Hey everyone!  Welcome to this month's 

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.

My card features a wonderful digital image

from Priscillastyles called Man With.

In addition to the sketch we have a little

extra challenge; use at least one button.

This image is so perfect for Father's Day or 

for a man's birthday.

Here's the sketch I followed which shows you that

you can turn what looks like a feminine sketch into

something for a man.

For my card I turned the sketch on its side.
I've used Priscilla's wonderful new "Catching Snowflakes"
on my card.

I've used many fun tools on my card.

The biggest snowflake is from Spellbinders.

The lower right snowflake is a Sizzix cut-n-emboss die.

The rest are various punches. The swirl is from

My Favorite Things. I got my flat back pearls at

Pizazz Aplenty.

The adorable pom pom on her hat was made by my daughter.

You'll never guess how...she was sitting in my craft room with

me but wasn't in the mood to craft.  She grabbed a scrap of curling 

ribbon off the floor and started shredding it.  Next thing she knew

she had a pile of fuzz that she thought would look good on the 

girl's hat.  I think she was right!

I had SO MUCH FUN with this sketch!!  It helped that I had such a fabulous image to use!
My card features Priscillastyles 'Man With' which is a set of 5 for a fantastic deal!!
This set is perfect for Father's Day, Valentine's Day, Birthday...anytime you need a 
masculine image.

My dad is a contractor so I was very excited to find a new masculine stack that included 
the tape measure paper that I've used here.  I like it so much that I bought both the 12x12 and the 
matte stack.  It's called Tattered Time by DCWV. 

I plan to give my dad a gift card from Lowes Home Improvement Center as his gift
so I made a coordinating gift card holder out of a "recycled" wallet case that my 
husband's new wallet came in.  I just can't throw anything away!

Although my dad and I "create" very different things I like to think that
I got some of my creativity from him.  My mother loved to sketch in H.S. but never 
pursued it (unfortunately) any further than that.  I guess I get it from both sides.
For my birthday my dad made me a beautiful keepsake box.  His father carves and
his mother used to needlepoint so I guess it was inevitable that one of my parent's
kids would wind up being some sort of artist.  I'm glad it was me!

Sugar Creek Hollow shaped card challenge with PRISCILLASTYLES!!

Welcome to Sugar Creek Hollow and another Sensational Saturday.  This week we are challenging you to make SHAPED CARDS.  Now everyone will tell you a square or a rectangle is a shape and they are correct but we want you to stretch your creativity and to try making cards in lots of other shapes.  We want to remind you that we are a vintage, shabby chic or primitive inspired challenge blog so lets see your shaped cards in one of those styles.  And one other reminder - our challenges go live on Saturday morning at 8:00 am EST so please do not link to a post prior to that day and time.

The Design Team has created some wonderful cards for your inspiration using images from "priscillastyles" Store. I have used 'Potting Flowers", which can be found in the store here.  As soon as I saw which image I

would be using I knew that for my "shape" I would make a flower pot!

 To make the flowers for the pot I enlarged the flowers from the original image

and trimmed around them to make them fit the shape I wanted on top of the pot.

The leaves were made with Spellbinders and BossKuts dies.  I inked the edges and bent

some of them up to give them dimension.

 Here's are some close ups of the beautiful stamp.

I colored the image with Copic markers and then added some crystals

and stickles for some sparkle.

Here is my card for this week's Sketch and don't forget to check the challenge blog

I just love this sunflower!  I just wanted a single flower for this card due to the saying.
I have sung that song to my daughter since she was a baby and I wanted the sunflower to
look like the sun.  I do want to try printing them in different sizes in the future and layering
them.  I think they'd look great like that.
This was such a fun sketch!
It gave me a chance to use some of my Pizzazz-Aplenty rhinestones.
