Summer Daises

Sommaren är här! Man känner det i luften, alla semesterplaner, barnen har sommarlov, man räknar ner dagarna till dagen då inte klockan behöver ringa på morgonen...

På fredag är det midsommar (redan?!), och prästkragar tycker jag hör midsommar till. Jag har gjort ett stilrent kort som passar till många olika tillfällen.

Summer is here! You feel it in the air, all holiday plans, the kids are on summer vacation, you count down the days to the day when the clock does´nt need to ring in the morning...
Next week is Midsummer day (already?!), and daisies belong to midsummer. I have done a clean and simple card that fits many different occasions.

Bakgrunden är stämplad med limegröna och ljusblå blommor, samma blomma som använts till blommotivet. Blomstjälkarna har ritats dit för hand.

The background is stamped with lime green and light blue flowers, the same flower used on the main subject. The flower stalks are drawn by hand.

I love making birthday cards! It feels so good to have a bunch finished around the house so that you don´t have to make one last minute. This time I´m showing you a really romantic card using the new Vintage Rose papers, cutouts and a new stamp:

A little box

Today I´m gonna show you a little box that I made. It´s almost the size of a small Swedish matchbox made out of ordinary white cardstock:

Before I assembled the box I glued a patterned paper from Reprint (that I discovered is no longer available but it would look lovely in any of the new ones) that I chalked the edges on. I cut a strip of the same paper and stamped the text. I decorated with some leaves and a flower.

Blommor, blommor...

Som fortsättning på förra veckans projekt, så kommer här ett exempel till på hur man kan variera ett stämpelmotiv.
Detta är en stämpel som funnits länge, men den är alltid lika aktuell. Jag kan inte ens räkna hur många gånger jag använt den här blomman.

As a continuation of last week's project, here is another example of how you can vary a stamp motif.
This is a stamp that has existed for a long time, but it's always up to date. I can not even count how many times I used this flower.

Till höger syns originaltrycket i svart.

To the right is the original stamp impression in black.

Grattis på födelsedagen!

En ask är alltid roligt att göra! Alla kanter är skrapade med en Edge Scraper och "sotade" med en stämpeldyna för att få det lite slitna utseendet. Asken är först grundmålad med vit Gesso.
Stämpeltrycket har jag gjort i två delar; först färgade jag in första ordet och stämplade, sen tvättade jag rent den och färgade in de två andra orden. På så sätt kan man dela på en mening som inte annars skulle få plats. 

A box is always fun to do! All edges are scraped with an Edge Scraper and "blackened" with an ink pad to make that worn look. The box is first primed with white gesso.

The stamp impression I made in two steps; first I colored in the first word and stamped, then I washed it well and colored the other two words. This way you can split a sentence that would not otherwise fit.

Blommorna har jag låtit gå runt asken från ena hörnet till det andra. En liten cykel pryder också framsidan.

The flowers goes around the box from one corner to the other. A small bike also adorn the front.

Friendship card

"Vänskap får själen att blomstra" står det på stämpeln, och det är väl bara att instämma. Kanske har du en vän som behöver bli påmind om hur mycket du uppskattar honom eller henne? På detta kort är blommorna i fokus, med en knippe rosor som klättrar över tagen så att det nästan är svårt att se var blommorna slutar och pappret börjar.

The stamped sentiment says "Friendship makes the soul blossom", and who can argue with that? Maybe you too have a friend that needs to be reminded of how important he or she is to you? This card really focusses on the flowers, with a bunch of roses that flow over the tag so it's hardly possible to see where the flowers end and the patterned paper starts.

Rosenbladen har jag klippt ut för hand ur ett mönstrat papper. Alla kanter är skrapade med en Edge scraper för en sliten look. Symaskinen har fått jobba lite, med både rak- och zig-zag-sömmar. De fina "spröten" är ett papperssnöre som jag tvinnat upp för att få tunnare trådar.

The rose petals are fuzzy cut from a patterned paper. All edges are distressed with an edge scraper. My sewing machine got to work a little as well, with both straight seams and some zig-zag. The cute "twigs" are from a piece of burlap twine that I untwined to get thinner strings.

Mycket av lite...

Ett jättebra sätt att bli av med småbitar är att göra ett "pussel". Här är tre olika mönstrade papper ur Reprints kollektion som bildar bakgrunden. Jag har klistrat dem på en vit ruta och sedan har jag sytt med symaskinen över alla skarvar.

A great way to get rid of the small pieces is to make a "puzzle". Here are three different patterned papers from Reprints collection that forms the background. I've pasted them on a white square, and then I have sewn with the sewing machine over all joints.

 

I mitten av kortet sitter en grupp med blommor tillsammans med lite band. En av blommorna har piffats upp med glitterlim. Jag valde att sätta dit en grattishälsning, men det kunde lika gärna vara en lyckönskning på bröllopsdagen...

In the middle of the card is a group of flowers along with a little ribbon. One of the flowers has been spiced up with glitter glue. I chose to put a congratulation greeting on it, but it could just as easily be a congratulation on the wedding day...

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone!
Hope you´re having a nice Good Friday and relaxing with family and friends.
Today I´m not gonna show you anything that is Easter related - it´s gonna be a birthday card.
We have a couple of birthdays coming up around here so I thought I´d get a head start. The card I´m showing today has a teal and turquoise theme:

I colored the cute stamp Emelies little kittens - Keya with Spectrum Noir pens. Then I stamped the greeting stamp Grattis hjärta and colored that too with Spectrum Noir. I digged out one of my old decorative scissors and cut out the heart. I also inked all the paper edges.  

As decorations I used lace, half pearls, leaves, white flowers and a brown/teal flower. 

The papers I used are  from the new spring collection: Queen of heart and Vintage beige mini dots .

I have used Reprints new so awsome papers, Tim Holtz tag, 

Rhinestones, Brads, Roses, Stickles, Letters, Flowers and

colored everything with some white Crackle Paint.

A shabby tag with an owl

On this tag I´ve used a lot of white crackle paint.

I love when the things I make are very "shabby chic".

I´ve colored the owl with Distress ink.

And the backside for some small personal text.

A crib in 3D

I´ve used Reprints papers at this crib.

I´ve used double layers of papers everywhere.

The little heart is a brads, and I´ve put pearls in the corners

ad at the butterfly.

Lace and flowers...

I´ve putted some glozzy accent at the blue flowers for a glossy effect.

The heart in the crib is colored with crackle paint.

Did you see the small teddy bear at the pillow!
That´s from a ribbon.

En liten hälsning

I fredags hämtade jag hem ett paket från Reprint med några av de nya papperna, och jag kan bara säga - snygga! Lätta att använda, passar till det mesta.
Här har jag använt baksidan på ett av pappren ur den senaste kollektionen. Symaskinen har också dammats av och fått sätta sin prägel på kortet. Kanterna har fått sin obligatoriska "svärta" såklart.

Last Friday I picked up a parcel from Reprint with some of the new papers, and I can only say - gorgeous! Easy to use, fits most occasions.
Here I have used the back of one of the papers from the latest collection. The sewing machine has been dusted off and had set its mark on the card. The edges have had their obligatory "blackness" of course.

Jag har klippt ut en fjäril ur ett papper och klistrat in den i en kapsyl. Lite glitterlim på vingarna och på med glossy accent över hela bilden. Tim Holtz fantastiska dekortejp passade också in tillsammans med lite spets och några små härliga blommor.

I have cut out a butterfly out of a sheet of paper and pasted it in a bottle cap. A little glitter glue on the wings and on with glossy accents over the entire image. Tim Holtz fantastic decorative tape fit in nicely along with some lace and some small beautiful flowers.
