Here's My Heart

Really Reasonable Ribbon-Valentines Day, Kathy Clement, Mulberry Flowers, Coral Rose Check Ribbon

Hello, Friends! Here's My Heart just in time for Valentine's Day!  I've loaded this Victorian style wall hanging with so many beautiful mulberry flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon!  Then I tied it all together with lots of feminine 3/8" Coral Rose Check Ribbon.  It's my take on a tussy mussy, and I had so much fun putting it all together!

I dressed up my tussy mussy with:

Beautiful flowers and romantic ribbon make me happy!

Wishing you all a joyful and creative day, friends!

Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

Really Reasonable Ribbon, Simple Stories, Winter Woods, Home Decor, Kathy Clement

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Do you want to build a snowman?  Indoors? With ribbon and paper and all the mixed media goodies?  Snowmen are a guaranteed smile in the middle of winter, so I always like to keep one around the house to cheer me up when it's too chilly to go outside.

Kathy Clement, Really Reasonable Ribbon, Simple Stories, Winter Woods

I dressed this 6 1/2" x 13" wall hanging up with lots of pretty ribbon.  Nile Blue Crosshatch Satin is a perfect color match for the Winter Woods paper collection that I'm working with.  Stitch it across the top of the wall hanging to add a pop of color to the neutral color palette.  Then, layer it over 5/8" White Satin Ribbon with a Grosgrain Edge as a belly band. Use Scor-Tape to hold both ribbon layers firmly in place.

Really Reasonable Ribbon, Kathy Clement,

A White Satin ribbon bow adds the perfect frosty finish to my flower cluster.  It's amazing how much texture and design ribbon adds to a mixed media piece like this one.

I hope you are all staying warm, cozy and healthy this winter!

Thanks for stopping by!

Skating Party!

Stamperia-Sweet Winter-RRR-December Ribbon Club-Winter Carnival-Wall Hanging-Kathy Clement

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Today I have a sweet little winter wall hanging to share with you.  I've dressed it all up with satin ribbons from the Winter Carnival Ribbon Club Assortment.  I hope you'll enjoy this little Skating Party project!

Stamperia-Sweet Winter-Home Decor-Wall Hanging-Really Reasonable Ribbon- Kathy Clement

First I framed my 5x7 mixed media background with the Aqua Sprinkles Satin Ribbon in this month's Ribbon Club Assortment.  You can use Scor-Tape for this, or you can machine stitch as I did here.  Then I layered in some chipboard elements and die cut foliage.  Next I attached it to a little metal hanger and topped it with some Pink Tulips Satin Ribbon, also from the club assortment.

Add a pop of color with a double loop Tropic Delicate Stitched Satin bow.  Delicate Stitched Satin ribbon is one of my "go to" ribbon choices.  It is soft and easy to work with and always ties a beautiful bow.

Winter is a great time to hang out in your crafty space. I hope you're keeping warm and cozy and creative!

Apple Pickin' Time Home Décor Banner

Really Reasonable Ribbon Sherry/Ivory Plaid Ribbon by Kathy Clement

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Oh, it's apple pickin' time, and I could not be happier if I tried! To celebrate, I made an apple themed home décor banner with Really Reasonable Ribbon trims.

Apple Pickin' Home Decor Banner for Really Reasonable Ribbon by Kathy Clement

Each pennant is machine stitched between layers of  Rust Silky Crush Ribbon and Crochet Lace Trim

TIP: Machine stitch along both the top and the bottom edge of the ribbon.  This extra step helps the banner to hang neatly.

Tie Sherry/Ivory Plaid ribbon in square knots between each banner pennant then top with a button.

Natural Burlap String mimics the feel of fall leaves.  Tie little bows with it and tuck it into your flower clusters to add extra texture.

Die cut leaves and velvet flowers add even more layers of texture and dimension to the design.

Do you go apple picking where you live?  We have to drive into the mountains to find apple orchards here.  But growing up in New England, the month of September was apple season.  We all trekked out to the local orchards and picked big bushel baskets filled with rosy red apples.  Mmmm...now I want an apple pie!

Easter Lambs, Bunnies and Chicks Shaker Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Kathy here with a sweet little vintage style Easter shaker card that features the Coral Rose Small Check Plaid ribbon from the April Ribbon Club Collection.   White Iridescent Metallic String adds just the right amount of sparkle and shine to the bow cluster.

This shaker card is also an easel, so it's perfect to add to your Easter Home Decor.

I've added a little pocket, chocolate treat and mini note card to the pocket inside the card.

With all the social distancing going on, I think it's more important than every to surround ourselves with pretty things to help us celebrate this wonderful holiday.  I hope this post has added a little cheer and beauty to your day today.  Stay safe and well!

Beautiful Fall Mixed Media Home Decor

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!   Here we are at the very end of August and I can feel fall peeping around the corner.  After a extra hot and sultry southern summer, I am more than ready to welcome it!

I have so enjoyed working with the ribbons in the August Ribbon Club Assortment.   I had one last fling with them while making this 9" x 11" wall hanging.  The bows on this vintage hanger are tied with Turftan Brown Delicate Stitched Satin and 3/8" Brown/Cream Plaid.  Topped with some vintage buttons from my stash, they provide just the right finishing touch, and a perfect color match for this Prima Autumn Sunset paper collection.

Soon we'll be trading in out flip flops for wooly socks and our petunias for pumpkins.  I love the change of seasons, and since fall is my favorite, I'm especially looking forward to this one.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Christmas Magic Book Box & Tag Set

Hi friends! Well, Christmas is just about upon us and I'm feeling very merry these days! I'm so happy to be able to share with you a project that I enjoyed making so much and it is brimming to the top with Christmas cheer! Linsey here today--I invite you to come along and see all the magic and sweetness this holiday home décor book box holds!
The front cover of my book box is loaded with Red and Ivory Aster Daisy Stems, WOC White Magnolias and White Bead Berry Spray Clusters for sparkle and pizazz! The 5/8" Red Taffeta Ribbon adds decadence and charm to the piece. Some Natural Burlap String tied into a bow and to the buttons lends a bit vintage goodness to the box and ties in beautifully with these darling vintage-style papers to complete the look. I added gold foils around all the edges and a vintage metal keyhole and key, as well as a metal clothespin inscribed with the word "timeless", which I believe is one of the words that describes the true meaning of Christmas.
And now for a look inside. This is the inside of the front cover and it has pocket and tag for writing the title and year. More red taffeta and daisy asters were added because I love them so much!
Lots of tag and pockets for journaling fit inside the book box. Much more could be added as well since there is so much space!
Along the inside base of the box, Debra Natural Crochet Lace trim was added. I think it's a perfect touch of softness for this sweet theme. Arianna Natural Crochet Lace trim was added to a few of the tags as well.
I'm so happy with the results of my book box, I added it to a table amongst my holiday home décor this year! After the holidays, it will serve as a cherished keepsake for years to come!
I hope you've enjoyed my project today! I wish you and yours a very happy and merry holiday season! Whatever you do, be blessed!! Until next time, happy crafting--and happy new year, too!!

Merry & Bright Holiday House

Hi RRR friends! I'm excited to share my latest altered project for the holidays, this sweet little home décor piece that I hope you'll enjoy too! I call it my merry and bright holiday house! Come along and see how ribbons and flowers make everything even more merry and bright!
Different holiday patterned papers was adhered down first, then lots of stickers, chipboard and die cuts were added to each little "room". Some pieces were popped with dimensional foam for a 3D effect. Here's a closer peek inside....
Red Aster Daisy Stems add a touch of realistic beauty to the festive holiday scene. They really elevate a project to the next level.
In my humble opinion, the big bow tied to the top truly makes this piece Without it, it simply wouldn't be as charming or magical. The Delicate Stitched Red Satin Ribbon makes for a very pretty and special bow. I also tied a double bow on the button using Natural Burlap String.
And that's all for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by and allowing me to share my merry and bright holiday house with you! I hope you've been inspired to create something pretty with ribbon for the holidays too!! Until next time, happy holidays and happy crafting!!

Give Thanks Bag

Autumn is in the air!
The days are cooler and the rich autumn colors are painting the landscape.  My thoughts turn toward family time together.  Meals together, lively conversation and cards played around the table.
It's fun and easy to create these Give Thanks Bags to hold silverware for your special get together's or some sweet treats for that special someone.
I used a canvas bag, fabric leaves and beautiful ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The beautiful Moss Cream Plaid Ribbon and Natural Burlap String added a soft fall touch to this bag.

Hope you enjoyed another fun and easy project.

Dressing Up a Candle

Hello ribbon lovers!  It's easy to dress up your plain candle, by using gorgeous ribbon, fabric, flowers and embellishments.
I wrapped canvas fabric around the glass candle holder.  Next, I wrapped and tied a bow with Silky Crush Champagne Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
I then added a few of the White Cottage Roses and tuck in vintage buttons and a wooden bird embellishment.
These candle wraps are so easy to make. Why not make a few to decorate your home or give as a gift.

Rub a Dub Dub Altered Washboard with Ribbon and Flowers

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Kathy here with a quick and easy home decor project.  One of my favorite leisure activities is going junkin'.  I just love searching for vintage items that can be upcycled.  While out shopping with my sister, I found the cutest vintage washboard and you can bet your life that it ended up in my card faster than you can say rub a dub dub!  I dressed it up with some gorgeous Really Reasonable Ribbon, WOC Mulberry Flowers, Burlap String and some paper pretties from Simple Stories new Vintage Blessings Collection.

Because I loved the typography and the engraved bee, I kept all my decorations very simple and on the bottom portion of the washhboard.

This 3/4" Pink Chevron Striped Twill Ribbon is topped with loopy Natural Burlap String Bows and creamy White WOC Magnolia Blossoms.  The 6" x 8" sentiment panel is stitched onto corrugate paper.  I kept the embellies to a minimum, adding just a couple pieces of chipboard, some washi tape, a few buttons from my stash, mini clothespins and the pretty bow clusters.

And speaking of laundry....I can hear my dryer buzzing, so it's time for me to go switch loads. I don't know about you, but I'm awfully thankful that the only use I have for a washboard is as home decor!  Thank God for my washing machine!

Thanks for stopping by!

Steampunk Style Altered Letter

Steampunk Style Altered Letter: "G" is for Gloria

Hello, Friends! I hope you are all enjoying a sunny Saturday morning! I have something a little different and really fun to share with you today.  It's a steampunk style altered letter that makes a great home decor piece and a wonderful personal gift.  Take a look:

G is for Gloria 01

Let me tell you....this was one FUN project to create! I made it for my dear friend Gloria...who had a "landmark" birthday in February. I started with a simple 6" tall white wooden letter...can you believe it? I love the metallic look I was able to create with embossed papers, DecoArt Treasure Chalk Paint, Copper Dazzling Metallic Paint, clear embossing powder, fun embellies and luxurious variegated Copper Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

G is for Gloria 04

Just look at the lustre and shine of this amazing bow! Although this ribbon is fairly thick, it ties beautifully with a little help from the Zutter Bow-it-All! I added a little of my faithful Natural Jute String on top to provide some texture and contrast.

G is for Gloria 07

I just can't get over how this ribbon is the perfect match for the metallic and chalk paints! Once again, the ribbon and trims are the elements that make this steampunk altered letter really special! If you haven't ever made one of these, you should give it a try...but be warned...it's kind of addictive!

Life Is A Beach

Hey Everyone! It's Emily here again from Create Serendipity. Today I have another fun altered project to share!

Have you ever shopped the $ spot at Target? I LOVE shopping there! Not only is everything $1 (or $2.50 for some bigger items), but they are full of really cool trinkets & things for kids as well as fun alterable items! I picked up this little tray there this past Spring. I've been holding on to it, actually, I was using it to hold stickers, but decided it would serve a better purpose as a home decor piece!

I love anything beachy. My whole living room is decorated in a beach theme, so this project fits perfectly! Aren't the little crabs cute?

I decided to make a little banner that said "Beach" and clip it to some jute with some mini clothes pins. Since this tray had handles, I tied the jute to each side and made the banner pop a little for a dimensional effect.

Make sure you stop by my blog for more details!

Magnetic Memo Board

Hey everyone! It's Monday again! Emily here from Create Serendipity to share a fun alterable project!

Recently I was at a thrift store on the lookout for a baking sheet. I didn't want to spend a ton of $ on a brand new one because I thought I might be able to get one cheaper at a thrift shop. Certainly, I did! I don't really know if it's a baking sheet, but it works worked my project!

I had an idea to do a magnetic memo board. These are SO simple to make! Grab a baking sheet and some magnets and let the creativity flow!

The little rosettes have magnets on the back as well as the notepad, so they can all be moved around.

I wanted to add a little photo banner at the top and showcase a few of my own photos.

Thanks for stopping by today! Stop by my blog for more details!
