31 Days of Crafting - Day Sixteen - Shattered Dreams

Happy Saturday!!!  The radio stations here are having an all-80s weekend which is my favorite kind of music.  A few of the songs I hadn't heard in awhile so I pulled out my old CDs and one in particular really stuck with me. Remember "Shattered Dreams"?  That was a great song. Anyways, I was playing that song on repeat and this card came together.  The background looks like shattered gems or rocks and I just love how it turned out. Plus it's PURPLE, which is my favorite color.  I hadn't made a mostly-purple card in a bit and they always make me happy.

I also kind of think it's Twilight-inspired.  The colors, the dreamcatcher, makes me wanna watch the movies.

(It looks WAY more purple than pink in person.  And the dream is actually silver but it kinda looks rose in this picture. It's REALLY gloomy today, makes for bad photos.)

Just a few challenges:

DREAM - Brea Reese Brand Ambassador Post!

Happy Tuesday!!  I've got a new Brea Reese Brand Ambassador post for you today, with an inspirational card.  The first word that came to mind was "DREAM" so that's what I went with!  I've been so excited to play with my Tropical Love Resist Paper Pad.  I blended colors from both the Jewel Watercolor Set and the Classics set to create this background.  I just love how vibrant the colors are!!

If you haven't used a resist pad before, I'll explain how awesome they are.  These pads are made of watercolor paper with a pre-embossed design on them.  When color is added (I chose to use the Classics and Jewel watercolor sets but any water-based medium will work!), the embossed design resists the color.  I did take a wet paper towel and wipe the excess color off the embossed design after my ink dried, and it REALLY made the images pop!!

The letters I cut using Handwritten Uppercase Alphabet dies from Momenta, out of plain black cardstock.  The camera doesn't really show it but I painted it with three coats of Liquid Glitter. It's super shimmery in person!!

Be sure to check out the Jewels Professional Watercolors and all the other Brea Reese products!!  Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  Laters!!

DREAM - Momenta Brand Ambassador Post!!

Happy Monday!!  I'm off to a crafty start of my week with another Momenta Brand Ambassador post for you today.  I used several awesome Momenta products, and I did use one thing from their sister brand, Art-C.  I used the DREAM stencil from this XOXO adhesive stencil set to create the sentiment tag with Art-C Copper Texture Cream.  The awesome dreamcatcher embellishment, I actually made using the Momenta die and Bright Basics Cardstock Pad.  I love how versatile this paper is, you can do anything with it.

Be sure to check out all the fun Momenta products!  Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  Laters!!

Growing In Unity Day Two - Risk Everything

Happy Tuesday!!!  It's my second day as one of the Growing In Unity girls this week, and I'm really excited to have a sort of mixed media piece to share with you.  I absolutely love Unity Stamps, and they compliment a mixed media look so well.  I made the background papers with Color Burst and watercolors and Distress Inks first, then chose the part I wanted to use for my image when they were dry.  I absolutely love this kit, Follow Your Dreams.  It's part of their Layers of Life subscription program, which I am seriously considering joining!

I also put a sentiment inside, which I don't often do, but the colors on the front and the size of the image didn't really leave me any space to add the sentiment there.

It reads: Sometimes life is about risking everything for a dream no one can see but you

BE SURE to comment on my blog posts every day this week!  Two lucky winners will receive 25 amazing Unity stamps!  How awesome is that?!?!  If you missed my previous posts, here's an easy link to yesterday's post!

Capture Your Dreams

That's good advice, don't you think?  I actually heard a parent tell their child the other day that dreaming was a waste of time. I totally disagree.  Dreaming is essential.

I'm so inspired by feathers and Native American art lately, probably in part due to my Twilight obsession (I'm TEAM EDWARD but I still like the dream catchers!).  This was my first project using this die and these stamps, and I'm so excited for how it turned out.

My favorite thing is how the feathers came out. I used some techniques I hadn't tried before and I'm super happy with the results.

I'm entering this in some challenges, of course:

Thank you so much for looking.  More coming tomorrow, and believe it or not, it might be...dare I say it....CAS!!!  Laters!!!
