Calling All Sistahs!!

1 in 8 women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime.

On August 17th, 2015, an awesome friend of ours became part of that statistic.  Calling All Sistahs was started by Michele Gross, owner of CAS-ual Fridays stamps, shortly after her breast cancer diagnosis.  It's her hope to create Breast Cancer Awareness beyond the month of October by reminding you to do your self breast exams on the 17h of every month.  We want to use these projects each month to encourage all of you do to the same.  You can read more about Michele's story here.

The Calling All Sistahs collection was created by Michele with the intent of donating 50% of her profits from all sales to Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention charities, in honor of all women battling or who have battled breast cancer.

Be sure to join us on the 17th of every month for special projects created with the Calling All Sistahs collection and a reminder to your self exams!

I'm so thrilled to be a part of a DT that's doing so much for a good cause. I'm also thrilled that Laura's Loft is one of the first shops to carry the Calling All Sistahs collection!  Laura also wants to continue funding the fight so she'll be donating 50% of all the profits from the Calling All Sistahs collection sold at her shop to breast cancer research near her in VA.

First up is this cute spring card, made with We R Memory Keepers Next Level Gemstone embossing folder, and Altenew Thoughts and Reminders.

My second card is using a few stamp set favorites of mine, CAS-ual Fridays Curtis Background and Lovely.  I also used several Mini Distress Inks sets, #6, #8 and #9.

Can't see where the Lovely stamp set?  It's on the flowers!!

**RESIST** New Challenge with Laura's Loft!!

It's our second challenge at Laura's Loft, and our theme is RESIST!!  Get those embossing powders out and make some artsy magic!

We have two AMAZING prizes for you to win this month!!  First prize is a $25 gift certificate to Laura's Loft!!

I'm playing with the Curtis background stamp from CAS-ual Fridays, the Lovely stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays and several sets of Distress Ink Minis: 12, 13, 14 and 15.  All these products can be found at Laura's Loft!

I did a resist technique for my background with watercolor paper and Distress Inks. I couldn't find my craft sheet so I just smooshed the pads onto a plastic bag and sprayed it with water!  The embossing resisted the ink and I could dip my paper or drag it across the wet ink multiple times until I got the look I desired.

Remember you can play along as many times as you'd like!  This challenge runs today through January 29th!!

CAS-Ual Fridays with Laura's Loft!!!

Happy Wednesday all!  I'm here with a special post today with Laura's Loft and CAS-ual Fridays!!  This is a really special release with Laura's Loft as there's a brand-new Girlfriends collection releasing today!  These stamps and dies were previously only available to Stamps of Approval memberships, so it's your first chance to get them!!

I created this card using the Curtis Background from the Girlfriends Collection.  I'm also using the Tag Buddies Fri-Die!  Check back here tomorrow to see another project using the same stamp in a different way!

Now I know it's called the Girlfriends collection, but I thought it would be fun to use the items to make a masculine card!
