31 Days of Crafting - Day Two - Friends Forever

HAPPY NATIONAL CRAFT MONTH!!!!  I had DT posts yesterday, but I just had to get that out of my system.  I'm so excited, I love March.  I love the shopping and the new products and the creating and all the projects I'm trying to make and share. It's hysteria but I LOVE it!

Another thing I love?  Friends.  My favorite show of all time.  I absolutely had to get this stamp and die and paper collection when it came out, but it occured to me about a week ago that I could REALLY challenge myself creatively by using the colored die cuts that came in my bundle INSTEAD of the stamps and coordinating dies!

It was definitely a challenge.  For starters, I'm not a fan of the white edging on stamped images so I fussy-cut the white edge off of allllllll the die cuts.  It was a bit tricky with the lobster's antennae and Phoebe's guitar but I made it work.  I also had to darken Chandler's hair, because the precolored shade was just too pale.  It was almost the shade Chandler had briefly in S4 while Matthew Perry was doing reshoots for Three to Tango, but still too blonde.  So I changed that.

I kind of hid Monica behind the couch a little bit lololol.  But overall I'm really happy with how it turned out.

I HAD To Make This Card

This card has been a journey.  I started it last Saturday night, probably around eleven p.m.  I had heard the news about Matthew Perry’s passing, right around when everyone else did, like nine pm or so.  If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know that Friends is my favorite show of all time and that Chandler is my favorite Friend.

I don’t think it really hit me at first.  I felt so……numb, I guess was the best word.  I really wanted to make a Batman card, but I just couldn’t find my Superhero box.  So I settled for Batman inspired.  The colors are obviously Batman inspired, and the gold pearls represent a Batman sweatshirt I saw recently with gold pearls around the outline of the insignia.  It also reminds me of the Batman shaped lights in Matthew’s pool.  The coffee theme is not only a nod to Friends but to Matthew himself.

I've worked on the card in shifts, a bit a day,  until it was finished like an hour ago.

The sentiment is 100% intentional.  I couldn't make a sympathy card, it was too soon for that.  Those words really fit what I was feeling, and am feeling, and they're still accurate today, almost a week later.

I'm sure I'll make other cards inspired by or related to this in the future.  Art is what heals us.  It's definitely what heals me.

Thanks so much for looking, and please, those of you that love Friends too, share your favorite episodes with me in the comments.  Thank you!!  Laters!!

STAMPtember - Day Twenty-Three - Friendly Silhouettes

Happy 28th birthday to my favorite show, a show that needs no explanation or introduction.  A show that makes me laugh whether I've seen the episode a hundred times or a thousand.  I love it.  Always have, always wll.

31 Days of Crafting - Day Three - I Say Stupid Things

Everyone has a favorite Friend, right??  Mine is Chandler!  Friends is without question my favorite show of all time, so I wanted to make a Friends card during National Craft Month.  I'm posting it today because Friends aired on Thursday nights.

STAMPtember - Day Twenty-Two - It was 25 Years Ago Today.....

It's no secret that Friends is my favorite show of all time.  It's seriously the best thing ever created anywhere ever and if you didn't know that, well, you've clearly never seen it because OMG.  I laugh everytime I watch it and I've seen every episode a thousand times, easy.

ANYWAYS.  That show is TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OLD TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!

So I of course made an amazing card to celebrate it today!

The six colors of coffee cups represent the six Friends (the center cup is blue, for Chandler, because he's my favorite), and the hearts are the same colors as the dots in the Friends opening sequence.  I'm so happy with how this turned out.  And I know it's hard to tell in the photos, but there are actually six colors of microbeads in the shaker, to represent the characters.

SUP - Momenta Brand Ambassador Post

Happy Hump Day!!  I've got another Momenta Brand Ambassador post for you today, a fun and Friend-ly one.  Ya'all know my favorite show of all time is Friends, and I was looking at my stickers today and BAM!  This card came together.  Super easy and super fun.  I used my favorite Bright Basics paper pad for the background on this card. I'll bet you think that's a background stamp.  It's a whole Momenta stamp set!  I simply left the stamps attached to the acrylic backing sheet, inked them all up at once to stamp them and voila!  Instant background stamp!  I made my SUP sentiment with Momenta chipboard alphabet stickers.  The banner strip was created with a Momenta alphabet stamp set.  A few rhinestones and my card is finished :)

Be sure to check out all the fun Momenta products!  Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  Laters!!

STAMPtember - Day Twenty-Two - You Gotta Have Friends!!

Anyone who knows me--hell prolly anyone who visits my blog or even my Twitter page--knows that I love TV.  They also most likely know that my favorite show of all time is Friends.  From the first day I watched it, I was hooked.  Friends is the kind of show that makes me roar with laughter even when I've seen it 100 times.  Twenty-three (!!) years ago today, Friends premiered, so I wanted to make a card to celebrate that.

    Some challenges for this card:
