Doggies Need to Stay Hydrated Too!

 Hello Ai fans!

Today I have some dog themed shaker cards for you.

These did not set out to be shakers.
I had cut the dog out with my circle dies and had
intended to leave it just like that with a matte around it.
I still had my snow globe domes out from last week though
and noticed that they would fit perfectly around this little guy.

After stamping and coloring the image I used Diamond Stickles to drip water
out of the tumbler onto the floor.  You can just ignore the little dog hair
that attached itself to my dome...lol!
(We'll just say it's there for authenticity)

I have always cut a circle frame to put around the dome when I've
used it in the past but I didn't this time because I wanted to be able to
see the entire tumbler. I used the paw print die to cut a stencil out for the
tumbler. Once I had the die cut OUT, I used a black marker to stencil the
paw onto the tumbler.

I love finishing the insides of my cards as well.
I have so many friends that are dog lovers that will enjoy
this card. I hope you do too!

Bugs & Kisses Shaker Dome

Hello Ai fans and welcome to our newest challenge,

All A-Buzz!

We want to see your crafty projects using INSECTS!
Bees, butterflies, snails, ladybugs, caterpillars, dragonflies, spiders (yes, I know that they're not
actually an insect but they count) Any creepy crawly.

Today, I've created a shaker card using the little domes from
Art Impressions. They aren't JUST for snow globes!

I began by coloring the images that I wanted to put inside
the dome. I cut a circle slightly smaller than the dome and
adhered the little house, flower, fence etc. to that.
Then, I cut a white circle the same size as the circumference
of the dome and glued my smaller circle to that.

Using the same two circle dies, I cut a little frame to go on the outside
of the dome. It's covered in a protective plastic film to keep it free of
fingerprints until you're ready to use it. I roughed mine up a bit so you
could see what I mean. Be sure to remove this BEFORE adhering your
frame to the outside.

My next step was to lay out my pieces and kind of get an idea
of where I wanted things. At this point I decided I wanted a sentiment
on the front so I scooched things up a bit to accommodate that.

Now I have everything glued down EXCEPT for my dome.
It's time to put the beads in. I selected the amount that I wanted
and laid them on top of the little scene.

Then I peeled the backing off of the dome and placed
it over it. At this point I added the green
frame to the outside of the dome.

I used a different sentiment on the inside. I love finishing
the insides of my cards too.

I hope you enjoyed my shaker card and will give this challenge a try!
I can't wait to see what you create.

3 Bee Shaker Thank You cards

Happy Monday everyone!

Today I have a trio of Bee themed thank you cards.

I feel like I always need a thank you card for someone, which is a GOOD thing!
It means I have so many wonderful people in my life who I feel I need to thank
all of the time for being there for me.

My cards are shaker cards and I used a variety of black, yellow and clear seed beads in them.

On the inside I used long retired bees and pussy willows from Cornish Heritage Farms. 6021 FUM Sweet Bee.

Bee shaker card

Hello everyone!

Today I have a beautiful bee themed shaker card that my
friend requested for her daughter's birthday.

She and her daughter love bees as much as I do so this one was SUPER fun to make.

Her daughter's name is Jessica so I added the J to personalize it a bit.

More bee dies and some embossing folders decorated the inside.

Art Impressions Sparkle and Shine Seahorse!

Hello Ai fans!

There's a challenge going on over at Art Impressions right now that I'm pretty sure is the most perfect challenge EVER for me!!

Sparkle and Shine!!
Bling!!!

I decided to make a shaker card using one of the Ai Freebies.

I used the piece that was cut out of the front to place behind the seahorse.
Next I added some Stickles to the coral and I tried something new.  I didn't wait for it to dry.  I added my beads and gave it a shake.  I wanted to have sparkle all over my card. Some of them stuck and some still shake when you jiggle the card.
I used Antique Frame - Penny Black Die for the frame and the circles were cut using Frantic Stamper Precision Die - Bubble Oval and Frantic Stamper Precision Die - Coral And Seaweed Oval.  The darker purple right behind the sea horse in the negative area that was cut out of the coral frame.  I turned it upside down so some coral would hang down behind him.  Then I cut and "popped up" the front frame with the bubble oval and some foam tape.  I used some acetate from packaging to form the front of the shaker so the beads wouldn't fall out.

I never seem to be able to get glitter to photograph well but in person it's very pretty.  There's also some Wink of Stella on the seahorse.

Happy 8th Birthday Sophia!

Hello Ai fans!

Today is a fun day over at Art Impressions!
We're sharing our projects using the newest sets from the Funny Farm line.

I decided to do a round shaker card because it just sounded fun.
I "may" have gotten a little over zealous with the beads in this first card.  The thing is...you can't tell until it's all sealed up. Oops!

When you shake the beads you can see parts that you couldn't see before.

I made a second shaker in slightly different colors for my friend's autistic niece.  She loves tactile things so I thought she'd enjoy the shaker.

On the inside of the card I put a frog on an action wobble.  Another interactive piece on the card that she could enjoy.

Welcome Baby! from Art Impressions

Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing a fairly new set to Ai.
This adorable image comes from the set called

I wanted to put together a shaker that reflected something sweet and feminine.  I used some seed beads, sequins and tiny little safety pins.

A friend of mine has requested a baby card for her friend who is due this spring.  She doesn't yet know the sex of the baby so if it's a girl...I'm ahead of the game. If it's a boy...I'll need to get busy with THIS set instead!

I used one of the sentiments and a small
image from the set on the inside of the card.

Happy new baby!!
