Hiding something ?

hello ladies,

do you sometimes also go a little overboard when you see something in your favorite craft store on sale or clearance?

Well I do… I don’t know how many of these little wooden boxes I picked up maybe a couple years ago at Michaels found in the $1 bin marked down to 50 cents.  Ever since I had to drag them around in my craft room pewh..

Back then I made a few boxes to give Christmas gifts away, this time I made one for Valentines. This time around I just painted the entire box with white Gesso and embossed with Frantage. So much easier and less mess than spritzing them with Tattered Angles Glitter spray. The black elastic band the box came with was replaced with a (NEW daaahhh of course ) white hair elastic I had in my vanity. The box turned out pretty cute and vintage. I did sent this box to Sweden including some yummy chocolates.

Brrrrrr

Hello sweets,

back with a card I have made for my friend Heidi along with a quick knitted gift for Christmas. I want to show it on my blog before it gets too late since we are already thinking “Valentine” and Spring, right? Not here in Michigan… some of you might now… we have gotten severe weather conditions and I am grateful to have a home and a roof over my head for sure.

Heidi_3

Heidi has blonde hair and I thought this pale color would look so pretty on her. The yarn is Madeline tosh Pashmina – which is already VERY luxurious, but I have also added for the extra cute effect a second strand of Rowan Kid Silk Haze yarn. It does look very dreamy and I hope she enjoys it.

Pattern is a simple one, since I was late with my gift for her and I needed this to be done within 2 days.

Heidi

Here is a little detail shot of the sentiment

hugs and kisses

Hello, today I have a new card I would like to share with you. I got an email today from the lovely Sara,  who kindly agreed to exchange cards with me, that she has received this card.

Sara_1

As I was packing the card up I was surprised how far out the butterfly wings stick out. So on the widest points I think the card might be 6.5 inches. I colored Tilda onto Bazzill kraft cardstock and colored her with Prisma Color Pencils in. For the background I used some swirl lines I saw Chris Dark doing on some of her “older” artwork to fill in areas and I always loved it, so I gave it a try too. For that I used my Copic Multiliner.

Sara_2Other supplies used:

Hip Hip Hooray Tilda
Paper: Magnolia Mini papers (tealpink)
Sentiment: Amuse Art Stamps or Penny black?! I forgot
Dies: Magnolia DooHickey heart tag, Go Create, Butterfly Joy crafts
Toos> Big Shot, heat tool
Other: flowers, button, Frantage, Gesso, gel pen, doily

a little gift

Hello there...
as always I was pretty late getting all my Christmas gifts prepared and mailed out but seams most of them have already arrived, so happy about that.
As I was struggling with creative ideas I have found the post-it note holder I had already started in Summer with some lovely papers Janice from Sir Stampalot had sent me. Of course I had planed to use them with a summer image - the cold pink and green works well with silver for a winter look too. This is my second holder and I thought I had taken photos how the inside looks but I think I never did.
Essentially imagine a 12x12 paper and you score the paper so you have 9 sections scored. You would cut the 4 squares in the top /bottom corners out (this is just the visual) if you want to re-create this.. don't forget to add the height of your post-it note, so I added to my squares about 0.5. I used 2 12x12 of paper. If you create yourself a dummy first from old paper it's very easy to figure out.

I also stamped a little sentiment some of the Post-it notes in a corner. Made it look a little more finished.

These are the supplies I used:
Stamp: Winter Wonderland Collection "Show the Way Tilda"
Dies: Magnolia Doo Hickey Mistletoe, poinsettia
Memory Box snowflake die
Stickles: Star Dust, Diamond, Silver
Coloring: copics, white gel pen
Tools: Scor pal

Have a sunny day

 Hello friends,
thank you for your visit... Today i just have a simple card to share and please forgive me the weired photos.
You may have noticed that i am no longer able to post on a regular basis, well the reason for that is that we decided to sell our house. I have been cleaning, scrubbing, reorganizing and also of course buying things to "decorate" your house for selling purposes.
Its a lot of work... we have a small home, 4 people and lived in the house for 11 years. Lots of stuff accumulated, even though i thought we got rid of a lot of bulk when the water damage happened in the basement last year.

Once we are ready for showings (hopefully in a few weeks) it definitely will be challenging with the craft area keeping it clean and tidy. The photo tent used to be in my master bedroom and now i have to build it up and down each time when i take photos - you can tell already in those two shots what a difference it made just because my lamps were not set up right. (i have to adjust the length of the legs again)

These are the supplies i used for the card:
Coloring: Mostly Prisma Color Pencils but some Copics were used as well - face

Sweet Pea Tilda

Hello ladies, thank you for swinging by.

Things are calming down a bit here. Lucas had a bad accident at school last Thursday morning, he slipped, bumped his head to a brick corner so badly that he shortly passed out. It was really scary. His scull has a bruise from the bottom neck to the top of his head and his ear was swollen 3x the normal size. He is feeling better and i did sent him back to school today.

Its also raining so the guy who should work on the outside of the house decided not to come. Duh!
So as you can see... :-) i used the time to craft a bit. This is what i just finished up.

I choose little Sweet Pea Tilda and used papers all from Magnolia. I even kept the little paper strips so i can tell you exactly what papers they are.
6x6 "With Love" Green Romance is the bottom sheet
6x6 "A Christmas Story" Striped Cloth
6x6 "Summer Memories" Lucky Clover is the third layer
Additional stamps: script, postmark stamp also by Magnolia
Die: Doohickey Magnolia
Stickles is Crystal - it has a nice green sheen to it

Pandora Mothers Day

Hi there, i would like to show you the little card for Mothers Day i made to sent to my mother. Yesterday i posted a bunch of cards to Europe and once again it was jar dropping how much a single card costs these days to ship to Europe! Those new prices are really killing me!

So my card is small and light weight, i even in cooperated my little Pandora charm (Mothers Day gift) to my card - this way i don't have to ship the box and ship it in a large envelope. voila.. task completed. I am happy with it.

Supplies:
Stamp: Magnolia - Once upon a time - Tilda with a curl
Sentiment: Magnolia "May your day be Special"
Papers: Magnolia - "Shoe Ornament" "something new" -
both patterns are available in 6x6 and 12x12

Dies: Magnolia DooHickey - Label 'Dream Tag", Go Create, and Memory Box
Embellishments: flowers: Hobby House, seam binding ribbon

Thank you gift bag

Hello ladies thank you so much for your visit.
Debbie asked me if i had time to make for her a couple of cards to give her room mom's with the option of adding a Gift card.

Well...as you can see my first idea was not to make a card but a decorated paper bag. I got once a sweet decorated bag from Tammi and she included a gift card for me and i thought it was so cute. I would give this along with some chocolate.

For the image i went with one of the "neutral" Tilda's from the just recent Collection. The entire Collection is now available and ready to ship at Sir Stampalot.

Additional supplies used:
Sentiment: Lili of the Valley
Dies:Tim Holtz - Butterfly border, Sign (Alterations) Go Create
Papers: pink butterflies, blue/pink paper flamingo flowers, script once upon a time all by Magnolia,
Embellishments: blue Chandelier Garland by Magnolia, Stickles

chalk

Hello,
Thank you so much for your visit. The other day when i colored this little sitting Tilda for my egg container, i first stamped the image off some Kraft card stock to see if the size would work for the container. Than later in the evening while i was cleaning up my craft table i started to scribble the image in with black and white chalk pens. It took no longer than 10 minutes. I was really surprised by the out come and emailed a quick picture to a couple of friends to see if they thought it was worth to make a card with it.

Since there was a lot of scribbles around the image i had to cut that off with the smallest possible oval Nestabilite, but i think it still works. Everything on this card was already previously cut for other cards and ended up not being used and tossed in a clear storage bin to use for later.

All i had to do was add some flowers, sew and sponge the card stock/design paper.

Here are the supplies i used:
Stamp: Pie Tilda, Make a wish sentiment, new york post stamp
Magnolia Design Paper: flowers and blue quilt
Dies: So lovely, Spellbinder banner, Tag, Spellbinder oval, Go Create, Wood embellishments are PrimaMarketing. i know Sir Stampalot has the kit i used.. i just could find the correct direct link. This is how it looked sort of.

Looking to make a craft to make with your kids?

Hello ladies, how are you?
We have had a rainy week and its just all day dark. Yesterday i had to turn on the lights at 2 pm and we got a flood warning with all that rain coming down.

Well.. i have nothing "exciting" to show you today :-) but maybe it inspires you to get your old, for ages tucked away shrink foil out of your cabinet. Well at least that's where i found mine. Shrink foil is such a fun project and my kids have a blast cutting monsters and all sorts of shapes out and color them in. Of course the fun part is to watch them through the oven glass shrink and curl to tiny things :-). I cut Tilda with Tulip with my biggest oval Nestabilitie shape out and look how small it turned out to be.

The other thing you might remember what happens with Shrink foil is that usually after they shrunk, the colors are really pale and light, so i tried to press down my pencils (Pablo's) really heavily and get a good grip of ink on the rough surface of the shrink foil.

I am happy with the intensity of the coloring however i need to remember to start out with the lightest color first and than go over that area with a darker color (for instance a flower start with yellow and than color patels with pink in) because the "right" side will be the one you are not coloring on and the wrong side is the one you color on. You will need to seal that side with a sealer - you could use just probably clear nail polish for your kids shapes but for mine i used Rangers Glossy Accents.

tools: Crop a dile, charms, pen, liquid pearls, dies: Nestabilities and Go Create - a tag die i got from my friend Nicole. Thanks girl.

Egg Container

Hello ladies, i hope you have had a great Easter celebration with your family and children.
I know in Europe, you are all still celebrating Easter Monday and have today off, my husband works here for a Italian company and he also is one of the lucky people who is still home.

I would like to show you a "quick" Mitbringsel (German :-) for a friend. I used up all scraps of the pretty Little Darlings "Summer Sorbet" papers. They matched perfectly the Milka Egg container i found at my local grocery store. For those of you who have not seen those containers - because i noticed it is almost impossible to get in the States paper egg containers for 4 or 6 eggs. The containers Milka has is filled with 4 chocolate eggs and i only saw them about 3 weeks before Easter, they were already sold out about 1 week ago. Luckily I did buy 2 containers - one the kids ate of course all the eggs but i keept the container and i plan on altering it maybe to give to a baby - filled with a pair of socks or hand knitted booties. I will come with something up i am sure.

Supplies used: Milka chocolate egg container
Stamps: Tilda - Sweet Crazy Love
Sentiment: my friend Tammi gave it to me
Paper: Little Darlings
Other: ribbons; Stampin up yellow taffeta, recycled wide twill (Pottery Barn Kids), Raffia,
Pearl stickers, Paper Doily, lace, double sided sticky tape, mounting pads, feathers, circular punches, Stickles,

Easter Greetings

Hello ladies, thank you for your visit.pewh... where did the day go??? I cant remember when i posted last time at 6 pm to my blog. I am sure most of you are running some of these errands before the Easter break just as i do. Who told me to make some of those routine visits the week before a holiday??? i must have been insane that day.

I have made my card using a photo we have up for you as inspiration on the Deep Ocean Challenge blog. Please if you have some time swing by and check it out?!

I made this card about a week prior i had the newest Easter stamps... i hope you still like it even if it does not use the very newest "stuff" :-) I had a play with watercolors. Really different, its hard for me to go light on inks, although i would like my picture to be paler and more romantic. I think thats just me that i do go for the bright intense color. I think recently i got also a bit bored with the regular things and was just looking for a change. I think you may have noticed that because i make many more 3 D items than what i used to make.

For my card i used Fabriano hot pressed watercolor paper as i am really happy with this choice i read on some blogs about the Langton paper and i am super excited to see that Sir Stampalot has it now for sale, as i was not able to locate the paper anywhere i felt comfortable to order overseas.,
I really want to give this paper a try.

For those of you who do not recognize the stamps or just recently started with Magnolia stamps.. here are the names of the images.
Tilda is Tilda with Tulips and Floral background

small hairbrushes and some candy for you

BLOG CANDY IS NOW CLOSED.
Thank you.
Hello my dear readers, thank you so much for all your lovely comments or just for swinging by to take time to look what i have created.

Today i wanted to show you the smaller brushes i spoke about earlier. It took me a bit to finish the brush using "Blanche" because i had to get some EZ mount. The stamping on such a uneven surface is just not possible without a cushion on the stamp. The brush with the circles is my first one, before i did all the work with stamping and coloring i wanted to make sure it acutally turns out okay. I used a Sharpie to just doodle and fill in the simple shapes.

I also thought it would be nice to give one of you a little gift. I have gotten so many great compliments on the first set of hairbrushes - so i thought i would offer the one you see on the photos with the roses

along with 2 Magnolia stamps (Cacao and Tilda blowing hearts) to one of you. Just leave me a comment below, i will draw the winner on Wednesday this coming week.
