Some sketches...
Hello and happy Monday!
I thought I'd share some sketches I did last week. Some of the kids at school were talking about drawing and asked me if I liked to draw. Of course I said I like to doodle now and then. I had a couple requests...Now I have a list a mile long from the kids! I'll accommodate when I can.

Money sketch
I don't have a card to share but I do have an old sketch.
As much as I LOVED all of my art classes I've taken I've never
really cared for painting or sculpting. My one true love was always
sketching. Put a simple #2 in my hand and give me something to draw
and I was in my glory. One of my favorite things to do was to dump out my
purse and draw whatever struck me in the moment.
I guess on this day it was my money.

Here's a close up of the $1 bill.

Sorry for the absense
I know I haven't posted anything new in a few days. It's not that I haven't been busy but I just can't show you what I've been up to yet. I hope you won't mind looking at what I used to do WAY back when I was in high school. I don't sketch like this anymore but I do occasionally draw with my daughter. When we moved two years ago I ditched my portfolio. I never looked at my artwork and it was just taking up space. I did keep my sketchbook though. One day in study hall I sat down with a newspaper and did my best to copy it word for word. I'll try to be back tomorrow with a new card since I know that's why you're here. It's a cutie that I made for my niece.

Hockey drawings
In honor of the Olympic hockey game tonight I thought I'd share a few drawings I did back in high school. These guys were all on the local AHL team that we had here at the time. I had season tickets my junior and senior year and used to love going to the games. I think at least one of them went on to the NHL at least for a while. I'm not sure.

Sketch Book drawing #2
I've been swamped lately (so what's new) and haven't had much time to craft. I do have two cards ready to go but they are going to be enteries in a contest so I don't want to post them until I've submitted them. So... you get another sketch from my high school days. It's better than nothing. This is a drawing I did of Louis Armstrong. I just love his voice!

Sketch Book drawing from high school
I'm sorry I don't have a card for you today. I do have something artistic though. My kids are both really into sketching right now. (they're 9 1/2 & 11) They asked to see my old sketch book and I had a lot of fun going through it with them. I thought I'd share some drawings from them on occasion. They will all be from my junior year of high school in 1987-88. I used to prefer sketching with a very sharp regular old #2 pencil. They've become slightly smudged in the last 20 years but have held up fairly well.
