What Do I Get From Writing My Blog Part 3

Along the way another thing that kept me from finishing things was the process of getting my work ready for shows. I also suffered burn out after my solo shows or large projects like the 8 KING size Millennium quilts I made for my grandchildren, each with 2000 different fabrics. In addition I exchanged fabrics with hundreds of people all over the world while I was making them.

Currently I create with fabrics as an artist and I hope when you see my work it will add pleasure to your day and life.
My current work involving my Ice Tapestries is my own proprietary method. I copyright all the work I create. Each piece is unique and the ideas come from somewhere deep inside me from my 78 years of living.
Almost everything I create is available for sale. When you acquire a piece of my art I hope it adds to the quality of your life. Art can provide happiness, enjoyment, healing  and therapy in your life and beauty to your surroundings. .
Creating is my passion which is as necessary to me as breathing.
I never could have dreamed or planned the life I am living. I know I overuse the work serendipitous but it is the way I have always lived my life and it has worked for me.
Since I put so much of myself in my posts, I document all my blogs in a book I have printed every year. I enjoy looking back at these books and see how I have lived these most recent years.
So whether you follow my blog, get daily notices when I post or just check in occasionally I am happy to share my art and adventures with you.

IT’S HERE! My Latest Blog Book

It arrived 4 days early!
image
I make a book of all my blog posts periodically. This one details the longest period of time. It  was fun to look through and see the last 14 months.
I keep it on the coffee table so friends can look through it and see my blog in fast time!

This view of the opened book shares some photos from my show “Ice Tapestries and Shibori Quilts” in early 2017. I enjoyed seeing all these pictures at once.

Another view of the book opened. On the left prints from some of the stamps I carved and printed and more show photos on the right.
It is a great way to see where I have been in the very recent past. This has been a whirlwind year and this is a good reminder to me of all the parts of my life.
If you visit take time to browse through the book.

Blog Book 6

image

This is the cover of the 6th blog book I have had printed.

I ordered it last week and I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived yesterday.

I have a book printed once a year. This one has 256 pages.

image

I am sharing just a few pages from the book.

image

It is a relatively simple process to create a book. I use Blogger for my blog.

I create the books with Blog To Print.

image

One reason I print the books is to have a record of all of my posts in case Blogger ever disappears from the internet.

My blog is my personal diary, although I do make it public on the internet.

image

I have also found guests like to page through the books and it is much faster than viewing all those pages on the internet.

My Newest Arrival -- 2 weeks early

Isn't it great when things happen sooner than expected! The date I was given for the arrival of this book was July 28th. It arrived today, almost 2 weeks early.

It's the biggest and best yet of my blog books. I can't wait to share it with my friends and have more time to look at it myself.

I had a hard time photographing the pages as there was a reflection from the lighting in the room. It was so neat to be able to see all of this group of friends on the facing pages.

This shows several steps in the creation of Bordering On A New Millennium on facing pages. It's great to view them together.

Do you remember my blog posts about quilt cars? They were the most popular posts I ever featured on my blog.

If you have a blog I can't image not wanting to have a Blog to Print book made from your blog. We put a lot of time, thought and ourselves into doing this and it's great to be able to open a book and realize what we have accomplished.

I've made it easy for you to find the site to make your book.
Just look to your right and you'll see a link to the site where you can make you own blog books so that you can save your blog forever.

Can you tell a book by it's cover?

I just ordered my 4th book from Blog to Print.
Since my blog is quite wordy and heavy on photos I am ordering a book every six months.

As you can see the covers of the first three books were red, orange and yellow. The book I just ordered will have a green hard cover.
This blog is all about color and I am ordering the books in rainbow color order.
There are a total of 31 different covers to choose from at this time.
You can order your book with a soft or hard cover.

If you want to order a book from your blog just click on the icon on the right of this page and it will take you directly to the Blog to Print pages so you can order your own.

This is such a great way to document the blog that you have spent so much time creating.

You Can Print Your Own Blog Book

So many of you have asked where I had my blog books printed.
I now have a link at the right where you can click and order one from your own blog.

I am so pleased with the quality of them. It's a great way to document your blog and everything on it.

It is SO easy to do this with all the help that is provided once you click on that icon at the right.

Several people asked me about the cost. I don't think I could print my blog posts myself for what these cost. Your cost is based on the number of pages, as well as whether you want a hard or soft cover. They start at $14.95 for a 20 pages soft cover book and the hard cover starts at $24.95. Additional pages are only 35 cents.
They also provide FREE SHIPPING.

Everyone who comes to my house picks these up and looks at them. I have to admit I, too, enjoy looking at them.

This is my first book and it contains all my posts from 2008. I decided to start with a red cover and I am working my way through the rainbow with the subsequent books.
I had looked into other services that allow you to print a book, but none of them were as easy to use nor as well suited for printing a blog.

This book with the orange cover has all my posts for the first half of 2009.

There are many cover designs available besides the ones I chose.

This book with the yellow cover contains all my posts from the second half of 2009.

I am so excited because after only one more post to my blog I will be able to order my first book from 2010.

If you don't want to print your entire blog you can select parts of it to print.

I think it would be great to pick some of your best posts and have books made up for friends. This could be done very economically and your friends would have a keepsake from your blog.

If you feature your family you could have just the posts that include your family put in a book for them.

What other ideas do you have about printing selective books? Your quilts? Your garden? Your home projects? Your pets? Your travel? A special group of friends? Your favorite recipes? The possibilities are endless.

I hope you'll have as much fun with this as I have.

I also feel this will outlast anything I could have printed myself and looks so much more professional.

My Blog As Printed Books

I wanted to print my blog as a book.
If it were ever to disappear from the Internet I would still have a record of it.
My blog is one way I document my activities and accomplishments.

I have printed 3 books so far. There is a limit as to how many pages you can put in each book so I printed 2 books for 2009.

You can see the layout of the pages in this photo.
My guests have enjoyed looking at them.
It is a quicker way to see what I have posted rather than scrolling through all the posts.

Here is a closer view of one book. The quality of the photos is quite good if your photos are good to begin with.

It is another way I can share my blog, particularly with my friends who don't use a computer often.

I will be printed my fourth book at the end of June, 2010.
