Karate Kid

Claudia_Rosa_Karate Kid_2

Hi ladies… sorry i have to make it ultra short today. Picked up my son from sports camp and he is crying so much… his ear got infected from the cold he got over Easter. Ever since he had that blood coming out of his ears, he has trouble with it. Poor baby.

Reaching for the stars… we find our greatest self

Hello, once again i hope to surprise you today with a Penny Black image :-) i have had this cute stamps for like 2 years on my wish list. I don’t know there is something so very sweet and innocent about it. Yes, there are bunnies in the image but i have tried to use papers so it would not just be suitable for Easter.
Claudia_Rosa_Penny Black_Reaching for Stars_1

Using this sentiment also helped a lot to make this card a lot longer usable than just for Easter.

This card is purchased from my very sweet friend Becky L. . I would like to use this opportunity to wave “hi” to Rosa A. too :-) Becky’s co-worker. I know both of them are reading my blog.  So nice who you meet so many kind people through this hobby.
Talk to you later Becky and Rosa :-) Thank you so much for everything!!

Stamps: Penny Black “ Reaching for the stars
Sentiment: Verve Visual
Papers: Pigon
Tools: Grand Spellbinders (Cricles / scallopes circles), Stampin up  (oval punches), Magnolia border die and flower die, Quick-kuts for corners
Coloring: Copic Sketch
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts

PS. i do have the Grand Calibur to use with my Grand Spellbinders but honestly.. if you have the Big Shot – you should be fine for the beginning. You can use the first 3 rings of your circles perfectly fine with your “old” machine.

you might want to check out Sir Stampalots clearance sale.. i just spied some Nesties that i do not have and they are on sale :-) maybe you find something there that' is still missing in your own collection.

I am a wanderer…

Hello… thanks for taking some time to see me at my blog xoxox
Did i surprise you :-)

Yes, a Penny Black image … I have always loved those cute images. In fact i think like most of us i have started to stamp “cute” with this brand. Back than i used mostly the cats… now aim in love with the cute bears the line has. So i got a couple of stamps from Sir Stampalot. This one is called “Nature Trail Ted” and is from 2010. Sometimes Penny Black does retire images.
Claudia_Rosa_Penny Black_Teddy w. daisy_2
There were actually quite a few paper pads i loved with this image – i think picking one took me yesterday the longest. I went with My Minds Eye Stella Rose “Hattie”.
Claudia_Rosa_Penny Black_Teddy w. daisy
what i absolutely like about those images is that you really do not need to pay attention on where shadows fall or where your light source is… i mean if you look at the picture Penny Black prints on top of the wood block.. If you put the shadows  in consideration , does not make sense at all. I think the images are GREAT for stamp beginners or for those “quick” no brainer coloring times. You really can not do anything “wrong” on those images. I believe cards like that are just going to look artsy.
Claudia_Rosa_Penny Black_Teddy w. daisy_1
The card was worked using a great sketch over on Cute Card Thursday. Oh yes.. before i forget colors
B0000, BG 000, 01, W3, 4 YG91, 95, , G85, E50, 33, 34, 47, Y21, 32, 38, B39, 34, some colors of C for the white areas

James

Hi there… have you survived Thanksgiving with all the yummy food and shopping chaos? OMG!!! It was crazy here… but i must say we did good with our scores for the boy’s Christmas presents and Niklas birthday present. So happy i have some things off my checklist.
Even I got spoiled yesterday :-) i got a new long down winter coat at Macys.

Wow… every time i have not made a card in like 3 days i feel like kind of blank in my head and i  have a hard time getting started. Gee… total addiction i would call that.
My card for the Friday Sketcher was a rather quick one too. The image was colored in for quite a while, all i did was getting the card ready using Jeanette’s sweet sketch for this week and stick the embellishments on. Oh well.. hopefully creativity will strike me next week tremendously.

Harvest ~ ssnotime166 - Well Preserved & Friday Sketcher

Hello, today i would love to invite you to participate in 2 fun challenges.
First off… my submission for the Simply Stamp Ribbon store. This week we are at challenge No #166 - ssnotime166 - Well Preserved!
- Is anyone out there still canning, or freezing or drying your summer harvest?  Or is anyone preparing those previously preserved goodies for Thanksgiving or Christmas gifts?  Today is all about preserving our fruits of the harvest.  Take this food related theme wherever it brings you -- use food type stamps, papers or embellishments on a card, decorate a jar of canned goods, or even wrap and decorate a chocolate bar -- we're easy!  Let's just see some lovely fruits, veggies or any type of edible in today's creations!!!

Remember use ssnotime166 when uploading your project to Splitcoast :-) so we all can find your work.

I used this opportunity to ink up my new Just Rite set “A Day In The Country” and decorated a scented candle jar and created a matching card using the sketch on the Friday Sketcher blog.

Most supplies used to alter any jar like this can be found over at Sharon’s store: Just Rite set (currently there is a sale 25% off selected stamps)
chocolate striped ribbon, Spellbinder pendant, Spellbinder Label Ten, Scor Tape to hold the ribbon secure in place, Bow Easy, everything can be found right here
others: Magnolia Doohickey tag, flowers (Wild Orchid Crafts)

The papers are new Basic Grey “Curio” 6x6 papers, individual paper pads can be found here. I love the homespun feel of the patterns.
Others:
Spellbinder Label Ten, Martha Stewart border punch  ~ ribbons are chocolate wrinkle ribbon over some twill ribbon from Simply Ribbon Store

Just for you ~ Matchbox with Just Rite

Hi there… hope you have a great day. Wow… seams Niklas finally is getting better, i had the a full night sleep since Friday. Pewwwhhhh…
First he got the stomach flue at the same time with the regular flue and than 2 hours after we came home from the doctor he got a ear infection. Poor little guy.
Today’s challenge over on “Cute Card Thursday” has been changed and we want you to be able to submit ANYTHING you like :-) isn’t this great? Just easy now before the busy holiday time.

I slowly start to alter some things to make my presents look prettier. I must say i am a very bad gift wrapper :-) My box is from the dollar store and i have now matches for a very, very long time :-) but what can you do? I really like those big boxes.

Claudia_Rosa_Just Rite_Just for you_MatchBox_2
The image is from Just Rite’s “Vintage Christmas” set available through The Simply Stamp Ribbon Store”, as well as the gorgeous crinkled ribbons. Those ribbons are very, very different from the ones you can alter yourself. They are kind of flimsy… the ones Sharon has have a nice texture – kind of if there is starch on them, this way they bind beautifully and they stay “puffy” on the loops. Some of the flowers are by Prima, they are also from Sharon’s store. I got the white ones and just made them look old by sponging Vintage photo on them. To make the seam between the matchbox and Design Paper disappear even more i used Ranger Distress Crackle paint and once it crackled i sponged over it again with Vintage photo (picture does not show – i did that afterwards)
Other supplies: Papers used are Kaiser Kraft “Dear Santa Collection”
Please Email Sharon at ssj@up.net to order, including state/zip OR country.

Here is a little sneak peek what this little gift box is hosting :-) there is a handmade bracelet from me and some nice beauty items from Lancome – my favorite brand! I hope my friend will love and enjoy something else than just stamp related things.

Stamp Simply Blog Hop

Hello and good morning. I am very honored to be part of this months blog hop for
Sharon Johnson’sSimply Stamp and Ribbons”.
If you do no not know Sharon… i would like to tell you a little bit about her. She is and has been my stamping idol for years, even prior to blogging. I think i have told you many times, that do get inspiration for my cute artwork from non-cute stamper… and Sharon is one of them.
SSRSNov2blogbannerpic
Sharon also has a ribbon store with a fabulous selection of May Arts silk ribbons, laces and twine you name it .  Sharon also has some paper pads (Websters Pages, Cosmo Cricket, K&Company), some stamps and provides great card making kits – I have used on my card and project the Simply Santa kit. Which contains the brand new Websters Pages Christmas 6x6 pad paired with “ Backyard Birds” stamp from JustRite. I love the kit.. there is no time consuming search for matching colors in my ribbons… everything is already ready to go. I have stored all the items in a clear box and I am ready for the next card.
Claudia_Rosa_SSRS_3_Nov_Bloghop
Each month the Stamp Simply Blog Hop has a Blog Candy offering!  Today's offering is a selection of red and white ribbon with a value of well over $50.00, so maybe keep this in mind for December, January and so on :-).  For a chance to win, just leave comments on all Blogs participating.  This will be a Mystery Candy, meaning we don't know from which Blog the winner will be selected, so leaving comments on ALL blogs gives you the best chance of winning.  The winner will be selected on Friday night, 11/5/10, at 6 p.m. EST.  The winner will be announced sometime on Saturday.
Claudia_Rosa_SSRS_1_Nov_Bloghop
I created a 5.5 x 5.5 card using the Christmas kit (Sparkler and ribbons) and with some some scraps of the green paper i decorated two small acetate boxes. I think the Webster’s pages are just so delish – i could not waste a single piece. I used those to make a belly band for the 2 acetate boxes – seam is hidden behind the focal point image. The boxes open and close like a book and sandwiched in between is a little Christmas note – this also keeps the boxes stay in place.  About 90% of my Christmas mail is going to be shipped to Europe. I love to add little lightweight gifts to the parcels. Michaels sells some Prima flowers, but they come in glass jars. It is hard to post those into a flat rate envelope, but a zip lock bag does look rather unattractive.
So this is my solution. Just a nice gift for your friend.
Claudia_Rosa_SSRS_2_Nov_Bloghop
I hope you liked the idea and you can find inspiration for your own twist on your creation.

Get Well Wishes

Hello, i hope you have a great day today. Well.. i stumbled over this cute paper while i was looking for some matching colors to one of my Magnolia cards. In the back of this block (K&Company ~ 4.75x6.75 Ancestry) was this beautiful caramel with vintage red roses paper and i was totally drawn to it. I thought it can not hurt to make a fall card for the Friday Sketcher blog. Tanja provided for us a sketch for this week. Since i had this sketch in my mind already sort of figured out – i wanted the label 10 first than layered with a standard oval i had to find a matching image. This one is by Bilderama and you can find it in the sale section, check it out.. Cute Stamps and Cards has the brand new Fall images already in the store.

Hopefully you will play along and post your own creation on the Friday Sketcher blog The fabulous Sassy Sketcher girls who have made a card for this week are: Aud, Bea, Inge, Carole, Jacque, Janneke, Jeanette & Tanja

A Simple Thank You

Hello my friends, thank you for swinging by.
I'm sorry for the bad quality of my pictures. I have started to look for a photo tent. Currently i am taking my pictures on a piece of card board in my porch, but the light is so bad. The first pic was taken while the card is laying flat on the board and in the second i used an additional daylight lamp.
The card is small only 5.5 x 5.5 the challenge on Cute Card Thursday this week is no patterned papers. So i used on my card just textures achieved with Bazzill Bling Cardstock and shimmer paper. It was a bit of a finger play with all the cut outs but i think it’s maybe something to keep in mind for some special thank you notes were we have to produce several of and do not have enough of the same paper. This layout would make a nice set of cards.

Happy Birthday Teddy

Hello, how are you today?
Today i used a image kind of unusual for my regular cards :-) I loved the sketch that our very talented Caz provided for Cute Card Thursday this week. It gave me the option to use a bigger image and quite honestly i was soooo late with my card. I totally forgot it was already Wednesday yesterday.. in my mind i thought it was Tuesday. Oh my.. the cute Penny Black image was really colored in so fast and when i showed the card to my 6 year old.. he really loved it. Made me definitely happy and i am sure i am going to make more Penny Black cards in the future. In fact i started “cute” stamping WITH those images.
Claudia_Rosa_Penny Black_Birthday Wishes_re
Most of the supplies can all be found at Cute Stamps and Cards.
The newest Penny Black this one is called “Teddy’s Party”
Papers are by Basic Grey, this one is called “Cupcake” it is a older line and i got it once from Jacque!
Coloring with Copic Sketch…. it is just so fast and simple to color with them.
Ribbons by Stampin up and lace from stash.

Whimsical Wishes

Whoohooo…. my keyboard is working again :-) too funny.. sometimes i does not connect to the computer so i was getting fustrated and told my husband that he need to return that thing back to the store. Anyhow.. so yesterday morning it made trouble again and i did it all what hubby told me on the phone to do – restart the computer, plugging out that chip and taking out the batteries. Turns out.. i put the batteries the wrong way back in and than after restarting the computer it did not work because of my fault :-). Guess what that meant.. good point for my husband to have a reason to keep that board grrrrrr
Bild_Whimsical Wishes_1
Last week i got some new stamps from Cute Stamps and Cards. The store has already the new Bildmarlana Summer Collection stamps in. They are once again super cute. Now i was able to actually figure out the names… this cutie is called “Mimosa” The other character i love a lot is called “Tossa”. She looks so cute with her frizzy hair :-)
I still had some scraps of my lovely “Cottage” Design papers left and the pattern matched nicely with the roses on the dress.
The paper doily is distressed and spritzed with Tattered Angles mist. The sentiment is a image given to me by Carole.

Hi girls, thank you for swinging by :-)
Can you believe it.. my son has already an other day off school … they had a short week after Spring Break. The master plan was to take them to the Zoo.. but now it looks like it is going to rain today. Oh well…

Joy

Today’s card i have made for our Challenge over on Cute Card Thursday the theme for this week is “Ribbon-Tastic”.
How fun is that? You have to check out what the Design Team came up with.
For my card i used some of my super sparkly ribbon pieces i got from Carole. OMG.. i got that ribbon in 3 different colors – it is soooo cute.
Joy_1_re
I hope my photo at the top shows a bit that i have cut the koetje image once out and raised with some dimensional off the card.
Since i had no matching “baby-ish” Design Paper to combine with the yellow paper – i just used a cuttlebug embossing folder (Devine Swirls) and embossed a piece of grey paper. My Gosh.. i remember using the embossing folders way more than i do now.
This card is only 5.5 x 5.5 inches in size. I felt this worked best for the size of the stamp and my design with the ribbons.

Happy Spring

Hello and a wonderful start into your day. Hopefully my card cheers you up a bit. I am ready for Spring.. it is my favorite time of the year.
But here in Michigan we still have to wait quite a long time for the first flowers – just got yesterday more snow.
What do you think about this cute stamp “Koetje with butterfly” stamp? Again it was a surprise stamp i got in my DT package from Cute Stamps and Cards and i was really thrilled to see it. If you can, you should take a minute to browse all those cute images that Nellie Snellen has.. there are like 3 different sections of lines. How cute can this one be for a all Baby cards? No babies for us in sight, that’s why i made a Spring card :-)
