Sweet Window Shaker Card using RRR

Hello crafty friends and Happy Friday to you all! DT Member Cheryl here today sharing this darling Raggedy Sweetheart Window Shaker card I made for Really Reasonable Ribbon. On my card today I used Lots of Delicate Satin Ribbon, Scor-tape, flower and foam tabs.

I ended up using lots of random flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon, some of them are open roses 15mm, 10mm, I used gardenia white, and cosmo daisy white, I used a chrysanthemum in pink, and mini sweetheart blossoms.

Really Reasonable Ribbon Supplies Used:

other supplies used are / svg, MS punch, window die, sewing machine, hot glue, swirl die, shaker pieces, white paint pen for dots, inks for svgs.

I love making the window shakers, using craft plastic sheets, foam roll, or foam tabs cut. Shaker pieces, and the window die. These are so fun to make. I did do a hidden tag in the pocket behind the window. Delicate satin ribbon makes for super easy and fun bows that hold their shape. Love this!

I hope you enjoyed my card for today, and thank you so very much for stopping by! Hugs to all, Cheryl

Put on Your Easter Bonnet

Kathy Clement, Really Reasonable Ribbon, Easel Card, Shaker Card, Easter

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Do you remember Easter Bonnets?  I do!  Especially those mean little elastic strings that snapped under your chin to hold the Easter bonnet in place.  Well, today's card features a mighty cute Easter bonnet and a Light Blue Chevron Twill bow that doesn't cause any pain at all!

Sometimes, wide ribbon can be difficult to work with.  But this 3/4 Chevron Stripe Twill is soft and supple, and it ties a beautiful bow! Really Reasonable Ribbon has it in loads of colors. And if you're not a fan of wide ribbon, it comes in 1/4" width, too. I've paired it up with my favorite Iridescent Metallic String on the cover of this 6x6 shaker easel card.

Here's a peek at the inside of this cute card.  I created a pocket that doubles as a stopper for the easel mechanism.  Then I used my envelope punch board to make a cute Easter egg envelope to hold all the goodies I tucked inside.

Do you have a great Easter Bonnet story?  We'd love to hear about it in the comment section below.

Thanks for stopping by!

Jingle Bells and Reindeer Shaker Card

Really Reasonable Ribbon November Ribbon Club Assortment by Kathy Clement

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Are you all decorated for Christmas yet?  Today's Jingle Bells and Reindeer Shaker card would look really cute on your mantel nestled amidst some holiday greenery!  This sweet, simple card has lots of texture, thanks to the border treatment.  This is one of my favorite ways to use printed ribbon like this Joy Sherry Satin from the November Ribbon Club Assortment.

Use Scor-Tape to layer Joy Sherry Satin over Tan Delicate Stitched Satin for a quick and easy detail that really catches the eye.

Now dress the card up even more with a lovely bow cluster tied with the Merry Christmas Satin ribbon and a little Ivory Burlap String.

Easter Chicks Shaker Card

Easter Chicks Shaker Card by Kathy Clement Photo 01

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Have you had a chance to play with the gorgeous March Ribbon Club Assortment yet?  Oooh la la!  These ribbons just burst with the promise of springtime!  I've used them to create this cute Easter Chicks Shaker Card.

Delicate Stitched Satin is one of my all time favorites.  It is so easy to tie a perfect bow with this soft and supple ribbon! Hot Pink Delicate Stitched Satin Bows add a lovely pop of color to this pastel card.  They also help to draw the eye to my little Mason Jar Shaker  embellishment.  Topped with Iridescent Metallic String and pretty pink flowers, it's a bow cluster worthy of the Easter Bunny.

You can add extra color, pattern and texture to any card by creating a ribbon border.  This is one of my favorite sneaky tricks!  Simply attach Lemon Diamond Satin Ribbon to the card panel with 1/2" Scor-Tape.  Let the ends hang over the sides of the panel so you can wrap the ribbon around to the back.  This leaves a neat and tidy edge.  Then repeat this process with the Multi Print Butterfly Ribbon , but this time use 1/4" Scor-Tape.

I love the changing of the seasons.  It's so lovely to transition from winter colors and patterns to the light and cheery colors of spring.  Maybe we can encourage the flowers to bloom as we play with our pretty springtime Ribbon Club Assortment!

Wishing you joy and creativity!

Mad About You Valentine Shaker Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  This Mad Hatter Shaker Valentine is a fun way to let someone know, "Hey, I'm Mad About You!" this Valentine's Day!

Did you notice how the Mad Hatter's black checked trousers are echoed by the 3/8" Black Houndstooth Bow Cluster?  Any time you can repeat a pattern in a card design, you're going to have a win on your hands.

Top that bow with a little Black Baker's Twine to add even more fulness and texture.  I also wrapped it around the stem of the pocket watch shaker element.  Little touches like this add such wonderful detail when you are making a card.

Black Baker's Twine makes it easy to attach this cluster of metal embellishments, too.  Simply loop folded twine through the brad openings on the door plate, then wrap the loose ends back behind the card front.  Then you can also add a key and teacup at the top with a little bow and flower to really dress things up.

Using black ribbon is a great way to "ground" a mix of colors like the ones in this card.  It sort of ties them all together and makes them sing in harmony.  And that, my friends, is always a good thing!

Wishing you all a very Happy Valentine's Day!

kathy

A Bucket Full of Sunshine

Hello, Friends!  Happy Friday! How about we start the weekend off with a bucket full of sunshine?  This 6x6 shaker card features the gorgeous Sunflower Satin Ribbon from the August ribbon Club Assortment.  I've paired it up with my "go to" Natural Burlap String.

Here's a great tip for using up those little "snippets" of ribbon: fold them in half, cut a banner end and tuck them under an element in your card design.  That's what I did under the little tag sentiment on this card.  It draws the eye to an element that might otherwise be overlooked!  I love finding ways to use bits and pieces, don't you?

Here's a peek at the inside of the card.

I can't think of a cheerier way to start the weekend, can you?  Wishing each of you a wonderful weekend with a little crafty time to play with ribbon.

Botanical Joy Fold Shaker Card Folio

Hello, Friends!  Have you had a chance to play with the Sunflower Assortment of Ribbons from the August Club yet?  These bright and bold ribbons are perfect for botanical themed cards and folios like this Joy Fold Shaker Card Folio.

I chose to use the 5/8" Forest Green Plaid, 3/8" Diamond Satin, 3/8" Yellow and Green Argyle Satin and the Random Lines Satin ribbon (which made me think of bamboo.)  These colors and patterns speak strongly of green grass, sunshine, trees and flowers.  And that's what this little joy fold folio is all about.

Forest Green Plaid Ribbon makes a great ribbon closure!  Simply adhere the ribbon with 1/2" Scor-Tape.

Tuck spots, pockets and flip pages make this folio lots of fun to open.  Nature inspired papers and ribbon make it beautiful to behold.

Top a bookmark with an assortment of 3'8" ribbons from the Club.

Tie a square knot to hold this Argyle print tag topper in place.

Here's a look at the folio fully opened.  Create a hidden pocket by adhering just the sides and bottom of the joy fold card to the base.  (Find a tutorial for this style of fancy fold card HERE.)

Score and fold a large ivory tag to create a unique photo insert for the hidden pocket.

I hope I've inspired you to get out your August Ribbon Club and make something beautiful!

Beach Dreams with the July Ribbon Club Assortment

Hello, Friends!  I've been dreaming of the beach:  toes scrunched into warm sand, seagulls coasting on the air currents, beachy breezes blowing through my hair...oh, yes, please!  Since the beach is not a possibility for me right now, I did the next best thing: I dug out my Seashore July Ribbon Club Assortment and created a dreamy beach window card.

Capri Blue Double Faced Satin and Blue Variegated Shell Print Satin play perfectly with the blues in this paper collection.  It feels like a calm day at sea, and that makes my heart happy!

TIP: Attach ribbon to the top of a pocket with Scor-tape to add texture and shimmer to your design.

Tuck an Ivory Burlap String Bow in with your Capri Blue Satin Bow.  This not only adds texture, it helps draw the eye to the floral cluster.

Here's a peek at the inside.  A twisted easel card is designed mostly for display.  But I did manage to create a little pocket inside.  See how pretty that Blue Variegated Shell Print Satin is on the pocket?

Even tiny bits of ribbon can be used to add designer touches to a card.  Looping a bit of ribbon through the top of this metal key really makes it pop.

I hope we all get to dig our toes into the sand soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

Shaker Cards Duo by Cherry Nelson

Hellllllllllllllllo my paper peeps!  Cherry here today to share a couple of shaker cards made with Really Reasonable Ribbon trims, flowers, and stamens.  Bonnie has such a great selection of all those goodies. I have been into pinks and peaches lately.  It is fun to try different color combos, isn't it?  I created these shakers using old Sizzix die frames and then just added some recycled acetate to cover the fronts.  The more foam adhesive you have on back, the deeper your shaker card will be. It creates a reverse shadow box effect and if you know me....I love lots of dimension. That allows the sequins to really be able to move around...which is half the fun.  I am developing quite the collection of different things to add to shaker cards.  Well that is it for me today friends.  Please scroll down for list of RRR supplies.  Stay healthy and safe my friends
                                                               XOXO, Cherry

Sheer Botanical Beauty

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Today I have a sheer botanical beauty of a card to share with you.  If you haven't discovered the gorgeous Variegated Sheer Ribbon in the RRR shop yet, it's time to take a look!  It's become one of my absolute favorite ribbon styles.  Soft and easy to work with, it also has a little bit of shimmer from the iridescent threads that run through it.  It ties a truly bodacious bow, especially when you pair it up with some Iridescent Metallic String!  The color I've used here is the Red/Pink/Ivory combination.  It's the perfect match for the pink and rose hues in this shaker card.

Here's a peek at the inside of this garden themed card.  By adding a 1" spine to my card base, I was able to create a box style pocket on the right and a standard pocket on the left.

Dress up a tea bag, cookies, and chocolate with your designer papers.  Then tuck them into the pockets with a bitty spoon and honey stick to keep them company.

Use a tiny clip to attach a velvet bookmark to the card base.  Now you're ready for the garden party!

I hope I shared some tips for working with ribbon with you today.

Easter Lambs, Bunnies and Chicks Shaker Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Kathy here with a sweet little vintage style Easter shaker card that features the Coral Rose Small Check Plaid ribbon from the April Ribbon Club Collection.   White Iridescent Metallic String adds just the right amount of sparkle and shine to the bow cluster.

This shaker card is also an easel, so it's perfect to add to your Easter Home Decor.

I've added a little pocket, chocolate treat and mini note card to the pocket inside the card.

With all the social distancing going on, I think it's more important than every to surround ourselves with pretty things to help us celebrate this wonderful holiday.  I hope this post has added a little cheer and beauty to your day today.  Stay safe and well!
