Today I dropped off some new stock to a store on Granville Island....like these glass necklaces:
...and these game piece necklaces:
...and these scrabble tile earrings:
The store is called "Make", and it's filled with tons of great "things". I never leave without buying a little treasure of some sort.
Here's another peek at my items in the store:
I've still been very busy at the local farmers markets, and enjoying the fresh, fresh produce too! Every week the market is bursting with new, colourful, fresh, gorgeous fruits and veggies. Oh the smell of fresh tomatoes and basil is to die for!
Last weekend I bought a bunch of berries and turned them into (an amazing!) mixed berry crisp. YUM!

More Market Photo's
Here's some snapshots from the weekend's Farmer's markets...
A bowl of my recycled glass cube necklaces.
A selection of my recycled scrabble tile earrings.
My table.
My table.
Still loving my bird card holder!
Check out this canine Canucks fan! This dog was a patient, mellow fellow.

Mismatched
This Saturday (tomorrow), I'll be at the Trout Lake Farmer's Market again. I've been super busy over the last two weeks making new stock.....so there will be tons of new "stuff" tomorrow!
....like these baseball themed Rummikub tiles. I've turned these ones into key chains. I just love the colours of these vintage images. Father's Day is coming up...
I've also made a ton of new glass necklaces.
My 4 year old likes to dress herself now (while her 7 year old brother has no interest in picking out his own clothes, and couldn't care less what he was wearing).
Sometimes things come out a little mismatched!
We are happy, happy, happy about the lush greenery popping up!
I'm a hairstylist.....you'd think that I'd find some time to cut my own family's hair!

Snapshots Of The Trout Lake Farmer's Market
Today was the season opener for the Vancouver Farmer's Markets! When I went to bed last night, there was an 80% chance of rain....but we were lucky, and the rain stayed away!

Head out to the Farmers Market for the Perfect Thanksgiving Feast
Although I was officially finished with the farmers markets for this year, I was able to add one more date - tomorrow at Trout Lake. It's the PERFECT weekend to head out to the market to get all your delicious fresh goodies for your Thanksgiving dinner! Make sure you wear your hat and raincoat though! Rain or shine, the market is always a fun, vibrant outing!
Maybe you'll need to buy some sugar pumpkins....

....for the pumpkin pie!

Or maybe you'll need to buy some crisp apples to munch on, or.....

...for an Apple pie (my favourite!).

Or some potatoes for that perfect mashed potato side dish, all ready to be smothered in gravy! I always make "Sour Cream Refrigerator Mashed Potatoes"

Or some fresh yams!

Also at the market this month:
Produce: Apples, Artichokes, Arugula, Asian Greens, Beans, Beets, Blackberries, Blueberries, Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Celery, Chard, Collard Greens, Corn, Cranberries, Cucumbers, Daikon, Fresh Herbs, Fennel, Garlic, Kale, Leeks, Lettuce, Melons, Mustard Greens, Nectarines, Green Onions, Red/Yellow Onions, Snap Peas, Pears, Peppers, Plums, Potatoes, Radishes, Raspberries, Rhubarb, Shallots, Spinach, Squash - Winter, Strawberries, Tomatoes, Turnips, Zucchini
Protein and Dairy: Eggs, Goat & Cow's Milk Cheese, Beef, Chicken, Lamb, Halibut, Pork, Sablefish, Salmon, Shrimp, Cod, Tuna

Farmers Market Recap
My laaaaaast Summer Farmers Market was yesterday! The tent can be put away for another year.....no time for rest though. Those Winter fairs are just around the corner!
I discovered the BEST preserves EVER yesterday at the market from "Wild Westcoast Rainforest Products". This Wild Blackberry Pepper Jelly is absolutely amazing. Seriously. I've never had preserves as good as hers! The Blackberry Rose Jelly was pretty delicious too!....and get this - her last name is "Canning"!....and her dentist's last name is "Smiley"!

I bought some fresh cheese at the market too, and enjoyed them on some crunchy crackers.

These Earthgirl soaps are also pretty great!

I meant to buy some of these coffee soaps, but I got too busy to drop by.

Purebread - "Unique handmade breads"......I don't even have words to describe their baked goods. If you see them at the market, you have to buy something....anything from them! You'll know what I mean!

This time of year is the best for farm veggies. All the stalls are bursting with fresh and colourful fruits and veggies. You should see the garlic....and smell the basil.....and the tomatoes.....

The markets run until October 23rd....if you live near a market, be sure to drop by!
Also - mark your calendars! The Vancouver Farmers Markets - HOLIDAY market will be on Saturday (only) - December 11
10am - 6pm, at the Croatian Cultural Centre, 3250 Commercial Drive. I plan on doing most of my Christmas shopping at this market!

The Last Days of Summer
Whew! I've been away from the blog for a little while - it's been a whirlwind around here. The first weeks of school have been an adjustment for all - a happy one (for all) too! This year I have 3 mornings a week without kids!
Here's a photo from the Kitsilano Farmers Market yesterday. We had a forecast of a 98% chance of rain.....ALL DAY, but magically the clouds parted, and even a little bit of sun poked through the clouds - we were so, so lucky!
I've had many requests for earrings over the past year, and every week I promise that "I'll get right on them"...and another week passes without the earrings. Finally I focused and made some earrings! The tags that they're on are stained with coffee and vanilla (they smelled really, really good!). Notice the broken plate necklaces? They're another pretty, re-purposed addition to the table.

Right now the local farms are bursting with beautiful fruit and veggies. Oh the apples!....and peaches, and potatoes, and squash, and corn.......

Here's a fall selection of cuff links.

These are made on glass tiles.

Remember all those button stacks? I turned most of them into hair pins, and some of the bigger stacks are being turned into brooches. These look GREAT in your hair!

Now I'm working on some custom orders, and some rings, and some other types of earrings. I rarely wear earrings myself....although I have enough piercings for many pairs! September's artdolls need to be started too! "Witch's Hats" here I come!
