Time to reflect and DIY project

Hi there today I would love to show you a little notebook. I stamped with heart Tilda and Magnolia’s “Love corner” with Vintage photo and colored the image in with Prismacolor pencils. It does look so simple but honestly this kind of technique takes me so long. (there is an awesome article in one of the older Magnolia Ink magazine written by the very talented Chris Dark!!) For me the process of coloring this image was a healing one. I just had found out that day (Valentines Day) that a family member of mine passed away. I had lots of time to reflect. Simple, but this little book means a lot to me.

I added some Stickles around the edge of the book and added some lace and bakers twine to the spine. I kept one end of the twine longer to add a heart charm to it – it can be used as a book mark. Also used is a small red button and pearls.

Anyhow.. life must go on, Niklas needed the day after Valentines birthday card for his teacher and I totally forgot all about it. In the morning I quickly stamped the large Magnolia butterfly on some paper and had him color in with some pastels. He added some wind (black swirls Smile a cloud and his own smilie face). At first he did not even wanted to make the card but once he had one for his teacher after school he told me “SHE REALLY Liked my card” he was happy. I think this butterfly is really quite cute to have for kids crafts, the large areas make it easy for the little ones to color in.

Claudia_Rosa_Niklas Butterfly

since I was not able to blog last week I wanted to share the little project I made with my kids – we have to make each year about 50+ Valentines to be exact 58 this year. I have tons of broken Crayola crayons. This year I soaked all those broken pieces we collect each year in warm water, let the kids peel off all the wrappers, I took off the little pieces.

photo-2

added them all into a silicone tray – I have seen nice small ones (my hearts are quite big and needed lots of crayons) at Michaels and Target for just $1 and put them on low heat for about 10 minutes in the oven. They all melt nicely and came easily out of the form after I cooled them for about 10 minutes outside.

Here is a close up shot of the finished gifts– I let the kids added into each baggie some chocolate and a crayon heart and I tied with ribbon close. I stamped the sentiments and had the kids punch out the matting and had them write their names to the back of the tag . Next time I would maybe add a nice sentiment for the crayon… like “You color my world” or so … I just ran out of time with making almost 60 of these in time for Valentines day.

Be My Valentine

Hi there.. Thank you for your visit and also “Thank you” for those of you who left me a comment on my photos from yesterday. It was fun to read who else shares the same interests Smile. I wished I had a few ladies here I could meet up at a local cafĂ© to knit and help each other with patterns Smile. I really, really would like to know how to knit socks. I guess I have to take class to learn how to make those.

I (heart) you ~ goodie bag

Claudia_Rosa_ppbag_1

Hi there… when I got my new Magnolia stamps…I was thinking how I could use this cute Tilda with her hand stretched out, like she is dancing for joy. There are quite a few things I thought could work.. Smile not sharing right now, for today I like to show you the quickest and easiest.
I stamped "I Love You” onto a separate piece of paper, coloured, cut out and adhered it with foam spaces to the main image so it would look Tilda is carrying the words. Its just so much faster than using the Stamp positioner.

Claudia_Rosa_ppbag_3

As you can tell I am absolutely in love with the new Magnolia Design papers. They are really gorgeous. Once again I went with the bright pink and black kind. I will use the others once Valentines is over, I already have a few sorted out and matched up to go onto a project.

Claudia_Rosa_ppbag_2

Since the focal point image got rather large (it would have fit onto a 6x6)  and I did want to show off the papers, I decorated a paper bag.

Love Struck–Post sign

Hello friends today i would like to show something i have made for Sir Stampalot.
I hope it will arrive shortly in the UK.  I get all my Magnolia design papers at Sir Stamplot, so I wanted to use on my project things you can find in the shop too.

Claudia_Rosa_Love Struck_2
I purchased last year around Valentines Day 3 of those Mini Hangers you see in my photo. I altered for last years Valentines Magnolia Ink already one to be used as a girls clothe hanger.

This time I am using the hanger to function as a sign holder.

Claudia_Rosa_Love Struck_3

The sign is 6x6 and I used images from the newest  Magnolia Valentines Collection 2013. Above you can see cut little Bonnie Tilda as Amor and on the bottom photo is Tilda with dot bow teasing her.

Here is a shot of the sign  hanging off a shelf  my craft room. Environmental photos turn never nice out for me – I hope you get the idea Smile

Red, Green, Yellow and Blue... I love you

Hello there... how are you?

I do enjoy recently to work on some altered things. I used to make those kind of things in my earlier blogging times so often but i stopped.. i don't know why but i guess one reason is that those things are just harder to take a nice photo off than a card. Plus sometimes i don't know who to give the things to :-)

I made this little tin as part of Angie's Christmas gift. I got the tin at TJMax including like 10 cards with envelopes (Tim Holtz) on clearance. I only purchased the cards because of the tin :-) Inside the tin i added 2 layers of Niklas crayons. I wrapped each set of coloured crayons like yellows, greens and blues with a string of hem and wrote on a little tag the colour ending in the last set of colours with "I love you". Hope this makes sense :-) ?

Simple and quick enough to to make a set for a nice teacher for Valentines Day?

Sentiment: Computer generated

Punch: Martha Stewart

2 Peas awhh.. kitten in a pod

Hello ladies…
I am still trying to catch up with the season appropriate cards. This is the first year I feel I am dragging behind. The “master plan” for 2013 is that I make at least 1 Christmas card per month throughout the year. geezzz…. I have gotten all those lovely Magnolia stamps and barely had a chance to use those.
Anyhow.. time for those Valentines cards… this period to make those kind of cards is way to short anyways. I found this animal printed paper in a Basic Grey pad (black dress) and I never used any of the papers… but the print of this sheet was nice and small and spiced up with just some pinks it turned out really cute with this new kitten stamp from Lili of the Valley.

Breast Cancer Awareness

Claudia_Rosa_breast cancer_2

Hi, have you had a chance to check Just Magnolia Challenge today?
The team has made some samples for this weeks challenge to use “Dies/Die cuts and pearls”
I took a break from Just Magnolia after my trip to Germany to be able to just focus on the DT cards I had to make for the shops I design for, I am super excited to be able to join the girls again. I want to use the challenges to get some gifts done for Christmas. Well… obviously this is not a Christmas gift but since October is just around the corner and it is breast cancer awareness… I thought it would be a good reason to find some of my older stamps and use them.

Claudia_Rosa_breast cancer_1

This Tilda was released in 2008 along with a few really nice sentiments in a Collection just dedicated for Breast Cancer – a portion of a purchase made from those stamps is being donated to Breast Cancer Awareness. I could not believe it when I saw on my box (I labeled back than everything) that it was 2008 Smile it seamed like yesterday and boy.. look at Tilda’s face.. she sure has changed a lot in the last years. I remember back than this Tilda was the first one that came out with super curly hair that would work very nicely for short curly black hair coloring.

Claudia_Rosa_breast cancer_3

As for my supplies I used:
The pink glitter door hanger I found around Valentines day for 1.99 at Michaels Smile it came with the tiny pink ribbon bow and the brown scroll letter “N” on it. Since I placed Tilda between the lines, it almost looks like she is sitting between 2 pillars. I removed the panel and the ribbon bow with my exacto knife, sponged, distressed and layered the scroll paper. The hinge came also from Michaels and it was shiny gold, I colored that with 2 very dark Copic Sketch markers to match my vintage key, which I have found in the $1 bin at Michaels. The felt bird is a die cut also picked up at the $1 bin around Spring time.
Other Supplies: Stampin up wide pink ribbon, assorted pearl stickers, Stickles, pink button, brown bakers twine, Copic Sketch, Prisma color pencils, Kraft cardstock, Copic Express Cardstock, gauze, Super Tacky Glue,
Stamps: cross-legged Tilda ,
Sentiment: Cure, Strength & Hope

Ulala!

Claudia_Rosa_Sending Love_1
Sexy-Hexi as we would say in German Smile
This little lady definitely has some sexiness about her, don’t you think?
I think she is really great to use with some Spanish sentiments maybe, Prom queen cards, for New Years cards, Homecoming cards and so on. I have had this card base already a year a go made, so I just colored the image in and added some embellishments. Just a quicker way to get a card done to post while we are gone. I think if I had started that card from scratch I would have used her for a New Years card…
