Daisy Doodles - "Color Your World"

Challenge time over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges!!  The Challenge this time is to use any colors except brown or black.  I chose to use Miss Daisy's "Kite".  It's almost Kite Season so it seemed fitting.  Here's my card:

Another very simple card colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Goo Gone.  I didn't have any sponges so I did my clouds with a paper towel.  Not perfect but they'll pass .... LOL!

Stop by the other Design Team Blogs (in my left sidebar) and see their cards.  They are sure to inspire you.  Visit Daisy's Digi Doodles Store and see all of the lovely digi stamps and enter the challenge.  Hope to see you there!!

Daisy Doodles Sketch Challenge

Hi again!  The challenge over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges this time is a sketch challenge. And believe it or not I managed another card.  Second one in 6 months.  WOOHOO!!!!!!  Here is my card:

I planned on using my Nesties on this card only to discover that I lost them too.  Of all of the things I wanted the Nesties were at the top of my list.  Oh well ... I wasn't going to let that stop me.   So I cut my ovals out by hand.  My friend Joanne sent me an envelope with some papers and some odd and ends which worked perfectly for this card.  Thanks Jo!!!!! :)  I colored the image "Simply Daisies" with Prisma Pencils and blended with Goo Gone.  I used the papers that Joanne sent me and the medallion was already scored.  I just had to glue the ends together ..pretty easy.  You can find this image as well as many other fabulous images at Daisy Doodles.  The sentiment I did in PSE.

Make sure you check out the rest of the Design Teams cards.  You can find their blog links on my left sidebar.  Use the sketch and get your card linked up for the challenge.  If we get 100 entries Miss Daisy will have 3 prizes up for grabs.

Here is the sketch:

I am entering this card in these challenges:

Happy Easter

The new Challenge at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges is "EASTER".  Daisy Doodles has some really cute Easter images.  Here is the one that I chose:

This image is called Li'l Duck.  Isn't he cute?  You can find him HERE at the Daisy's Digi Doodles Store.

There wasn't really much to this card.  I took a piece of white cardstock and sponged blue and green inks to look like grass and clouds.  I mounted it on a yellow card base.  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and OMS and cut it out with my craft knife and popped him on the card.  The sentiment is a Studio G clear $1.00 stamp from Michaels.  Go over to Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges Blog  and see the rest of the Design Team cards and join us in this challenge.

Challenges:
Creative Inspirations  -  Easter
Bee Crafty  -  Easter
Cardmad fairy's Digi Days  -  Easter
Meljen's  -  Easter
Phindy's Place  -  Easter

Spring Has Sprung

The new Challenge over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges is "Spring".  It is no wonder that I chose this image to use.  My favorite thing in Spring is all the flowers that pop up after the Winter.

I live in West Virginia so when I see the Daffodils I know Spring is right around the corner.  When we were kids we called them Easter Lilly's.  They pop up out of the ground everywhere right before Easter.  Along the side of the road .. on hillsides .. just all over.

My card was inspired by Gina K's cropped circles video.  The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.  The image from Daisy's Digi Doodles has the Daffodil's and the sentiment.   You can find it HERE.  I used Nesties and papers from my scrap basket.  This little card only measures 4.25 X 4.25.

Stop at the Challenge Blog and look at the rest of the projects from the Design Team to see their idea of Spring.  And get your Spring project entered to win.

Challenges:
Totally Gorjuss  -  Spring is sprung
Polka Doodles  -  The spring has sprung

Wee Memories -  Anything Goes

Daisy Doodles -Luck Of The Irish

It's challenge time over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges.  For this challenge the theme is "GREEN".  I had to go with St. Patrick's Day.  Here is my card:

I used 2 images from "The Luck of the Irish" set at Daisy's Digi Doodles.  I can't remember where I got the sentiment.  It reads:
For each petal on the Shamrock
This brings a wish your way
Good Health, Good Luck
And Happiness for Today and Everyday.

I colored my little guy with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.  He was really fun to color.  Everything else came from my stash.  I am determined not to buy anything else until I have put a big dent in my stash.

Be sure and check out the rest of the Design Team and see their projects.
Then go to Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges and enter your "GREEN" project.

The Challenge this time over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges this time is "Anything Goes".  For my card I decided on "Ready For Bed".  I LOVE a nap.  My little dog "Pepper" and I are napping Queens since Winter began...LOL  So it is no wonder that this image appealed to me.

Daisy Doodles "Festive Colors"

Hi  :)   The new challenge over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges is "Festive Colors"..... any colors that say Christmas to you.  I must be a traditional gal coz red, white and green say Christmas to me.  Here is my card:

Let me introduce you to "Jack".  He is brand new .. just released yesterday.  When I saw him in his winter hat and scarf I could just imagine him on a lot selling Christmas Trees in the snow.

I colored him with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS and layered him on a Red Nestie Rectangle.  I started out with a dark green card base and added white CS embossed with Cuttlebug Snowflake Folder.  Then I punched the trees out of the same dark green with an EK Success punch and embossed them with the Swiss Dots Folder.  I distressed the edges with scissors and used a nail file on them to make it look like snow.  Added a ribbon and the image.  Oh and I made a little sign and cut around his paws with my exacto knife so he could hold it and added some stickles.

As cold as it is here I want that hat!!!!!!  It looks so warm.

Check out the rest of the DT Blogs (located on my left sidebar) and then play along with us at the Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges Blog.  If you need an image there are lots in the $1 section at the Store (Daisy's Digi Doodles).  You can pick up Jack for only $1.

D2D - "Kaela"

The image at Delightful Inspiration - Designed 2 Delight Challenge this week is "Kaela- Dressed as an Angel"

I don't usually do shiny cards but I went nuts with shiny on this one.  The background is gold glitter and I used gold and silver stickles and gold and silver leafing pens on the edges.  The ribbon is shiny, too.  You can tell so much here but in real life it's 1000 times prettier.  Go over to Delightful Inspiration and see the rest of the cards.  Some beautiful work!!!   Thanks Faith!!!!

D2D - "Harvest Basket"

I went on vacation and missed the last 2 challenges over at Designed 2 Delight and couldn't wait for this one.  And what a beautiful image.  It was certainly worth waiting for.

This was probably the quickest and easiest card I have ever done.  After coloring with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS I used my new Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and cut out the center with a Nesties Oval (took a nail file to it) and glued them together.  I decided I liked it as is so didn't add any embellishments.  I hope you like it.  You still have one more day to go to Designed 2 Delight and get the image to play along.  I also am entering this into the Double Delight Challenge.

I'm very excited about the new Daisy Doodles Challenge.  It is "Land, Sea or Air".  Any mode of transportation.  Here is my card:

I decides to use this Airplane from Miss Daisy's brand new set "Travel Bugs".  How cute is this ?!?  You can find her stamps at Daisy's Digi Doodles Store.  Go and get the details about the upcoming raffle, too.

This was really a very simple card.  You know me ...  I like simple ... LOL.  I sponged the clouds on white cardstock for my sky.  The plane is colored with PrismaPencils and OMS.  The Birthday Banner is from one of the "Freddy" sets ... sponged with yellow ink and a yellow poca-dot ribbon.  All on a blue card base  and done.  I just think this little plane is the cutest.   Go to Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges blog and enter your project.  And stop by the rest of the Design Team blogs and see their beautiful cards.  You can find them on my left side bar.  We also have a guest designer ... Celebrate Bonfire Night

Hi!!!  I am still on vacation with 2 more days to go.  I am enjoying time with my twin brother and his family.  It is always so much fun to catch up.  The challenge over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges is Bonfire Night.  At the end of my post I have some history of Bonfire Night if you are interested.

I must say that this one was a challenge for me ... LOL  I made a card without my craft tools.  You forget what is was like without paper trimmers.  I appreciate my craft room all the more now.  Anyway here is my card

Be sure and go see what the rest of the Design Team came up with.  Some very talented gals.  You can find their blog links in my left side bar.  Now I am going back to my vacation...have a great day!

The History of Bonfire Night ... November 5th
Four hundred years ago, in 1605, a man called Guy Fawkes and a group of plotters attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London with barrels of gunpowder placed in the basement. They wanted to kill King James and the king̢۪s leaders.

When Queen Elizabeth 1st took the throne of England she made some laws against the Roman Catholics. Guy Fawkes was one of a small group of Catholics who felt that the government was treating Roman Catholics unfairly. They hoped that King James 1st would change the laws, but he didn't
Catholics had to practise their religion in secret. There were even fines for people who didn't attend the Protestant church on Sunday or on holy days. James lst passed more laws against the Catholics when he became king.

A group of men led by Robert Catesby, plotted to kill King James and blow up the Houses of Parliament, the place where the laws that governed England were made.
The plot was simple - the next time Parliament was opened by King James l, they would blow up everyone there with gunpowder. The men bought a house next door to the parliament building. The house had a cellar which went under the parliament building. They planned to put gunpowder under the house and blow up parliament and the king.
Guy Fawkes was given the job to keep watch over the barrels of gunpowder and to light the fuse. On the morning of 5th November, soldiers discovered Guy hidden in the cellar and arrested him. The trail of gunpowder at his feet would never be lit.
He was tortured and questioned about the other plotters. To start with he didn't tell the soldiers anything about the plot. But, eventually he started to tell the truth.

In celebration of his survival, King James ordered that the people of England should have a great bonfire on the night on 5th November.
The event is still commemorated annually in England on 5th November by fireworks and burning "Guys" (effigies) on bonfires.

DD Challenge - Manly with an Autumn theme

Gosh time sure goes by quick.  Time already for the new Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges Challenge.  This one is a card for a Man with a Fall theme.

I really had fun with this card.  I love the Stamp TV technique videos.  This one was distressed stripes background.  The background was done one stripe at a time using distress and pigment inks.  I then printed out the Leaves from Daisy's Digi Doodles and sponged the color on.

Daisy Doodles - "Keep It Simple" Challenge

The new challenge over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges Blog is "Keep It Simple".  We were challenged to do a card using only one (1) embellishment.  I love the Clean and Simple Cards myself.  With Fall fast approaching I am  finding myself working on Fall cards.  It is getting cooler here... but beautiful weather right now.  50's at night and 70's during the day.  How perfect is that?  Anyway I felt the urge to hang on to Summer a little longer... LOL.  I chose the "Hammock" image from Daisy Doodles Summer Set for my card this time.
I have used this image several times.  You can find this image as well as many others at Daisy's Digi Doodles Store.  This time I did it a little differently.  I have been watching the videos at Gina K.'s Stamp TV and cased one of her simple Christmas cards.  (I've been casing her a lot lately) Very easy!
Supplies Used:
White Card Base ... Black Cardstock ... Cuttlebug Swirls Embossing Folder ... Black Ribbon ... $1 Clear Stamp for Sentiment  ... Prisma Pencils ... OMS

D2D - "Oak Wreath"

This week we had another Fall Image from Faith over at Designed2Delight Delightful Inspiration.  This one is called "Oak Wreath"

Forgive the photo...my camera batteries are dead and I haven't gone out to get more so I had to scan it.  Also after I scanned it I realized that I didn't have another piece of  DP that I had cut to use on this.  It had the golds in it and was suppose to go behind the brown.  Oh well...LOL  Go over and check out Delightful Inspiration and get in on the fun.  This card also qualifies for The Double Delight Challenge.
