WInter Critters from Art Impressions!

 Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing a card that used several different sets from Art Impressions.

5346 – Birdhouse Cubbies Set
5179 – Autumn Owl Cubbies
5100 – Woodland Tree Cubbies
4874 – WC Bunnies Set
5016 – WC Mini Critter Set
5353 – Large Snowflake Dies
5351 – Chubby Snowmen Set

My house is set back in the woods and I love all the nature I get to see.  This is a typical day in my yard if you add a random flock of turkeys and the occasional bear!

I made two versions...the one above with glitter glue for the snow and the one below where I used white glitter paper and a very old Sizzix snow/sand die.

Aren't the delicate snowflakes beautiful?
I love the new large snowflake die set.

The fun thing about nature's critters and winter is you can always tell who's been to visit overnight when you find their tracks in the snow the next day.

My son used to see a barn owl flying outside his window for years.
And the squirrels and chipmunks??  Well, they consider it their life's mission to drive my dogs crazy!

I hope you love all of these sweet little animals as much as I do!

The Raven...a birthday card from Sugar Creek Hollow & Mom!

This may seem a little odd to make a birthday card for a 12 year old boy out of Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven poem but my son will go nuts over this tomorrow!  He just started middle school and his 6th grade ELA teacher read this poem to the class.  He's been talking about it for a week now and doing research on Poe on line.  When I sat down to think about how I would make his card this year I instantly thought of how SUGAR CREEK HOLLOW'S Curly Crow would be perfect with this poem.  The Raven plaque is a vintage photo that I found on line and cropped.  I printed the poem on DP for the background.  Notice the really cool thing that you can do with the digital stamps you get from SCH...the crow on the front is the same crow that I have on the tree inside.  You can make them any size that you want!!  I really think he's going to love this because it's uniquely made for him.  Tomorrow my little guy turns 12.  The only problem is he's not so little anymore.  Every time I go to look for my sneakers or flip flops they're gone....and I have BIG feet.  Mom loves you Dominick!!!  Happy Birthday!!!

Don't forget to check back here tomorrow for the Christmas Blog Hop from SUGAR CREEK HOLLOW.  We will be having a secret phrase game and one lucky winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to the Sugar Creek Hollow shoppe.  There are so many beautiful new images available for the holiday season.  You'll be so inspired by what the design team has put together.  See you tomorrow!

Happy House Warming

Some friends of ours just moved into a new house and they had a party this past weekend. I made a couple of tags to put on some bottles that I took for them. One is a wine bottle tag and I tried to make the house on it look a little like theirs. For the most part the house is paper pieced. The letters, tree, fence and grass are made with Sizzix dies. The bird is a Stampin' Up stamp. The curtain inside the window is from Art Impressions. The shingles were done with the Stampin' Up Slit Punch . The wood grain on the white picket fence was done with the Cornish Heritage Farms Weathered Wood backgrounder. I topped it off with a Cuttlebug folder and a scalloped circle done with my Spellbinder's nestabilities. I also got them a bottle of BBQ sauce. We had told them about our favorite wings which believe it or not come from a small little local grocery store. You can get an assortment of sauces on the side. My favorite is one called Sweet and Sassy. On a recent grocery outing to a different store I came across a sauce that tastes identical to that one. It turned out to be my friend's favorite as well so I got her that as a joke. I thought the Art Impressions rooster was cute idea for the tag since the sauce goes on chicken. Anyways... the party was a lot of fun.
