Master Boards

I made a master Board, this is a really cool way of making your own back grounds to use over and over, for mine i used an A4 piece of linen card stock, inks paint gesso and stamps.

I basically stamped the inks all over the card in different colours and blended them in, then i added some paint here and there and used gesso in places. when it was dry i stamped some images all over the card which were mainly Paper Artsy. with a cherrie pie and a stampin up sanded stamp. i also used a lid from a bottle to make the circles when it was all dry i put it in my scanner and print off a copy and scanned it into my comp as well. I'm keeping the original maybe to use on something or just for back up here's the original.

I cut up the photo copy to make the cards and Atc's below. the nice thing about master boards is you will get a different background depending how you cut it. Im defiantly going to be making more.

Here's the master Board

For this card i cut up a piece of the master board and mounted it on to purple card, stuck it to a pink square card blank. printed the image (one of my favourites) and cut it out and stuck it on to the card, i used a white gel pen around the edge of the image and smudged it with my fingers this gives a nice edge and a bit of depth. Then i stamped the life friend stamp studio G i think.

For this card i cut some more master board and stuck it to lilac card on a square card blank. cut out 6 inches from the master board added the image's and words and stuck these on an Atc card blank then mounted that on to lilac card stock then stuck that to the card.

for these ATC's i covered 2 Atc blanks with paper from the master board cut out the images and used the gel pen around the image as in the previous card. on the first one i stamped the her majesty and the little cushion and crown and on the second one just added a little flower in her hair.

Arty Girlz challenge #4 Glueless

I cant believe we are at challenge 4 already with Arty Girlz just want to say thank you to every one that has joined in so far and for sharing your Amazing work with us.

Fot this challenge i made 3 waxed ATC's using house hold candles and a travel iron,
all i did was tear the images and attach them to my Atc blank by dripping the wax over the image and just repeated and when done buffed witha cloth i reall like the effect you get as the images go translusant. Although my photo is a bit dark and you cant really see they are better in real life Honest LOL,

If anyone could tell me the proper technique for bees wax i would be greatful , i have herd of people using this technique but not sure with the who's whats when and how 's in other word i dont have a clue.

ATC Ramble

This is a series of 4 Atc's that i made called the greats.
Todays random word is ATC: ARTIST TRADING CARD

Today i fancy having a ramble about ATC's seeing as i love them so much.

So where did the ATC originate from, as we know it, well way back in 1987/8 a Swiss performance artist Vanci stirnemann was a claragy for the Olympic arts festival. He met a group of Canadian adults that were into collecting trading cards (base ball and such likes) he had only ever seen children collecting cards in Europe the idea that adults could care so much about these little rectangles of card intrigued him.

Almost 10 years later in about 1996 stirnemann hit upon the idea to create his own trading cards-hand made and original.

In April 1997 almost a 1000 of stirnemanns artist trading cards were put on display in a gallery in Zurich, Switzerland.

The exhibition was a huge success and people wanted to buy some of his art cards.

However he decided that he didn't think it was right to sell them as he had originally been inspired by the people that collected trading cards, so he announced that anyone who wanted one of his art cards could make there own and trade with him.

Two weeks after Stirnemanns trading card exhibition had finished an ARTIST TRADING CARD session was set up in the gallery, people were invited to come to make and trade cards. Since then the the ATC sessions have been taking place every month.

Then of course the craft would discovered these little wonders and voila the Atc as us crafters know it

THE GUIDE LINES

There are only 2 rules for the ATC the must measure 2.5x3.5 and never sold only traded.

Originals..... These are one off' original ATC's ( making them unique)

Editions..... These are sets of cards that are identical these should be numbered on the back IE if you were making a set of 5 1/5 , 2/5, 3/5 , and so on

Series..... These are Atc's that are made on a similar theme/technique but are different these should also be numbered,

Sets..... Atc's can be made in sets of different numbers, such as threes, fours etc, where the set makes a piece of art work.
