Just Us Girls #212 - Photo Inspiration

JUGS 212 photo JUGS212picA.jpg

Welcome to another inspiration challenge at Just Us Girls.  I have been a bit remiss in the use of my beloved maple leaf and leaf dies, so it was time to use a wonderful, fall inspiration picture to facilitate their use.  Fall colours and leaves just make me happy -- one of my simple pleasures :)

I paired this week's challenge with one of this month's VLV sketches as that large circle was calling my name. Lots of wonderful fall coloured papers and three leaf dies - I am one happy lady LOL!

The rest of the  JUGS team, have some wonderful samples to get your inspiration going, so head on over to the Just Us Girls blog, and check out what the Design Team has created.  Then put your creative genes to work and add your card/project to the challenge post on the JUGS blog for the chance to be chosen as the Chic of the Week.  Plus if you are chosen as Chic of the Week, you could be invited to be a Guest Designer.

I'm also sneaking this card into the Tuesday Trigger challenge.  Love the bucket of leaves.  My colours are a bit off, but leaves is the theme so I jumped on it.

Have a fabulous weekend, and I'll be back on Monday with my round or square Mojo Monday card - can you guess which I'll most likely be making wink, wink!

Tuesday Trigger

Tuesday Trigger

This week's Tuesday Trigger over at the Moxie Fab blog was a fun one so I decided to play along.  Just love the colour combo and the felt, rolled flowers were such a great idea for a wreath theme.

I decided to make some rolled roses in various sizes as per the inspiration picture, and then placed them them around the edge of a round card in an attempt to mimic the wreath.  Used Verve's Lean On Me set as I just love the mix of fonts and how the sentiments just pop because of the big bold word in them.

The sunshine has finally returned again so we are all happy campers here.  A bit nippy, but I'll take it!  Provides a good chance to clean up the flower beds etc. for the winter, and of course, rake more maple leaves off the grass.

Have a fabulous day, and as the card says, know you are special :)  Your visits and comments always encourage me.

Moxie Mojo

2012 Faves

Love round or square week over at the Mojo Monday blog because I love making round cards and it is always a great excuse to make one as the sketch is provided :)

I used this week's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger with the sketch as it had such a wonderful mix of colours to work with which ever so easily enabled me to make yet another Valentine's Day/Love card.  I layered my card as per the layers in the chocolate and embossed the kraft panel for a nugget feel.  Pulled in the doily from the picture with the PIT die and the striped ribbon I found a Mike's a few years ago was a perfect match as it had all the colours from the inspiration picture.

Think I'll give this to my daughter for Valentine's Day.  I am so proud of her.  She got straight A's in her first semester of high school and that was no easy feat as she had four academic courses (Socials, English, Math and Science) and worked really, really hard in all of her classes.  In addition, she did very well on her Grade 3 piano exam last Friday!  We had great fun celebrating her successes by going on a shopping spree at Old Navy :)   To top things off, we didn't have to pay a dime for all the clothes we got as our purchases were fully funded by gift cards, coupons and a discount card - that's my kind of shopping!  Our cashier called us extreme couponers.  Must say it is almost as fun as getting new stamping supplies LOL!
