Oh, Baby

We could not be more excited to be partnering with Tottini, one of our favorite local retailers for small ones, to design and give away a fantastic and virtually complete nursery....all it needs is a little one to call it (cry it?) home.

Tottini provided the gorgeous (and solidly built, I might add, after sliding them around the store) crib and changing table from swoon-inducing interior designer David Netto's Netto Collection. We provided the concept and decorative accessories, including some fantastic pieces from a new line we're carrying, Stray Dog Designs.

Most of their pieces are crafted from some combination of tole and papier-mache, and all are finished with low-VOC paint in shades from Benjamin Moore. They're an interesting company that lives by their values, and it doesn't hurt that their items are, as we say in the South, cute as all get out.

Here's a peek at our inspiration board for the design:

You may notice a number of our other go-to vendors represented in our contributions: Dash & Albert for their high-style, low-cost cotton rug; Mod Green Pod for accent fabric used on the wall art (we envisioned this pattern in wallpaper in the "real" nursery), and Thomas Paul for a quirky linen throw pillow.

And, of course, no nursery worth its salt would be caught without an alabaster stag head gracing its wall.

All pieces featured in the vignette, currently on display at Tottini, will be given away to one lucky winner at the end of September (details to follow). So if you are expecting or know a worthy recipient who is, enter to win at Tottini or Revival Home & Garden prior to the giveaway.

And if you don't win, we'd love for you to drop us a line if your nursery could use a style infusion; we can help!

After all, shouldn't the first room a child sees be a good one?

When Black Friday Falls

Turns out it's more than a classic Steely Dan song, it's also the morose-sounding name for the shopping day after Thanksgiving. (We think Black Friday should fire their branding consultant, BTW...)

With the day quickly approaching, we thought we'd update you on our holiday hours. Beginning the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 28, we will be open from 11-7, Wednesday through Saturday; Sundays we remain open from 12-5. We'll keep up these extended shopping hours through the end of the year, in the hope that it will help to make the season bright.

To further ease your holiday pain, we are also happy to offer free holiday gift wrap for all purchases...except for perhaps the Porter's Chair.

Additionally, you, gentle reader, are cordially invited to our first-ever (yes, we weren't open last year but just go with it) after-hours holiday shopping extravaganza! Saturday, December 6, from 6 - 9 p.m., we are hosting an invitation-only shopping event featuring warm cocktails, festive treats, and an even more festive 10% discount on all purchases. Consider yourself invited!

Stop by to snatch up a big batch of just-arrived gift items for all those hard-to-shop-for folks on your list....and maybe pick up a little something for yourself, too. (You deserve it. You work hard.)

Hope to see you then!

Just Hatched

As a born-and-raised Nashvillian and longtime Hatch Show Print owner, I have always been a supporter of this amazing and storied print shop in Country Music USA.... In fact, it runs in the blood: my dad used to work there as a teenager and make posters for his band on the sly. Hmmm.... maybe he was the original maverick.

But I digress. Many of you graphic design afficionados are familiar with Hatch's incredible woodblock prints they've been crafting for decades, and we in Seattle have a wonderful opportunity to view many specimens up close at the Experience Music Project until July 16, 2009.

Read more about it here.

At the shop we have several of our favorite restrikes on sale in custom Plexiglass frames. Come take one home and create a permanent exhibit of your very own.

Post-Domino Post

We had such a great time at our recent soiree to celebrate all things Domino (well, mainly just two things: their new decorating book and our inclusion in the just-released November issue) that we wanted to share a few images that capture the evening beautifully. (Special thanks to our friend and photgrapher extraordinnaire Liz Ophoven for the fabulous pics.)

Thanks as well to the team at the Adventure School for their awesome balloons and "domino effect" window theme. Check out their incredible Web site...makes me want to jet off on safari.

Party Buzz

Thanks to our lovely friend and fellow decor lover Allison, creator and author of the indispenable NW Source blog called "Minding the Shop," for the recent piece on our upcoming Domino-themed bash.

While you are all most likely sick of me talking it up, and perhaps about Domino in general, we're in the home stretch.... And if you come to the party, I promise not to mention the "D" word for at least the amount of time it takes to receive the next issue. Scout's honor.

On a side note, how much do I want to live in that house? Thiiiiiiiiiiis much. Could I at least have the front door? (Image courtesy of, yes, Domino)

Oh-h-h, Domino

Mark your calendars... Saturday, October 18, we are celebrating big-time. Firstly, we're marking the publication of the first-ever decorating book from our favorite magazine, "Domino." We'll have dozens of copies of the book on hand for purchase, and we're cooking up some sort of fabulous giveaway to commemorate the event.

Secondly, and--in our little world, more importantly--we are rejoicing in our inclusion in said favorite magazine's forthcoming Seattle shopping guide, penned by the lovely Rita Konig, whom we had the pleasure of spending a day with a few months ago. The guide will appear in the November issue, but we're working on getting a stack of advanced copies to distribute at the soiree.

Good food? Check. Good music? Check. Fawncy alcoholic beverages? Check. Amazing items for you and yours, for holiday or every day? Check.

Hold the date, and we'll keep you posted on all the details. Stay tuned...

Model Customers

Wanted to post a few pics of the lovely ladies who served as models at last month's hit event we liked to call "Style Revival." It was a fabulous night of shopping, eating, and drinking, all to support Team Diane's efforts in preparing for the Seattle 3 Day.

Shop for the Cure

I am all aflutter about an event we're hosting Saturday, May 10, here at the store. Together with petaline.net (a fabulous online clothing & accessories boutique representing Northwest designers) we are putting on an informal (definite emphasis on *informal*) fashion and jewelry trunk show.

The best part? Ten percent of all sales (including Revival products) will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, in honor of our friends on Team Diane participating in the upcoming 3-Day Walk. (Read more about Team Diane here: http://08.the3day.org/site/TR/Walk/SeattleEvent?team_id=41541&pg=team&fr_id=1189&et=QHKEUL0aj05WCxV_MxXs0Q..&s_tafId=6130)

We'll be featuring designs from local favorites Out of Line, Suzabelle, Sabrina Love handbags, Grace Gow jewelry, and others. Surf on over to http://www.petaline.net/ for a sneak peek. Hope to see you all there.
