**SUMMER SOIREE IG HOP** Week Six - Christmas In July!!

Welcome to our Summer Soiree Cardmaking Hop, hosted by @createwithkas.  For week 6, we are sharing creations inspired by me, @royalpumpkinart, I suggested Christmas in July as a theme.  If this inspires you, please use the hashtag #summersoireecardmakinghop2024 in your posts so we can see your creations!

I chose to make a slimline card with a jingle bell theme cause I was singing "Jingle Bell Rock" and that's just how I roll 😂

**ANYTHING GOES** New Challenge with The Creative Crafters!!

Happy middle-of-the-month!  It's the fifteenth and that means it's time for a new challenge at Creative Crafters!  As always our challenge is Anything Goes!!!  Since it's July, I made a Christmas card!  I've been a bit more Disney obsessed than usual as of late, so I made a Disney Christmas card.  What's better than Disney and Christmas??

**CHRISTMAS IN JULY** New Challenge with Simply Create Too!

Happy Friday!  It's time for a new challenge at Simply Create Too and our theme this month is Christmas in July!!!

I have been dying to play around with these dies from The Greetery and I finally got to do it.  I love how they look so very vintage.  I don't have any of the coordinating greenery dies to use with it, so I used patterned paper instead.

Starry Christmas Coffee

Or tea, or hot cocoa.....

This card was a blast!  The tone-on-tone background took a bit of time, but I love how it turned out.

Taking Christmas in July Literally!!!

Okay, so about two weeks ago, a friend suggested everyone in our little group make a Christmas card with summer colors.

I'm the only one who did it.

I'm not even sure I LIKE the card, but here we are.

90% of my Christmas paper is, you know, Christmas colors.  The rest is pastel.  So I had to make my own background paper and I used a snowflake stamp that resembles a star.  That might be my favorite part.

In general, just a lot of things went into this card.  I just had ZERO inspiration and I didn't want, like, Santa in a swimsuit.  So I decided to make a coffee card, so it would count for that challenge too.  Now for that, it needed a star, but I love stars so that was no big deal.  But the card fell flat with just a star on the cup.  And I didn't like the look of an embossed mug, or of patterned paper (again, wrong colors anyway).  So I added the rainbow out of scraps from a different card.  Do I love it or hate it?  I don't even know.

Happy Holly Tag

I don't get to make a ton of tags, but omg I had so much fun making this one!  I got to get my inner Tim Holtz on with those holly leaves, and it had been awhile.

**CHRISTMAS IN JULY** New Challenge with Get Creative Challenge!!

Hi everyone!  It's a new challenge at Get Creative Challenges and our theme is Christmas In July!!  Merry Christmas in a sauna!  I'm dying!  But I do love, love, love this card.  I'd forgotten how fun light up cards could be.

Yeah, yeah it's cute on its own but LOOK!

I cannot believe I took the picture with my nails looking that horrible!!!

So much better without my nail in the photo lol.

CRAFTmas in July - Day Thirty - A Thrill of Hope

Happy Saturday!!  My second to last card for this Christmas filled month is another non traditional one. I JUST got this shaker card set from Queen and Company, and I couldn't wait to play with it.  I absolutely love this sentiment die, because "O Holy Night" is my favorite Christmas song.

CRAFTmas in July - Day Twenty-Nine - Merry FISHmas!!

So at first I was conflicted about these Christmasy beach stamps and dies.  I wasn't going to get them, but somehow, all of a sudden, I couldn't NOT get them.  Know what I mean???  And I do think they work swimmingly well for Christmas in July.  See what I did there?

CRAFTmas in July - Day Twenty-Four - Christmas Rainbow

So it's been so hot for days.  We had like seven consecutive days in the 90s and it's just been miserable.  Today it rained, but somehow that made things hotter. I'm not even kidding.

Enough about the weather.  The summer isn't exactly conducive to Christmas cardmaking, but I do like making the Christmas cards and watching the Christmas movies.  I bought this stamp & die set from Simon Says Stamp and I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it.  I'm not entirely happy with the colors I chose, but I think it turned out okay.

CRAFTmas in July - Day Twenty-Two - Mr. & Mrs. Claus

I had sooooo much fun making these cards with this month's BYSHC sketch!

I don't think I can pick a favorite, they're both really cute and jolly!

I like how playful Santa's expression is....

But I also love Mrs. Claus!!  Her dress, the plaid oven mitts, and she's baking, so....

Which is your favorite?
