Debbie Jones Silk Fusion Part 2

image
Do you see the sparkly threads she has included in this one?

Although most of these have the thin wispy edges this one has some very smooth edges. I love this unique color combination.

The silk fibers can go in any direction. You can also add other fibers such as wool in addition to adding things that sparkle or add interest.
I have seen three books on Silk Fusion but being with Debbie doing this she adds so much information that I could never have done what I did without her instruction.
In case you are wondering how to find out more about what she does, her classes and what she has available I am including this ink.

She is a wealth of information, an excellent teacher and besides that a really nice person. I hope you get a chance to take a class with her. Your guild or group can contact her with the information on her page.
When time permits I’ll also share information about her other techniques and her fabric painting book.

Silk Fusion Pieces

image
It is hard to share the way the fibers glow in a photo. These are absolutely gorgeous. Debbie was so excited to share this technique with me and once I saw the pieces I understood why.

This piece has some iridescent fibers included. It is so exciting.

The color possibilities are endless. You can also add some other things to them.
When Debbie teaches a class she brings all the fibers for you to work with. (I couldn’t believe it when she told me she also gives each student TWO finished pieces included in a modest material fee.)
It is an excellent class for a quilt group, art quilt group or an art group with no prior experience required. She does travel to teach.
These can be framed, cut up and used in a wall hanging, made into accessories or anything else you can imagine.
I was fortunate to create a piece with her tutoring me today. It is drying right now and of course I can’t wait to see it and share it with you. She is one the best teachers out there.
I also will have more of her work to share.
I just wish you could see these in person and touch them and you’d also want to learn how to do this.
