CASE That Card Winter Birthday from Art Impressions

Hello Ai fans!
Today I'm sharing my card for the CASE That Card challenge here on the Art Impressions Challenge Blog. I've chosen to imitate a card from Penny Black.

I fell in love with this card the second I saw it and I knew that I wanted to try something like it. Art Impressions to the rescue! I will link all of the Ai products I used at the bottom of the page.

This was my Mother-in-law's late January birthday card. She used to live in the north like me but hasn't been able to get back here for several years. Last time she was here she loved watching the birds at our feeders. I know she doesn't miss the cold but she misses seeing the pretty snow.

In addition to the Tombow markers listed below I also used the following colors from Marvy.
1 Black
12 Grey
32 Laurel Green
38 Oyster Grey

Warmest Wishes from Art Impressions

 Hello Ai fans!

I'm starting out by sharing a winter card today.
Christmas may be over but we still have LOTS of winter ahead where I live and I know some people like to create Christmas cards all year round. It's never too early to start adding to your Christmas stash for December 2025!

My first card used

All of the colors that I used are at the end of my InLinkz at the bottom of the page.

My next project was something put together to do with one of the 5th grade classes that I work with.
I thought a little snowglobe ornament would be fun for them. They tend to be a very "lively" class but they really focused on this and did a great job. One girl added a deer silhouette with hoof prints, several kids added smoke and some made the chimney brick or added Aurora Borealis to the background. They were so creative.

I used colored pencils for my sample since I knew that's what they'd be coloring with.

My third project is my second attempt at making a Matchbook resembling the 5950 - Christmas Town MBE which quickly sold out. Don't despair. You can create something similar using current Art Impressions products. I think it might have been Caly Person who said she initially mistook the easel die that holds the MB up, for a snowbank. I decided to use it that way with the snowman.

You can see my MB with the official Christmas Village set HERE.
You can find my other "knock off" version HERE.

My final project is two bookmarks.
I have two coworkers who are avid readers. I had a bunch of scraps laying around from other projects and decided to whip these up. They would have come together really quickly except that I decided to add text which took time to cut and glue.

I hope your 2025 is off to a crafty start!

See you next Tuesday with my Craft Time is Golden card.

My Top 10 Art Impressions projects of 2024

2024 is quickly coming to a close and I have my Top 10 favorite projects for the year.

It's never easy to narrow the list down because all of the Art Impressions stamps and dies are so wonderful! This is what I finally settled on in no particular order. I hope you enjoyed them.

Here's hoping 2025 brings you everything you're hoping for!
I can't wait to begin a new year with Ai and I can't wait to see what you create.

Teeny little MB Village card and Hummingbird Retirement and Christmas cards

Hello Ai fans!

A couple of weeks ago, Art Impressions paired with Simon Says Stamp to release an exclusive Christmas Village Matchbook set.

Not everyone who wanted one was lucky enough to get one before they sold out.

I've done my best to recreate that village with my own spin, using only currently available products from Art Impressions. That way, if you want to create something similar to the sold out set, you can.

I hope you like it. It's not exactly the same but it's similar and cute in its own right.

My card is for the current Teeny Tiny challenge.
Enter your small, handmade creation for the chance to win a free stamp set.

Today I want to show you that even if you missed out on the Exclusive set, you can still create something similar with current Art Impressions products.

All of the products I used to create this Christmas Matchbook Village are linked below.

I stamped a couple of different options and decided what I wanted to cut out. I used the MB Template as a guide when deciding which buildings I wanted to include.

I created my own tabs to pop up the little pieces.
The side tabs were just glued to the buildings behind them.

This is what it looks like all folded up. Super tiny and super cute.
What a way to present a card.

I have some other cards to show you today as well.
A coworker is retiring on Dec. 20th and our Parent Group at school is giving her some wine glasses with etched hummingbirds on them, among other things. It's her favorite bird. They asked me to make a card to go in the gift basket.

I rarely watercolor but I didn't feel that I could create the delicate look that I wanted for the little bird with my Copic markers. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I created a second, similar card using a Christmas sentiment and paper.

These aren't TEENY tiny but they are 3"x 3", so still small. The hummingbird is a tiny bird though so I still think it qualifies!

I hope you're all having a wonderful holiday season so far.

This was my MB made with the real 5950 - Christmas Town MBE.

Elaborate Thank You card

This card was a labor of love and a tremendous undertaking. I wanted it to be really special though. At the end of August, we went to Florida to visit family members. I wanted to make sure I thanked them properly for their hospitality. They chauffeured us all around through terrible traffic, visited places they've been a million times and treated us to wonderful meals. My card represents all of the things we saw and did together with little hidden inside messages. The little ants and fruit represent some of Salvador Dali's paintings because we visited his museum. The aquatic life is from the Florida Aquarium. The birds and foliage are from the Sunken Gardens. The turtle is because my husband and brother-in-law rescued two while we were there. The signpost shows most of the places we visited and the Bigfoot? Well, that's just because my BIL likes him and my husband watched a Bigfoot movie on the plane ride.

The front panel has around 5 layers to it. There is a sheet of acetate and some of the fish and creatures are behind the sheet and some are popped up on top of it. I just love how dimensional it is.

Here you can kind of see just how many layers deep it is.

I didn't keep track of how many different companies products I used but it was a LOT!! I used things that I probably haven't used in 15 years.

I just freehanded Bigfoot to be a big hairy mess...lol! The little turtle is a retired freebie from Art Impressions.

It's fun to repurpose your stamps too. This parrot is really a the Freebie Cockatiel from Art Impressions. I didn't ink his little crown to make him look like the Macaws that we saw. The flamingos are from Kim Hein's (Art Impressions) exclusive Flamingo set. 5751 Let's Fla-Mingle Set.

I forgot to take a photo before writing my personal message so I blocked that out.
