Cute little Zoo Babies

Happy weekend!  Hope you're enjoying your day, wherever you are. I'm excited that I got a chance to play in my craft room this morning.  Ever since Leadership, I've wanted to play more with the Fringe Scissors and the Scallop Tag Topper punch.  Plus, I got the Zoo Babies set that I haven't gotten to use, so I thought these cute little animals would be perfect for some fun and quick tags.  What do you think?  Here's a closer look at each one.
The giraffe is the longest tag of the three. I started with a 4" x 2" piece of Whisper White and then punched out the top.  Then, I stamped the giraffe in Pumpkin Pie.  To create the fringe for all the cards, I started with a 2"x 12" piece of the Polka Dot Parade DSP in Daffodil Delight.  Then I used the fringe scissors to cut about an inch into the paper and did that for the length of the 2"x12 strip.  That way, it was just faster to cut each piece down to 2" wide and put it at the bottom of my tags.
For the elephant tag, I started out with a 3 1/2" x 2" piece of Whisper White.  The elephant is stamped in Smokey Slate. I had fun doing the ribbons for each of these tags.  While the striped basic gray grosgrain I used for the elephant tag is retired, the other ribbons I used are in the current catalog - Daffodil Delight stitched grosgrain ribbon, Marina Mist Chevron ribbon, and the Natural Chevron ribbon (from the Occasions catalog)
The lion tag is the shortest tag, with my starting piece at 3" x 2."  I stamped the lion in Daffodil Delight and the sentiment in Marina Mist.  I used the Regals Designer buttons on all the cards and secured them with the Linen Thread. These tags were really fun to put together and super easy, too!
I have to say that the Fringe Scissors and the Scallop Tag Topper punch are 2 of my faves from the Occasions catalog.  I'm not gonna lie though, I have LOTS of faves from the Occasions catalog. It's definitely worth checking out!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Retro Baby Shower ensemble for UStamp With Dawn and Friends

Hi all - Happy Sunday!  I've got a peek of my 2nd project for the Big Shot Brilliance issue at UStamp With Dawn and Friends that's currently going on now.  I had fun putting this together and using non conventional baby shower colors!  What do you think?  You can get all the deets and instructions for my projects plus a bunch more in this fun Big Shot Brilliance issue.

As you guys know or probably can tell by my projects, I use the Big Shot to create many of my projects, whether it be die cutting, or dry embossing, it is a key component or tool in my crafting toolbox!  Anyway, hope you guys like this little sneak :)

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!  It's a beautiful day here in CA, so I'm gonna take advantage of it and get my quick run on :)

Ciao for now!

polka dotted baby buggy

Hey blog friends!  Happy Thursday to you.  Hope you guys are having a great week so far.  Today, I'm sharing a card I created for a cousin's upcoming shower.  This little baby buggy was created from my die cut scraps from the petal cone!  They were the 2 half scallop circles left over from my valentine pouch project.  Isn't that so fun?  Makes me love the petal cone die THAT much more!  Here's another look:
I also had fun using my Cogs Extra Large Punch for the very first time to create my wheel centers.  I punched it out of the First Edition DSP paper, then layered it on top of a 1" circle punch and secured it with the Filigree Flower and Brad.  For the buggy, I added just a teenie bit of Pink Pirouette trim with the Dotted Scallop Border.  And for the handle, I used theSwirls Scribbles sizzlit.  Isn't that cool?  The swirl was just the right size and worked out perfectly!
For the final touches, I added the sweet little flowers from the Itty Bitty Punches and topped them off with Basic Pearls.  The stamped sentiment is from the Something To Celebrate Hostess set from the Occasions Mini, which has quickly become one of my favorite sentiment sets!  How about the recipe for you?
{Polka Dot Baby Buggy Congrats}

happy new baby {challenge card!}

Hey there blog peeps!  How are you all?  Today, I've got a card share for you that's doing triple duty!  First, it covers one of my swap cards this month, which is a baby theme.  Then of course, I had to get my challenge fix, so my inspiration came from the Taylored Expressions card sketch and the Embellish label color challenge.  Here's a look at the sketch and colors (it's actually my second card for the Embellish challenge!)

I have to say that I love the color palette for the Embellish challenge.  The colors are so pretty together.  Hence, my inspiration to do another card in this scheme!  And, how fun is the Taylored Expressions sketch!  Here's a look at my full card for you:

I used the Smooch Spray and the Presto Papers DSP to create my grid background and found that the finished paper looked so pretty!  It's hard to tell in the picture, but the Smooch Spray gives the paper a shimmery look to it.  All you need to do is spray the paper 2-3 times, then take a sponge and spread the smooch spray all over the DSP.  The color I used was Log Cabin.  At first I thought it was going to be really dark, but it's got a chocolate-coppery look to it.  Very cool!  For my circles, I used the Circle Bigz die for the white piece with the stroller image, then I used my Circle cutter for the mat.  The scallop circle is from the Scallop Circle #2 die.  Another thing I discovered in making this card is that the stroller image on the scallop circle would make a perfect sized tag, too!  Here's the recipe for you:

Top Note Baby Girl Card!

I was so excited to hear that one of my dear friends gave birth to a baby girl this week! This friend is a former roommate of mine from post-college days and now lives out of state so I don't get to see her often. Here's a card I made for her little one. The picture is a little darker than I'd like, so apologies for that. I think I need to tweak some of my camera settings!

I had so much fun making it because I got to use the Texturz plates again on both the top note die and the pink pirouette cardstock layered behind it. How cute is that eyelet border punch, too! Lots of fun elements..down to the Button Bouquet flower with the Pretties pearl center. What fun! I hope she likes it...it's going in the mail today!
