Nails Inc.: Chelsea Embankment Garden with Venique: Crushed Icicle
Pastel yellow and baby pink hexagons, bar glitter and flower glitter and a bit of baby blue flower glitter. Venique is a blue textured glitter

Nails Inc.’s “Chelsea Embankment Garden” is a glitter topper with bar glitter, hexagons and flower shaped glitter mostly in super pastel yellow and baby pink but also a bit of baby blue. I decided to layer it over a blue polish from Venique, “Crushed Icicle”. I have had “Crushed Icicle” for 8 years and I have only ever used it for nail art!

“Crushed Icicle” has evaporated a bit over the years and I needed to thin it before I actually applied it. The formula was good after the thinner had been added, and the polish was easy to apply. The first coat dried pretty fast and the second coat took a wee bit longer.

I applied one layer of the glitter over it. I did fish the flower glitters out of the bottle and placed them by the base of the nails.

This is the end result, including a layer of topcoat. The photo is taken in daylight on a rainy day.

I think pastel yellow looks cool over the blue.

And here it is, finally alone: Venique’s “Crushed Icicle”. Look how pretty it is!

I like both these two polishes, but Venique the most. I think it’s such a nice blue.

Number of coats: 1 over a base colour
Drying time: Good
Finish: Glitter
Overall impression: This glitter topper requires fishing of the flower glitters. It’s quite dense too

Essence: Mermaid Tales
Sea green shimmer

Today I'm wearing a gorgeous green shimmer from Essence. The formula is good but a teeny bit sheer. I ended up using three coats to achieve desired opacity. You can get away with two coats if you don't mind a little bit of visible nail line. The drying time is really good.

I made a purple brush stroke on each nail with Venique's "San Tro Play". I framed the purple with a no name glitter from Cosmetic Arts.

This is the final result including a layer of topcoat.
