GUEST DESIGNERS
Myriam used  My Weekend 1 and papers from  Autumn Fruit Basket Digital Stamp and Paper Pack and said "This card reminds me my aunt, that always makes me pick the falling leaves."

Lynne

I love using digital stamps because I can size them to my project and print as many as I need.  I actually printed two of this image so I could cut out and "pop" elements off the tag to create some dimension.
I painted both images using my Silks, an acrylic glaze that shimmers, and then cut out and adheared key elements to the base using foam pop dots.  Then I added a layer of Ranger Stickles and CTMH Liquid Glass for that final bit of sparkle.  A bit of fiber for texture, two colors of mats and a bit of poetry about Autumn finished off this lovely little lady. Pop on over to my blog for more details.

OUR DESIGN TEAM

We are welcoming Doris back to the team, also more good news - Kemly (who has been with us for a 4 challenge guest spot - you can apply for this using the tab at the top of the blog) has joined the team to replace Cindy who we said a sad goodbye to last week.
For my first today´s Challenge idea, I used the Angel Bear from Beary Dust Stamps. I made a box which I decorated with this beautiful image. For to paint it, I used Spectrum Noir, in the following combinations: Bear: GB10, GB8, EB5
Green leaves: DG3, CG2, CT1
Wine leaves: DR7, DR6, DR4
Yellow leaves: GB5, CT4, CT2
Orange leaves: CR10, GB5, OR1

And for my second one, I made a simple card using the Pumpkin Swirls from Kaz Kraftz. In addition I used some Prima flowers and the same color scheme for the image. Have a Great Week!!

For my falling leaves project, I made a tent card.
On the back I add a tree with falling leaves. In front, I used this lovely "Baby Bee Enjoy The Fall", provided by our generous sponsor.
The digi is attached to a string just to give the sense of the baby flying on the falling leave.
For my card base I used craft cardstock, embossed with a Fall Leaves Folder and then distress with fall colors.

Hi! For my project I used Fall Kat  from  Stichy Bear our special sponsor.
My card has many beautiful colors of Autumn, with fall leaves. I like this season but we do not have it my country  the colours are wonderful.

My project is colored with Aquarelle pencils and I used distress to the leaves of my card.

I used Ike's Art Fall Cat coloured with Promarkers, I am rather fond of Ike's cats! I also used the lovely swirly paper from the Coosty Creations Autumn Fruit Basket Digital Stamp and Paper Pack, on the front and inside the card. I found some "ribbon" which is string, cord and wooden beads which I bought from Lidl ages ago, it was perfect for this card.

Here I am, Monday afternoon, with my card...I used the  Pumpkin Swirls from Kaz Kraftz. I've 3D-ed the pumpkins, coloured with Promarkers and added Stickles Glitter, eyelash wool, ribbon and punched out leaves.  Although my phone downloaded the lovely papers, my old computer couldn't find them so I opted for some leaves and pumpkins papers I found whilst hunting through my files for them! The orange ribbon and the means to make the sentiment came from a tin case set from Laura Ashley. I've also added a stamp by Hero Arts using an autumn scene in aged mahogany, which I also used on the larger punched out leaves, plus orange and green Promarkers. The lower card has no glitter (I bet you never noticed!)
Pop over to my blog for more pictures.

Winners - who has the best or biggest pumpkins?

Doris set a very popular challenge and she is very happy that you all wanted to share your makes with us! We had lots of great pumpkins to look at so thank you all for sharing with us this time, and thank you to our two wonderful sponsors who provided great images to the team and great prizes for our winners!
The team had a tough time deciding and of course with so many came up with different favourites, only two entries were eliminated, one didn't mention Quirky or link to the blog, and one had a paper pumpkin in the photo but not actually on the make being submitted! This left us with 35 great entries to compare.
All of you deserve to win, but there can only be 3 prize winners, and the team had a hard job to decide this time (and every time some more votes came it the top three changed), but finally we decided on our winners:

In first place this gorgeous detailed card by Grandma Bonnie, featuring a kitten sleeping in a pumpkin:

Congratulations Grandma Bonnie, you have won 7 images from Bugaboo!

The second person chosen by the team is Katie Tate, who is a little batty about pumpkins:

Congratulations Katie, you have won 3 images from Limited Runs!

In third place we have Billie A, with one of her two entries, this one also has a cute cat by a huge pumpkin.

Congratulations Billie, you have won 2 images from Bugaboo!

If all three of you would like to contact me (Cazzy) using the link in the sidebar to email me, I will arrange for you to collect your prizes and send you a personalised winner's badge. We would love it if you all could join us as Guest Designers - please say you will - let us know when you email about your prize if you can!

Thank you to everyone who entered, and don't forget to check back later today to find out about our new challenge and some sad news!

Challenge # 20 2013 Quirky Pumpkin Time

Hello my dear Quirky friends, it´s my turn again (Doris), and I hope that everyone has a life full of health, love, happiness and creativity. And as you can see, I wanted to pick a theme orange colored:

” When you see me in the fields,
my oranges glowing in the sun.
It is time to say good bye to summer
and Hello to autumn fun!!”

All you have to do is let your imagination fly and participate in projects (any project) that has pumpkins. Pumpkins, happy, sad, funny, scared, friendly, angry … Pumpkins. I can´t wait to see the beautiful creations that you have to share with our Quirky family. And to encourage you to participate, I want share with you who are our sponsors in our Pumpkin Challenge.

So we have a beautiful color, a nice theme, and of course wonderful prizes
First Place: 7 Bugaboo digi images
Second Place: 3 digi Limited Runs images
Third Place: 2 Bugaboo digi images

And last but not least important, to see who won the last challenge click HERE or scroll down to the next post.
Now, let me show you  the beautiful projects that our guests designers and our team have been working on.

Guest Designer Gabriela

I want to thank Quirky Crafts for this opportunity. For me is a honor to design for you. I made a shadow box that represents the crops. I used fall colors and of course lots of pumpkins. Then I added two digis from our sponsor BUGABOO. (Gabriela, we want to thank you for being a great guest and making this wonderful example).

  Gemma

I made the background of this canvas using Adirondack paint dabbers and the Digis are from 'Limited Runs' and I absolutely love them. I coloured the Digis in with Promarkers and added some texture paste through a stencil on the background. I also stamped some cobwebs around the canvas and added a metal moon and moth embellishment.

Valou used a Bugaboo image called Cat Peeker on her amazing Halloween card. Who wouldn't love to get a card like this!

I love this arty looking crow and pumpkin from Bugaboo, so much I used it three times! I picked up the sentiment free from Bugaboo too, you might be lucky and still find it there free but it is due to be replaced so you might just have to buy it (or win the challenge and get it free). Ribbon is from Crafty Ribbon.
Back later with something spooky!

For this challenge I made a Step Pergola Card, with this lovely digi "Scarecrow Pumpkin String" from our sponsor Bugadoo. I love fall colors, that always looks good with pumkins; and of course a cute fall owl, just looking around from the top of the Pergola.

Here's my first make using the Pumpkin String and a Bugabo freebie sentiment pumpkin! They've all been layered and 3D-ed and I've added bats and cats and stars and spiders! The little pumpkin by the scarecrow's foot is one left over from all the '3D-ing' All coloured with ProMarkers.

For my first project, I chose a tridimensional Shadow Box, with background in autumnal colors. I used  and AKVFALL wheelbarrow, both images from our great sponsor Bugaboo , and both hand painted with watercolor pencil.

My second project is an LO, for which it I increased the size of Witch and Pumpkins, a beautiful image of our sponsor Limited Runs. It is handpainted, always using watercolor pencil and I used autumnal and halloween colors as background.

As I'm just about to start up with my studies again, I thought that for this challenge I'd decorate a binder. I used mixture of paper scraps, stickers and washi tape before making a feature of the quirky Pumpkin Bird from Bugaboo (coloured with Prismacolor pencils and Souffle pens). I'll post a full tutorial on my blog tomorrow, so make sure to come check it out!
