Ballooning Through the Mountains from Art Impressions

Hello and happy Thursday everyone!

Yesterday there was a new release on the Art Impressions website.

I've used the new 5789 – Hot Air Balloon Set.

This set is very special to me because I grew up in a ballooning community.
My neighbor was the first pilot in my area and we host a Hot Air Balloon festival every year.
I've been up twice for full flights and when I was a child he used to let us help set up the
balloon and would "hop" us through his pastures on tethered rides for fun.

Though we don't quite have mountains like these in my area, I couldn't resist using the 5198 – WC Mountain Set with the balloons.  The matte was cut with a frame from 5768 – Decorative Journal Page Set 1. The striped paper is from 5835 – Mini Journal Paper Pack and the sentiment is from 5797 – Little Things Sentiment Set.

Be sure to check out our two challenges for your chance to win free stamps!

I can't share the second one just yet because it's set to go live at noon.
I hope you enjoy them!

"Show Your Bow" Handmade, Dyed or Uniquely Tied Art Impressions challenge

Hi everyone! Renee here and today I'm sharing a card made with the wonderful Up and Away image. This is a LIMITED EDITION and is only available until May20th.  That means you have just a few more days to get your hands on it!  All proceeds go to the Obediah Fund, which will support Open Arms Internationals Kambi Teso outreach in Eldoret, Kenya.  Your purchase will help build a school.

Since this week's challenge is all about bows I made a fancy bow for my card.  I've included a basic tutorial if you want to give it a try.  (see below)

Now that the Girlfriends have taken to the air...nothing can stop them.

The darker blue gingham ribbon is 12" long and the lighter colored one is 17" long.
Keep in mind that all of these measurements can be altered depending on how big you want your bow.

The organdy ribbon is 12" as is the solid blue.

After laying out the ribbons you want in your bow just tie the main ribbon around the rest.

On the inside of my card I used two Ai phrases...
and

I stamped the balloon image several times so I could add dimensional layers.

Here's a close up of my bow and hot air balloon.

Happy Birthday! Let your dreams take flight!

I have been wanting to use this vintage balloon from Sugar Creek Hollow for quite some time.  I needed a birthday card and went digging through my sentiments to see what might go well with it.  I came across this cute phrase from House Mouse when I was digging out a HM stamp for my niece's card.  Let your dreams take flight.  It's such a pretty phrase.  It also gave me a chance to use my new Spellbinder's cloud dies.  Aren't these the cutest thing ever?!  I used this card as my sample to apply to the Party Time Tuesday's challenge blog so keep your fingers crossed for me!

Card makings:
Hot air balloon: Sugar Creek Hollow
sentiment: Stampabilities
Fiskars border punch
Spellbinders cloud dies
Stickles
Ribbon
