I Do Wednesday - Save The Dates.

At the moment I am currently lost amongst the save the dates! ours is a long way off being even made or thought of, but there are some really CUTE ones swimming about pintrest! Here are some that have caught my eye...and inspiring the look and feel of our own save the dates

the artist in me loves the little modern silhouetted figures and the text, this was definitely a fave.

this was a collection I found on pintrest, that made me smile, I think the photographic way is the way Im leaning, but I change my mind on a whim, I love the ground posing ones the best...they have made me smile every time I see them done!

This one set my heart a flutter, getting their save the dates printed onto vintage hankies! so so beautiful, would be a huge task to accomplish, but what a beautiful whimsy touch this one was. I could only dream of doing something that sweet and unique.

pop ups!!! who doesn't love a little old fashioned pop up, this was adorable! loved the vintage feel to it.

and last on my list...some beautiful little character drawings, this almost had me trying to draw john and in character form!
so many creative and wonderful ideas!
I shall have to sit and think about it, now my mind is bursting with ideas!
have a Beautiful Wednesday

I do Wednesday - My fortnightly Wedding Post.

Hi there!
I thought is was time I started sharing my ideas and inspirations for my Winter wedding next year. Yes yes I am very EARLY but with a small budget and big ideas, I need to hash our how I'm going to make a beautiful wedding happen, on such a small amount of money! So every fortnight I will be posting a Wedding entry...who doesn't love a wedding right?

John and I, only picked colours like a week ago, and this was after I was frantically picking colours all over the place, from reds to mustards, purples and vintage blue, before I knew it I was drowning under a rainbow of colour combinations. I needed my husband to be to step in and calm blue ocean me!
We decided that Green and Grey would be our theme. Peridot green and grey, more to the point.

I am loving the idea of my Bridesmaids wedding lovely grey dresses with a pop of colour in their
shoes.

the artist in me would love to sport these under my wedding dress, but I think both mothers would be mortified heheh.

So that is where my head is at the moment, next post will be about our engagement party invites, which I am currently working away on myself to save money! I just needed the colours first before I could create anything! So you will get to see how they turn out, and how I used our colour combo to make it work.

I hope you enjoyed the first wedding post, there is a lot to cover! enjoy your day

Inspiration Tuesday - Floral Fondness.

Colour colour colour!
I have been going nuts over colour lately, and this addiction has seeped into my wedding board on pintrest! so whats inspiring me today...is bright floral arrangements that I'm swooning over.
Maybe one of them will end up being my colour theme who knows!

just look at it! all the rich bright colours, the reds the deep purples, and that pop of green!

the purples and greens in this make my heart sing, and the touches of peacock feathers is just devinte...I am really loving that deep purple...its a big contender.
and speaking of shades of purple...
now that I have them all together, they look very similar....
and they are colours I use inside my art journal a lot..says so much about myself as an artist! What colours are making you inspired at the moment?

maybe I will take the colours in this post and create a journal page based around it for Friday pages..who knows..all I know is, my floral bouquet is going to be very bright and very rich with colour...

have a great Tuesday guys

Merry Elfmas!!

Well!!!! after a beautiful email from a reader, she was worried that I suddenly stopped blogging back in October. And yes, it is true, after the move we were offline for about two weeks, then things just got hectic.

Before we knew it, it was time to get on a plane and fly to Brisbane, and watch two of my nearest and dearest friends get married.
the boy and I got all dressed up to party the night away with them, was such a stunning wedding and my darling girlfriend looked like a princess. We got back to sydney, kept unpacking (since we still have things to unpack and my poor studio is a chaotic mess)
One thing I did embark on was December Daily...so while my mum was still here, (she was our babysitter for the weekend wedding getaway) she helped me put together my book as I wasnt smart enough to pre order the beautiful kit by Ali Edwards.
Aswell as keeping up with the december daily, my family started a new tradition this year, I thought since we have brought traditions into our faimly from both sides - his and mine, I thought we should start creating some of our own. So we bought on the sly - The Elf on the Shelf. She arrived a few days before the first of december, so mum and I gave her a little make over with a cute skirt and a knitted scarf.
I have been taking notes, and pinning ideas, to get us through the 24 days, having the elf do crazy things to make my little teacup humans giddy every morning. It takes a little effort but it is so worth it, the kids lose their minds in the morning, when they find out what Ellie the Elf has done.
On day one...the boy and I set up the dining room with all our christmas things, tablecloth, plates, decorations, u name it, as a welcome elf breakfast, we had pancakes and strawberries, and the kids got some elf treats.
she came with a book, which we read to the little ones, and John and I also bought a key, so that she can always get into the house after her flight to the north pole every night.
Ellie has been caught...hanging decorations...and getting stuck

taking joy rides on the deer decorations
and evening inviting Rudolf over to play!

all while I've been capturing it down in my December daily...

I still have some tricks up my sleeve...and I will make sure to take the time to blog about them, so that you guys can see the crazy fun this little house is having in the lead up to chrstimas!
Because we think...
Enjoy your Thursday!
xoxo Love Courtney
