Sad News

I came home from work tonight (last night) and learned that Digital-Ink Co. has closed their doors.  This is a sad good-bye.  I wish Judy and all the creators at DICo the best of  luck in their future endeavors.  They will all be missed.

As part of  the DICo Design Team I have a card that I made for the next challenge. This will be my final card as a DICo DT Member.

My creator for the next challenge was to be Judy of M & M Designz and Digital-Ink Co. owner.  I chose her "lovebirds".  The challenge was anything goes.  Judy will be opening another store on her own soon.  As I learn more I will keep you posted.  Also I will be posting the blogs of the other creators as I go along.

Friends Forever

This card is for Stitchy's new Challenge blog.  I have had this image for quite awhile.  It is my favorite of hers.

Since I make my living sewing I could not pass this challenge up.  This is Stichy's first challenge on her new blog....One Stitch At A Time (OSAAT).  So in honor of the first challenge,  which had to have stitching on it,  I used my favorite image of hers..."The Raggedies".  You can find her stamps HERE.

For my card I started with a Denim blue card base and added K&Company background paper.  I stitched it on with a zig-zag stitch on my sewing machine...and then stitched rows along some of the stripes.  I then cut out ovals with my nesties and stitched them together.  The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS and cut out with a craft knife and layered on top with pop-dots.  I used one of my good old $1 stamps for the sentiment and stitched it on.  That is all there is to it!

I am also entering this in the following challenges:

Digital-Ink Co Challenge #17 - Peace

It is time for the Digital-Ink Co Challenge #17  - All About Peace.  The requirements are to create a card about what Peace means to you.  For me Peace is a place within yourself that you can find comfort and contentment.  Here is my card:

The image is "Roses" from Daisy Doodles..one of the sponsors for this weeks challenge.  You can find it here for $1.50.  This is the stamp given to me to use for this challenge.

I started with yellow cs and layered white cs embossed with swiss dots cuttlebug folder and corner punched.  I used oval nestabilities, green organza ribbon and yellow scribbles for the dots.  I found this quote on-line and thought it was perfect for my thoughts about Peace.  My image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS with diamond stickles added.

This challenge runs from February 22 through February 28....(beginning March 1 challenges will be weekly). All you have to do is make a card depicting what Peace means to you and enter it with Mr. Linky  here.   Here is what you can win for playing along:

Don't forget...there is still time to take advantage of the February Sale.. the more you spend..the more you save...  And be sure if you haven't already to go and sign up for the weekly Newsletter.  You can see the new releases every Wednesday and get a free digital stamp each week.  So what are ya waiting for?  Go to Digital-Ink Co. and check out the store and to the Challenge  Blog to get in on the fun and prizes.  And while you're there don't forget to become a follower.  I would love it if you would become my follower also.

Calendar

My post for today is a calendar and not a card.  These really are cute calendar pages.

The calendar images are created by Daisy Doodles.  You can find them at Digital-Ink Co.  It is a whole year for $4.00.  Each calendar page has it's own image.

Here are a few of the pages:

Really, all I did was make an easel card and attach the pages with a ribbon.  There are no special embellishments or anything.  It really is a super quick project.  Would make a great gift in a hurry.  I colored them with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS  and inked around the edges.

I am entering this in 4 Challenges:
A Spoon Full Of Sugar     -   Spring Is In The Air
Inky Impressions  -  Spring
Pink Elephant   -  Ribbon
Little Red Wagon  -  Ribbon
Cupcake Craft  -  Keep It Simple

Daisy Doodles Challenge #2 - Black & White

Today starts the 2nd Daisy Doodles Challenge......the theme is black and white.   Go to Daisy Doodles blog and get all the details.  Here is my card:

OK first of all I admit it...I cheated...but just a little.  The challenge is black and white but I could not bring myself to color the leaves of these beautiful tulips anything but green.  Other than the light green everything is black and white..lol     These are Daisy Doodles Tulips that you have seen me do before.  I love them!  The image is matted on black and mounted on b/w paper matted on white and onto a black card.  I used a MS border punch and punched both sides of a strip of white card stock and glued a b/w ribbon to the center.  I added stickles to the white tulips.

Miss Daisy is doing something a little different with this challenge.  You can use any image you like but if you use a Daisy Doodles Stamp you will get a free image..."Rainy Day Freddy".  You can see him at the top of my left side bar. And to let you in on a little secret...the next challenge is "Bears".  You can find Daisy Doodles Stamps HERE.
You have until 7 pm EST  Saturday February 27th to get your entry in.  Enter using Mr. Linky at Daisy Doodles blog using a direct link to your project  post.    So what are ya waiting for???  Can't wait to see what you create.

Congratulations to the WINNER of the Sketch Challenge #1 .......SANDRA!!!

Cierra's Birthday Card

My baby girl is turning 12 years old!!!   She is the middle child of my oldest son and the only girl.  We lovingly refer to her as "Miss Thing".  She is all girl!  I cannot believe she is turning 12.  This is one of the cards that I made her.  I am not crazy about it...but...I made it with her in mind. She will like it and that is what matters.

She will love this image.  It is "Brat" by Beary Dust. You can find her stamps at Digital-Ink Co.  Not much to tell about this card.  I used plaid paper because Cierra loves plaids and she likes these colors.  Scribbles dots and an organza ribbon and a sentiment stamp and that's it.  I colored her with Prismas and OMS, cut her out and adhered her with pop dots and done.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl !!!

Digital-Ink Co. Valentine Challenge # 16

This card is for Digital-Ink Co. Valentine Challenge #16....we were required to do a card showing some love and using the word "WISH".  The challenge runs from February 8 - February 21 at the Digital-Ink Co. Challenge Blog.

This image is "February Calendar" by Daisy Doodles and sells for only $1.50.  You can find Daisy Doodles Stamps at the Digital-Ink Co. Store.  Check out the Digital-Ink Co. February Sales in my side bar.  You will also see a link to sign up for the Newsletter which comes out every week with the new releases for TGIW and a free digital stamp each week.

For my card I started with green glitter cardstock and layered a piece of DP from my stash over it...I then added paper doilies.  I inked the heart doily with pink pigment ink.  I cut out a piece of green CS with a Labels One Nestie and adhered my image (colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS) and added 3 little organza ribbons.  I cut a heart out with a CB die and embossed it with the Swiss Dots Folder.... added a green organza ribbon.  I went to my sewing machine and sewed all around with a zig-zag stitch....stamped WISH and cut it out with a Nesties Oval inked around the edge with green pigment ink and added 3 pink gems, a hand written sentiment ......and Done!  I really enjoyed making this card.

Scout Challenge at SNR

This card is for the Digital Ink Challenge over at SNR.  It was kind of a tough one.....but I spent 11 years in Boy Scouts with my youngest son.  I started out as a Den Leader/Cubmaster and went on to become an Assistant Scoutmaster.  The same 8 boys that started with me as Wolves in Cub Scouts crossed over into Boy Scouts.  My son was 1 report on 1 merit badge short of becoming an Eagle Scout...I was so aggravated with him.  To get that close and quit....go figure..lol.  This challenge brought back a lot of wonderful memories for me....the boys and our many camping trips such as our week long Scout Camp every summer.  We learned soooo much together and from each other.  So, thanks for this.  On with my card.....

It is not one of my best cards.  I did it rather quickly ...the challenge ends tomorrow and I didn't have the  opportunity to craft until after work last night.  So I colored the images last night and put the card together this morning.  The tent and the cook fire are from Dustin Pike at Doodle Dragon Studios.  The boy is an image called Pokin' Puddles from Prairie Fairy.  He is actually  playing in a puddle but I covered the puddle with the fire.  I  hope that was ok because the boy was perfect.  Anyway I stamped the olive cardstock with the fleur di lis and versamark ink and put the images on nestie ovals..sponged with coffee ink.  I used embroidery floss
and wrapped it and tied it with a square knot...(I have forgotten how to do the knots :( ..lol)  Stamped the fleur di lis and cut it out with a 1/2" circle punch and stamped the word discover.  And naturally I colored the images with Prismas and OMS.  Sorry to ramble on....just enjoying some memories.

One More Tulip Card

This is the 3rd image in Daisy Doodles Tulips Stamp Set.

I have enjoyed this set sooooo much!  It is without a doubt one of my very favorites.  I know I will be using these over and over.  Again it is a very simple card.  K & Company paper layered on tan card stock...image matted on red and tan card stock and a red organza ribbon.  How simple is that?  I colored the tulips with Prisma pencils.  I didn't have a color I wanted for the vase so I dug out my old colored pencils and I colored it with a Crayola pencil.  I inked around the image with Linen Tim Holtz distress ink.  That's all of my tulip cards for now.  Which one is your favorite?

You can find Daisy Doodles Stamps at Digital-Ink Co.

Challenge at Digital-Ink Co.

This is my first challenge as a Design Team Member for Digital-Ink Co.  The challenge is a baby or animal  birthday using the colors red, yellow, green, blue and 1 neutral.  Here is my card:

This image is Emily created by Lil Diva Stamps at Digital-Ink Co.   They have a large selection of digital stamps from 8 different creators.  You are sure to find something you like.

For this card I colored "Emily" with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS and mounted her on an oval cut with nestabilites ovals and embossed with my cuttlebug.....the papers are from my stash.....I tried to repeat the flowers in her hand by using a flower punch in 2 different sizes....the sentiment is computer generated and mounted on nesties labels one....and the Happy Birthday was a stamp I found in a bargain bin for $1.  My neutral color is ivory and I used an ivory organza ribbon.  The flower centers and yellow dots are Scribbles dimensional paint.

Hop on over to the Digital-Ink Co. Challenge Blog and play with us.  Paper Wishes is sponsoring this challenge and they are giving away over $75.00 in prizes.
Come and play....I'll be looking for you!

Daisy Doodles and a New Project

Most of you know that I am on Jules Design Team.  Jules, formerly Jules Junk,  is now
She has started the New Year with a new name and a new blog.  You can see her stamps here.
She has added new ones.  Now for my project.
Miss Daisy this is for you!

I love to stitch on CD's....almost as much as coloring images...lol.  This is one of  Jules images and I thought that with her new name this was the perfect image.  I colored it with Prismas and OMS.  CD's are very difficult to photograph so this picture does not do it justice...it really does look better in real life.  I hope you like it.  I really had fun making it.

I have another card with one of her images that I will show you tomorrow.  Until then
Happy Crafting!!!

It has been forever since I posted or made a card.  I have had a lot going on.  But...I did make a card and I feel normal again.....well normal for me anyway.  Here is my card:

I am new to challenges and I managed to do 3 challenges with this card... WOOHOO!!!!

Now for the details:     Stamp by Lexi's Creations at Digital-Ink Co.  I think he is just the cutest.  His shaggy hair reminds me of my Grandson..lol.  Anyway it is a 6"x6" square card and I used paper & card stock  I have had in my stash FOREVER.  The sentiment is a Studio G $1 stamp(don't you just love those?!).  And of course, colored with Prismacolor Pencils & OMS.    I hope you like it!!!!

Announcement and BD Calendar

I have an announcement to make.  I have known for a little while but wasn't allowed to tell.  But I can now.  I have been chosen for the Digital-Ink Co. (DICo) Design Team .....yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!  I am so excited and very nervous as all of this is really new to me.   But I have a lot to do to get my blog ready and myself ready for the first challenge later this month.  If you have never been there go over and check them out....be sure and look at the challenge blog, too.  Lots of great Digital Stamps that I can't wait to play with.  See you there...lol

One of my resolutions this year was to do better with family and friends birthdays.   They manage to slip up on me so I decided to make myself a Birthday Calendar.

The image is one of Jules which is one of the creators at DICo.  Colored with Prisma Pencils and OMS, Paper from my stash and the swirls are a Sissix die used in my Cuttlebug.  It is in an acrylic picture frame from the Dollar Tree Store.      One of my other resolutions are to work on my picture taking.  There is a glare across the bottom of the pic.  Anyway I did have a little help with taking the pic:

Meet Buddy!  He decided to get right in the middle of it..lol...If I wanted to take pics of him it would never happen.  It's all on his terms.

Anyway, I hope you like my calender.

DICO New Beginnings Challenge

I made this card for the Challenge over at Digital-Ink Co. and it really is prettier in real life:

here are the requirements taken from the blog

"New Beginnings DC0014
Our challenge is to create a card or layout using the following recipe: gold or silver/gray or black and something glittery, ribbon, and incorporate some kind of distressing. Also we would love to read some of your New Year’s resolutions."

This was kind of a tough one for me. I had this image from Reece's Designs and wanted to use it.  Colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS  I started out with black CS for the base....light gray CS embossed with CB Textile Embossing Folder inked with black ink....black & light gray CS cut out with oval nesties and edged with silver leafing pen...sentiment cut out with deckle edge nestie....black organza ribbon..tag with 2010 written with silver leafing pen....I used silver stickles on the ribbon and card and glass effects on the truck windows. I inked all the edges for distressing.  The sentiment says  "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow"  and is computer generated.

I don't normally make New Year's resolutions but I do have some things that I want to work on:
1.  Get my digital images and files organized
2.  Learn to take better pictures of my cards
3.  Do better with my swaps
4.  Keep on top of  family birthdays (they have a way of sneaking up on me) and get cards mailed on time
5.  Learn how to say No...I sew for a living full time and end up with tons of side jobs that I don't want to do        because I can't say no and it takes away my time for crafting.  My craft time is important to me and I need to take it back.
I think that's it.......and if anyone has any tips they would like to share for the first two I would love to hear them.

Go over to Digital-Ink Co. Challenge Blog and see what the Design Team has done and get in on the challenge.  You could win.

I feel like I have talked your head off so I will sign off for now.  Have a great day!!!!!

More Charlie

I just love Charlie!  He has got to be my favorite Christmas character.

This first card is a Spring Card.  Image by Jules. I used glitter glue on the trees and mistletoe and faux flowersoft (HollySoft) on the snow.  The tutorial for the snow can be found here.  When I find the tutorial again on the Spring Card I will post it.  (I lose more stuff on here).  And again..lol...colored with Prisma Pencils and OMS.  I got a 36 pencil set from Michael's in the fall.  I used a 50% off coupon.  I didn't know if I would use them much so I didn't want to spend too much.  WELL!  Who knew they would be my all-time favorite thing!?!  I have since added a pencil here and there and have around 55 pencils.  I have used them so much that they are getting real short. So I told Santa that  I want the 132 set for Christmas.  A girl can dream....and when I dream I have visions of 132 Prisma pencils dancing in my head....LOL!

Anyway, on to the next card... ( I get carried away with my pencils....)    This one is another Charlie from Jules.  It is her newest one.  I think after hanging out with Holly he doesn't want to take a trip around the world.....

Colored and cut out with Circle Nesties and paper & ribbon from my stash is Charlie not wanting to go....poor Charlie!

You can  get all the Charlie's over at Jules Stamp Place or at Digital-Ink Co.

Off  to get ready for work...Have a great day!

Challenge at Digital-Ink Co

I already had this image and saw the challenge over at DICO so decided to make a really quick card.

The image is a stamp created by Lil Diva Stamps at Digital Ink Co.  I colored it with Prisma Pencils and OMS and cut it out with Oval Nestabilities.  The paper is from my stash.  I added organza ribbon and  done.
After coloring I think it took less than 10 minutes.  Great for last minute.

My husband loves for us to watch a movie together at night so I sit in my recliner and color.  We are both happy and I have digi's colored for my stash....lol
