mike's place, some nifty little sparkly stones, a lovely stamp from SU, and a nice birthday phrase from Impression Obsession just stamped in nice black. Put it all together and it's ready for my friend's birthday. I will send her 2 cards, one pretty and one funny cause when you get older you love getting mail that is not a bill.
Weekend time and hopefully it will quit raining and warm a bit. Can't even get out to pull those pesky weeds and it's just breaking my heart. Oh, right ! Have a fun time good people . Tonight is the telling tale for our Detroit Red Wings and their quest for the Stanley Cup....Go Wings!!! WIN..WIN..WIN ! I'm wearing my red under panties to cheer them on.

Timeless Tuesday....day late

Well Timeless Tuesday ( click on my logo and get there) was yesterday but I'm a day late and a dollar short so.... here I am finally making a card. The challenge was to
frame it. Well we've all been framed at one time or another so I figured how hard it that. I used my Nestie's labels 4 to create a spot for my phrase and one a bit larger to create the frame. My phrase is from Stampin Up and I added a Prima flower
that I disected, ( sounds like Biology class doesn't it) added a little bling bead, a bit of ribbon and my dotted paper is from K & Company which in this pad there are some cool patterns. Easy enough to do and since time is limited today with my garden going to weeds, I took the easy way out. Happy middle of the week to you all. See you soon.

Friday challenge ...Ribbon tab

Well to be certain I got this right I decided to add not one or two but three ribbon tabs. Fact is I didn't like my fat ribbons all that much so went with my sweet buddy Mike's $1 bin ribbon. As little Ellie would say one dollah makes you hollah. Anyway I used Kraft color for my base of the card then some pinkish kinda mat and then some cool K & Company background paper. My little birdie is from Stampin Up and my phrase is a Hero Arts one. I cheated and used Walnut distress ink to stamp with cause it produces the right shade of brown. I know I'm a real rebel when it comes to the rules but that's what makes life fun.
Hello....it's the weekend again and as I always say, I hope it is a great one. I'm not paying $10 to go to the fish fry anymore...that's too high for my old lady pension, so I'll just get some Gorton's frozen and do it myself. Cheap old broad, yep I know but my redo on the bathroom is costing big time. Have a fun time and see you next week.

Timeless Tuesday ...Ribbon

Well it's Timeless Tuesday at Flourishes and this week is the use of ribbon on your card. Well I started a seasons card collection last summer and followed it through back to Spring which starts in a few days. So I have posted my 3 old cards for summer, fall, and winter below and now I am ready for Spring. My card shows the first sign of spring....tulips. This is from an old Stampin Up set, just easily colored with my faithful water colored pencils. Add a few mats, and some dew drop type bling and some pretty purple ribbon from my pal Mike's place. Can you believe it really is coming and in just a few days...this Friday it will be the first day of spring. Yeah !!! Before you know it we will be swatting at mosquitos and sitting in our pools letting those hot rays burn our skin to a rich lovely brown tan. Holy moly I'm way ahead of myself but let's face it, we are all anxious for that wonderful summer sun.

Black Ink Friday

Well the challenge over at notimetostamp is to use black ink on your card.Grabbed my Versa Fine black onynx ink and went to work.My cardstock is slate blue with a black mat behind my white main piece. I just got a few new Stampin Up sets and decided to try a couple of stamps out. I love this filigree type stamp for my background design and once again Stampin Up came up with a beautiful sentiment...The Happiest business in the world is that of making Friends. I sure like it better then ..there's no business like show business. And making friends is a wonderful pass time. Want to be my freind?? Oh, but you already are aren't you???
UPDATE ON THE "OLD DUDE" AT DOLLAR GENERAL. Well the old dude is out of his neck brace and into ....are you ready for this??? A pair of WHITE patent leather loafers.
He is also back to his hubba hubba mode. Help, save this poor old lady, who can't run as fast as she needs to.When I want to attract a nice old man, no luck and here is this old coot trying to flirt with me... why am I so darn good looking!
Good golly it's the weekend again so you know what that means don't you? Well don't just sit home moping, go out and have some fun. See you next week.

Timeless Tuesday Challenge ...Flowers

Well today's challenge at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday is to use flowers. I chose the parrot tulip (not the polly want a cracker kind but the one) from the Thank you set by Flourishes. What an easy image to use as it speaks to you and I don't mean like a parrot but instead like a beautiful sound of spring. I used navy blue cardstock along with Denium colored ink and did a bit of layering and added a bit of bling. The phrase is part of a new set from Stampin Up and boy what a wonderful piece of advise to follow...you only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough. I hope you all heed that advise and seize the day each and every day. So, go out there and have a great time today by putting a smile on your face and on the face of everyone you meet, in other words...have a wonderful day!
