Fun Finds

My, OH My I haven't had a Fun Finds post in a while.

I have some great stuff to show off today.

Starting first with this pretty cake plate . . .

Love the fluted edges and the detail work on the base.

Found it just in time to use it for my little ones birthday cake - turned out very pretty.

Next up is a set of pretty white pillow covers.

The photo doesn't do then justice but they have a lovely lace trim along the edges and  pretty detailed design on the front.

I was very excited about this next find - - a lawn chair that in which we can sit straight up in (hard to find) . . . it will need a new coat of fresh white paint but I've been using it just as it is until I can get around to sprucing it up.

And last but not least, I found two glass pedestal bowls that I plan to use for my summer decor in my bedroom.  Love using clear glass in the summer.  It adds a little sparkle which I find very pretty.

How about you?

Have you found yourself some Fun Finds too!

Sure hope so, also hoping you'll share them so I can stop by and check the out.

Bye now,

Robin

Fun Finds

Good Morning!

I haven't had a fun finds post in a while simply because I haven't been out shopping for treasure much the past month.

But I'm getting my act together and had a few chances this past week to stop into a thrift store or two.

It feels so good to be back at it.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

This first thing I found was a stack of four pretty blue and white plates.

These screamed "spring" to me, plus I am all about adding pretty shades of light blue to my decor come springtime so I couldn't pass them up.

For my current black and white obsession I picked up two of these plates to add either as display items or to use at the dinner table.

I always adore pretty floral printed pillowcases and was happy to find this stack of the vintage variety.

One of these day's I'd love to use them mixed together for a fun colorful bedroom but I am unsure how I'll pull it off so for now I'm just gathering supplies,  LOL

And finally, these sweet crocheted edged napkins called out my name when I walked by.

They will be a great addition by my mis-matched collection of lace edged napkins.

Hope you've had a little time yourself this week to seek out a few new treasures for you home.

Would love to know that you've found!

Fun Finds

With how crazy busy the past month has been my thrift store shopping time has been seriously diminished.

But never fear - - I managed to work in one trip early last week and found some fun stuff.

First up, this adorable bunny. . . I think he's cute . . . the rest of the family is shaking their head in shame over my blow-mold obsession.

I on the other hand, I am tickled by the find.

She's become a bit of a joke around here since the day I brought her home everyone and I mean EVERYONE was giving me such a hard time.

So being the nice mom that I am, I starting stashing her away in weird spots around the house, like in the shower, tucked into someone's bed with just the ears poking out, inside the pantry cupboard, on a stool next to the kitchen sink - - you know, stuff like that.

The family, grudgingly, has now accepted her!

Then I found this wall hanging!

It's really big and heavy and I can't wait to give it a makeover.
I think it will look really nice centered over a couple of prints on the wall.

I couldn't pass up this tiny gold mirror, which I will give a face-lift and these black and gold candlesticks which I thought were pretty and will be a great addition to my black and white themed living room that I like to use during the winter months.

White, ironstone soup tureens are always on my "must have list".

You can bet that I was thrilled with this find.

Right now I have it sitting on my kitchen windowsill so I can enjoy it's beauty while I'm washing dishes.

And last but not least, I found this lone salt/pepper shaker that I thought was adorable and the perfect filler for a shelf in the kitchen.

Just look at that face - - so sweet!

There you have it!

How about you, any great finds of your own?

Fun Finds: Church Sale Edition

A few weeks back my sister and I stopped in at a church sale that turned out to be the biggest garage sale I have ever attended.

Room after room of great stuff, we both had great luck finding a cart full of stuff we couldn't do without.

The find of the day, however came at the very end of our shopping and made my day.

I have unofficially been looking for a sofa to replace the one I have in the living room that is falling apart and to my surprise I found one at the sale for a whole ten dollars!

Now the print is a little crazy, some (like me) like it, others (the family) hate it but a little slipcover magic will make it fit into the room for sure.

Take a look!

I'm thinking it's a 70's sofa, but I can't be sure.  However it's a good brand and still in excellent condition.  Makes me wonder if it's been wrapped in plastic for twenty years.  One cushion has a small whole, but other than that I don't think it's been used much at all.  Still very comfortable and firm to sit on and it's the perfect size for the living room.

I like the simple lines and I have to say the fabric is growing on me.  It's perfect for spring and summer.

And how adorable are the little accent pillows!

I'm smitten by this sofa for sure!

Can't hardly believe my luck!

Oh and I clipped a few of my hydrangea's the other day and am loving how it looks with the sofa!

Have a great day.

Fun Finds: Flea Market Edition

The families annual camping trip to Hayward, Wisconsin is always a good time and I've already talked about the fun we've had but for me the one of the best activities is visiting the local flea market on Monday morning.

I look forward to it all year,

I make lists,

I dream about wonderful finds . . .

It's all so wonderful I can hardly stand it.

This years trip was no exception, even without a list **gasp**, I found a whole bunch of stuff that makes me happy.

This first find was found at the second table I stopped at and I knew right away that my flea market luck was going to hold for another year.

I can't get over the cuteness!
They remind me so much of the vintage deer pasted down to me by my grandma that I use every year at Christmas time.
I'll be using this sweet pair somewhere in my family room.

This next find surprised me a bit, but as soon as I saw it I knew it had to come home with me.

Didn't know I was looking for a $3 vintage radio in working condition.
But I sure do love it.
I have it sitting on my kitchen windowsill to make dinner prep and cleanup a little more fun as I sing along to my favorite country music songs.

Scored this glass pitcher with red strips to use in the kitchen and help out with the red and white theme I've got going on there.

Plus red handled kitchen tools could not be passed up.

My daughter love to use the mixer as often as possible.

My small collection of dog figurines received a little boost with I found these two sweet little guys.

The journal from 1946 is in excellent condition.  I loved it's red leather cover and multiple pages of interesting information about the year.  You know things like postage rates, principal cities, tide tables and such.  Even has a little page towards the front to write down your hat, glove, collar, hosiery and shoe size - - how convenient!

Ironstone should never, ever be passed up if found at a good price so I picked out this medium sized pitcher and a dish to go with it.

Found some glass jars to use in my studio - love the metal lids.

I thought this footed, covered dish as very pretty with it's silver band around the top.

And last but not least, a monogrammed covered dish in gold and white.  The "M" must stand for Mom of course!

So there you go, my fabulous finds from the flea market.

It was a good day!

Bye now,

Robin

Fun Finds

Hunting for treasure is such fun, but Friday Fun Finds makes it so much better somehow.

This week I have a some great stuff to show you.

Starting with this stack of vintage sheets.

My collection is getting somewhat larger than the space I have to store them in so one of these days I am going have to get working on all the project I want to make with them.

My next find is this red striped pitcher.  I love the cheerful red and I thought it would be both useful come lemonade season and a helpful way to add a little more red to my open shelves in the kitchen.

Yep, I was right, the splash of red is pretty.

I also found this little tin with pretty flowers.  It's perfect for the little shelf in the kitchen along side another tin I found recently.

White urns are always on my watch list so when I spotted this pretty on I snatched it off the shelf  as quick as I could.  It's looking good filled with fake grass on the hutch.

And last but not least is this tiny blue and white pitcher.

I love using all shades of blue this time of year so I'm sure this little guy will fit in very nicely.

How about you?

Any fabulous finds this week?

Fun Finds

Good Morning!

It's time for Friday's Fun Finds and boy do I have some great stuff to share with you toady.

First off is this vintage garden chair.

Now technically I didn't find it this week, more like months ago while we were digging ourselves out of yet another snowfall but this week I finally had time to clean it up and drag it to the porch which is why I'm sharing it today.

Don't you just love it!

The color on it is amazing.
Eventually I'll give the cushions a makeover but I'm keeping the pretty original paint as long as possible.

Also found this rug for the porch . . . ok maybe it's not really a rug, more like blanket but it seems rug like to me and the colors are perfect for the space so that's what I'm using it for.

For the kitchen I stumbled on this cool vintage rolling pin and thought it would be a fun thing to add to my shelf.

I love it's shape and the fact that it has a few cracks (which you can't see very well in the photo)

And last but not least, I found these two metal boxes.

For some reason I'm loving all sized and styles of boxes lately, I have growing collection of wood ones but these two are my first metal ones.

 So pretty isn't it.
Normally I stay away from gold but this muted, worn finish was interesting me.
The so did the stripes and flower design.

The second box is this silver number.  I fell for the unique shape and crest on the top.

The inside of this one is lined in red velvet that is in really good shape still and doesn't have the weird smell.

I'm sure to find a great spot for both of these boxes.

How about you.

Find the perfect spot for a new treasure of your own?

Fun Finds

Morning Everyone!

Wow!  Not sure where the last week went but now that it's Friday I guess it's time to show off my finds of the week.

First off is this sweet little silver sugar bowl.
Love it's curved handles and trophy like  look.

Also found this "R" cut from a book a couple weeks ago while out shopping with some friends . . .

Hi Deb!
Hi Linda!

I'm sure to find lots of places to use both around the house.

And last but not least is this trio of pretty blue and white bowls.
They are sure to come in handy once I switch my decor over to spring like items.  I tend to like to use a heave dose of pale blue and these will fit in perfectly.

Hope you all had some luck this past week hunting for treasures,

bye now,

Robin
